I have been scouring the web for the last 5 hours trying to root my ATT GS3 on my Mac. I've tried everything I could find and nothing is working.
Running 4.1.2 Any help would be very appreciated.
This is my first time rooting as well.
Thanks!

Hey guys. Just got my Galaxy Note II on Verizon and i'm loving it but I want to get rid of the bloatware and an app so I can use NFC properly but I can't find a root method for Mac OSX. I've got virtual box running but for some reason i can't get it to mount my phone properly.
Any help with that would be much appreciated. Thanks.
First Zoff first of all go to verizon forum.
I think you'd have to flash a file which requires odin.
You can flash that via heimdall.

I rooted my Tmo Note 2 about 6 months ago. This was the first device I have ever rooted, and I loved everything about it. When I updated to 4.3 yesterday, I obviously lost root. I am wondering how I can root my Tmo Note 2 which is now running 4.3. I have a mac, and heimdall, but I don't know what files and steps I need to take to root my device once again. Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
I have read through a ton of different threads, but still have not had any luck. I am in desperate need of a solution (besides buying a pc just to root my note 2 via Odin). I need my root back!

Have you tried running a VM with Windows?
Try VirtualBox and setup a win7 VM within your MAC.
Hello All-
I previously had a Galaxy S3 running Android 4.2. It is At&T and i am a Mac user. It was rooted and In ran Cyanogen 10.2. To make a long story short, it started dropping every call and AT&T finally replaced it .
They replaced it with another Galaxy S3 running jellybean 4.3 and it has knox. Have spent countless hours trying to root this phone if for no reason than to get the Samsung and AT&T bloatware off of it. It will not root and I can not find any articles on how to root S3 with Jellybean on a MAC. I have also tried to remove Knox and it won't go away. I am at the end of my rope. Remember that I am trying to do this on a MAC.
Thanks in advance for the help!
I am new to rooting and i have a Galaxy Note 2 n7105 carrier unlocked phone on android v4.4.2. I have been scouring the internet and cant find a tutorial to root thus phone on a mac. Ive found a mac tutorial for only the n7100, not the n7105. I also need to know how to install the latest version of DN3 on it once i have rooted it. In the simplest way possible please, thanks for taking the time to read and answer!
I tried the method from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2364980
Which is the only thread I found for rooting my device which was decent but after flashing the rootkit on clockwordmod, my device still isn't rooted. The binaries won't get installed and it's very frustrating.
Everything works fine and I get no errors and this is why I'm confused and irritated that it doesn't work.
Please help
kind regards,
Sack
