WARNING: FLASHES RECOVERY W/O ACCESS TO INTERNAL STORAGE! REPACK ROM WITH ANOTHER RECOVERY (boot.img) FIRST!
First xD. About to load with OKJ and blasphemy but I ran without and it's pretty awesome. Only thing is the recovery implemented in this rom because it doesn't have access to internal storage. I repacked the rom with hazedabeast's recovery (in his Revolt build) before flashing and that has worked much better for me...
DEV SETTINGS ENABLED IN ABOUT PHONE (Like in CM)

Open the illusion rom with 7zip and another rom (with a working recovery) in 7zip then copy the boot.img from the 2nd rom into Illusion.
Tested with Blasphemy, OKJ and Crossbreeder. Upon boot the Android keyboard fc's. I'm positive it's the gapps package i used (mignight gapps) so just use a 3rd party keyboard if you like Midnight gapps.

the home button....

If you've already flashed and are stuck with that recovery just boot back into Illusion and use mobile odin to flash the stock el26cwm from rwilco.

I used TWRP to flash it. I only placed the revolt recovery into Illusion just in case twrp didn't re-inject upon resetting. Try TWRP and wipe EVERYTHING including the dalvik cache.

is data confirmed working?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the kernel should be independent of the recovery. If the kernel you wish to flash just happens to include a custom recovery then sure.

Thanks droidmaster! I'm running 1400/50 -50v across the board pegasusq/cfq @ 182dpi with blasphemy kernel, Operation Killjoy Tweaks, and Crossbreeder. I don't have service so I can't test data and gps but everything is flawless. Includes sms middleware patches for Voice+!
If you get the AOSP keyboard process has stopped working just find the aosp keyboard online and install that...

All other phones are like that except ours, the recovery is packed in the kernel in our devices. So in theory, if I flash a different kernel, then I should get a working recovery. So if I'm correct, your recovery should be working now

Doesn't TWRP have an option to inject recovery after install?

Yes, but its built only for 4.2.x, so no matter what you do, it won't boot. So its best to flash with twrp but don't inject.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

Do the newer versions of twrp work with this phone? I'm using 2.6.1 on my nexus with 4.3 Roms.

Well some one has to make it first so it boots with a 4.3 ROM. So yes it does, but just use the built in recovery for now.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app

I didn't have any problems coming from cm 10.1.3
Wiped system
Installed illusion
Installed blasphemy final 4.3
Installed comadose
Installed gapps
???
Profit
Blasphemy final 4.3 didn't connect to data at all. Couldn't hang up phone calls. Hardware home key wouldn't work.
Blasphemy 4.2 says it connects to data but it doesnt work.
Will say the Gps locked very quickly and was right on. Is cm going to have an account set up similar to Google?

Just go back to blasphemy v2 for now, I already reported issues with the latest update to the dev.

It's Sprint, ergo, CDMA.
Seems to me like the CDMA tabs never got much love!
I had a couple problems installing it nothing I couldn't fix. Installed on Sprint tab. Had JT CM7 on there with cwm 5. something. When installed from the CWM 5. it stuck at samsung logo. rebooted into CWM again which had been changed to 4. in initial flash, did the 3 times wipe of everything again then reflashed and it worked. SO far I'm liking it really smooth. I have it OC with SetCPU at 1200. Haven't played with it much yet but so far so good.

If it's not working, reflash with Odin the stock rooted kernel available by rodderick in the mega starter thread. The experimental one I included seems problematic.
Exciting stuff. Congrats Random.

If you're familiar with my Samsung Epic 4G Rom (or if you're not, click here!) then you'll know that I currently provide matching blue and green themes, with a red one on the backburner.
The default theme for Osprey is WIP port of the green theme. I will also be porting the blue theme when that's done, and the red theme when I make it.

When I first flashed from cm7 with clm 5. Smething it wouldnt boot. Reboot into recovery and check your cwm again it should have flashed the cwm Random has included with the rom. If it has triple wipe again and reflash, then it should work. Took maybe 3~5 min max to boot after reflash

Team Gummy's Kejar31 has provided us with "GummyBean 4.1"

This is a stock ROM of AOSP Jelly Bean compiled by Kejar himself. According to the thread of this ROM over at Root wiki, this ROM is working perfectly! Even auto restore is functioning! GummyBean is not the official name but I believe that is the only way to define this as a Team Gummy Jelly Bean ROM!
This ROM comes preloaded with Lean Kernel.
Remember to do a FULL wipe and a NANDROID before installing this ROM.
Here are the links:

GAPPS - http://goo.im/apps/teamgummy/gapps-4.1.1-Kejar31-20120713.zip
Here is a JB Kernel recommended for this ROM!

Yeah. I'm going to try reinstalling gapps again though. I came from Gummy1.3. Wiped, wiped again, format system and data, and expected a clean install. It just seems to be an odd issue.

I'm liking it so far... a little of everything. AOKP controls, CM profiles, PA settings screen... I'm reporting two odd things:
1. SuperUser pop ups are extremely large and slightly out of focus.
Is there any benefit to SuperSU vs. SuperUser?
2. I have two sets of nav bar toggles. One looks like AOKP (swagger button) and the other is above it. I've attached a screenshot in case that helps...

click on SuperSU & update binaries for it and the Superuser mondo popups will be replaced by normal sized SuperSU popups.
The toggles are AOKP, the power widget thing is CM. they can be independently enabled/disabled. ROM Control for the toggles, System/Notification Drawer for the power widget.

Pardon my ignorance but I don't see an option to update binaries. Also... I don't know if this matters but SuperSU isn't installed on this ROM, just Superuser.
I found the duplicate buttons menus. the AOKP menu and CM menu conflict a little I guess.

ok. then i guess if you install SuperSU from the Play Store, you won't get the mondo superuser request popups
I was eagerly awaiting this rom to land on the toro, however I think the next rom i am going to flash is going to be 4.2, just to try it.

If you can find the PacMan boot animation you can apply a custom boot animation from the ROM Control menu.

---------- Post added at 04:02 PM ---------- Previous post was at 03:56 PM ----------
oh i think I know what happened. SuperSU must've gotten auto-restored when the Play Store did its thing after i booted up after flashing the ROM (i checked & it's installed as a user app).
ok. then i guess if you install SuperSU from the Play Store, you won't get the mondo superuser request popups

Is there really any benefit to having both SuperUser and SuperSU installed? Don't they do the same thing? I'm all for ditching the mondo pop ups, but is there a real benefit?

not sure, but SuperSU was preinstalled on another ROM i was on & simply got auto restored by the Play Store after i flashed PAC-man. the elimination of the mondo popups was just a side observation i made. unless i find out a reason not to just leave things as-is, i'll just leave things as-is.
Ditch Superuser and go with SuperSu.

There is a tablet PAC Man boot animation available in ROM Toolbox. It works just fine on the gnex.

[rom] crespo4g aosp kang 4.2.1 [build 3 ~ jan 10, 2013]

I thought we could all use a little more development for our device since it's been a little sparse, lately...so I've decided to do a little work
I can't take credit for development of any aspects of this rom....it's simply a KANG with an AOSP base from GreenBlue's gen chat thread found here please thank him for his hard work on the rom and wonderful guide!!!!!
I started with greenblue's vanilla aosp and added a few features from around the forum. Then I created a flashable zip of the complete rom with CWM 6.0.1.9, extracted the archive created, borrowed the META-INF from greenblue's rom, and created a flashable zip in ordinary plain file format, which we are all used to seeing.
Installation:
back up current rom
full wipe!!
flash with cwm
custom restore just the data partition (ONLY IF USING A PREVIOUS BUILD OF THIS ROM!!!)
reboot
**even if coming from a previous build of this rom, it would still be a good idea since there are some underlying changes in the system**
features
pre-rooted with supersu
gapps included!
camera sphere fixed (mod found here)
notification customized quick settings app (mod found here)
CM file manager included (I don't know why more devs don't do this...it drives me insane!!)
search button opens in app search instead of google now. to access google now, hold the search button down (mod found here)
Notification toggles app (I like this one because you can add multiple widgets to the notification shade and add a shortcut for any app to the widgets)
matr1x kernel installed (shout-out for mathkid...I'm back! lol)
Changelog:
build 3
kernel updated to matr1x 24.5
zipaligned
common ad hosts blocked (enabling a 3rd party ad blocking app disables/replaces this!!)
network tweaked for speed increase
init.d & sysctl tweaks
build.prop tweaks
Gapps updated (12-12-12)
email and exchange apks included!!!
build 2
voicemail bug, including the return to call bug in the lockscreen.
also fixes the phone apk force close issue when you end a call.
hhis version does not fix the 4g wifi tether bug!
all additional features from the previous version are present.
build 1
initial release
What is/is not working:
you tell me
known issues:
4g wifi tethering

no, it will not flash recovery. as I mentioned in the OP, I borrowed the greenblue meta-inf, so even if the recovery.img that is backed up with cwm were included (which it is not) the updater script file in meta-inf is not programmed to flash the recovery partition

I can confirm that wifi tether does in fact work on 3g. No 4g so cant try but this rom is swift, and installation was smooth as butta. With matrix this rom flies

I've just confirmed 4g wifi tether works with a 3rd party app:
http://code.google.com/p/android-wi...etail?name=wifi_tether_v3_3-pre2.apk&can=2&q=
native wifi tether may not support 4g, but this app does
OK so I just flashed and setup everything to my like and WOW! this ROM is quick. So far everything works (calls, text, picture message, WiFi). Definitely a daily driver IMO. The only thing strange is that the boot animation deletes after first reboot (no biggie at all). Great job man

Cool. I don't really care about the boot to be honest.
Has the phone fc and return to call bug that all 4.2.1 roms seem to have been fixed on this? Curious.
And auto rotate home screen?

Forgot to mention. Thanks to green blue 4 find.

This works on jarjar ROM?
Sent from my Nexus 7
Flashed this on stock Rom and I'm can't boot into phone anymore.. Goes past boot screen, says App Redirected, and then back to boot screen again, and back to that message. Thoughts? Anyway to revert (didn't do a backup of course.)

Wiped system, flashed jarjar's rom, gapps, supersu, wiped cache. Now its stuck at the android logo bootscreen...maybe its just taking while? I'm guessing I'm going to have to wipe data next...sigh. I'll try a backup of data, boot into it, then restore data.

new version out. Settings are now black
well this is annoying. so i tried to flash on my stock rom and it loads for a second then goes back to the boot logo and just keeps looping around. I pushed the stock.zip via adb and tried to flash that on twrp and it doesnt seem like it's making the change cause i still see the new boot logo. any ideas?
