[Q]What is this on my GNexus? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello, I just found out (after 2 months of using my Galaxy Nexus) that there is a "thing" (I really don't know how to call it, sorry!) on the right side of my Galaxy Nexus. There are 3 "gold" dots. What are they meant to be? How can I use them? Please help me understand!

They are used for docking the phone. 2 are used for charging and one is to trigger the dock mode.

3 x 1750mAh Battery + Wall USB Charger

I have been wanting to purchase spare batteries and a charger and was wondering if anyone had bought this:
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3-x-1750m...890258?pt=PDA_Accessories&hash=item336fcabf12
Does anyone know if the batteries are official? I'd prefer them to be, but can live without if necessary.
The seller has positive ratings so even if they aren't official I am presuming they are good?
Thanks in advance.
Have this on order, will get back to you when they arrive!
Read the Samsung on the battery the a is clearly a v def not oem, not worth the risk

Don't feel bad, I didn't either. My niece is hanging out with me (she's 6) and when attempting to read the Samsung logo she noticed it

USB / Wall Charger

I have done a bit of research, and can't quite get a good answer. What I am wondering is that is there an official Samsung Galaxy S3 charger? And if so, where to get it? I have yet to get an S3, but most likely getting one late this week or early next week, so asking my questions before hand.
Also, I have had a couple blackberry's in the past, and have about 4-5 wall charger that uses the micro-usb connection, would these chargers be compatible with the Galaxy S3 since they have the same plug?
Thanks,
JP
I've bought this one
Hello,
I've bought this one and it works ok. On the exterior I can't tell a difference to the original. It has 1A as the the original (yes, I've tested the power).
Best regards.

Thanks for the link. Anyone else have inputs? Seems like the Galaxy S3 charger has an output of 5V with 1amp.

I'll buy this to use as a wall charger for the Kindle.

[Q] Are you able to do this with your Note 2?

Are you able to do this with your Note 2?:
https://lh6.googleusercontent.com/-VtcFCbL6KTQ/UHrXGfJBq6I/AAAAAAAAAYo/VN3PDkENxmU/s960/14.jpg
...For me, it only attaches a premade note and gives me not chance of actually making one in the process.
Any ideas on how to make it work?
Which one of those 25 is it you're talking about?

Yea i just saw that too.....oh well.
I assume that if charges so many devices, charge times would be slow.

AHH, you didn't read the documentation on the device then... if device can even be a good descriptor....
it is not a hub, and has no cables or charging of it's own. it is merely a thing you can run all your cables THROUGH.
it opens, you place the center of the cable in it, and then it holds the cable. it is not a charger, nor it is a hub of any sorts.

this shows what it truly is.
You can get them now. I ended up just buying one. They look pretty cool.

What? Is this new or something?
Honest question

Is this for real? Also, I know my GN2 needs a 2amp charger, or it will be on that thing for many hours. What's the amperage?

That's the same as the new green version qi receiver that starts popping up on Ebay recently , bought it for $20 few days ago.

Dont know yet, shipping from overseas will takes around one month... Sigh
I'm 99% sure you will need to do the mod in my sig in order to get this to work. Instead of using the palm coil use the Qi pad.

I'm on tapa talk so I can't see your sig, but I'm assuming that it says that you need to do a hardware hack.
People unless you see tmobile or t889 it's not going to work. The tmobile version of the note 2 is missing a little chip that allows wireless for some reason. Unless there is a software workaround that hasn't been pushed wireless is a no go.
So if I do the mod, I can just buy one of those $15 coil pads and it'll work for palm pre and Qi chargers or no?

Don't think so. From what I gather, T-Mobile version of note has contacts, but they don't do anything. Wonder if there's a way to go around that. Like solder a wire or something. but I doubt it.

Thanks, just noticed. Seems to be a simple 1 wire job. Problem is, my soldering skills leave a lot to be desired. Guess it's time to practice. Or ask someone who knows what they are doing.

You'll be fine, last time I hold a soldering iron is like 20 years ago, my hand a bit shaky now, and I did it just fine. Just be careful when prying the phone open, there are 2 clips behind the battery spot top and bottom.
hmm
I was tempted to do this. Worried about messing up tho.
I actually just bought an at&t gn2 specifically because of the wireless charging issues on the t889. I'll have to hack it a little, but my understanding is all frewquinciesnshould work just as well as on the T-Mobile gn2.
