ROM Sense or AOSP??? - HTC One X

I need a rom with excellent battery life, the custom rom and already proven not give me good results with the battery, same here with the custom kernel, the phone overheated
any rom that really have excellent performance and excellent battery??
some sense or AOSP recommendation??

Threads like this are not allowed. Try each ROM and see what you like. In general, sense ROMs have better battery life.

my question is which rom has best battery performance, your answer does not help at all...

Have you read the rules or my post? No 'best ROM' threads allowed. Honestly, I think all ROMs are good and the choice becomes quite subjective.

agreed, battery depends on usage a lot more than the ROM you are using, if you want better battery life, get a 3.14 based sense ROM (any you like the features of) and then install a custom kernel, n3o's or xm's then underclock and undervolt your CPU, lower screen brightness or auto values and don't install batter saving apps.

Mate I've not seen much of a difference. The new 4.2.2 though on sense defo has made a difference for sense roms. I think it's much of a muchness.
Ooo i have had an idea...why not
Try aosp
Try sense
And see the results. Im sounding sarcastic and there's a bit there but in reality that's the only way you will know by the way you personally use it like chappy above me said

Battery Life on Neophyte's Rom

Which one has better life?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
neophytes rom compared to what ?, its definitely better than the default rom. I found that neophytes rom gave me excellent battery life =D
compared to NexTSense? i think NexTSense have good battery life. Never tried the Neophyte's Neophyte yet.
Oh sorry heh heh. I was in a rush a wasn't very specific. I meant between his two rom's. Anyone feel any difference between his stock based one and his sense based one?
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
I switched from the normal one to the battery save, and noticed a distinct improvement in battery life.
That said, there are so many contradictory comments on threads about overall performance of different ROMs, the only way to find out is to give it a go on your phone.
I guess it is fair to say that the battery save version should be better, but you may not need it....
Battery save Roms only run up to 800mhz though
Having tried both I feel that Neophyte 1.6 is the best Rom for battery.
Alright thanks everyone. I'll give then both a try.

i run my NexTSense on 806mHz only..

Best battery saver ROMs

Can anywone tell me a best rom for save battery ?
Now i have Oxygen 2.3.1 Bravo
I would think the Oxygen you're using would be one of the better one's for battery life. Don't go for Sense rom's as they'll drain your battery real quick.
Well anything oxygen based, or the gingervillan roms
Took me a week to finally get it right, but I've managed to get both speed, stability n a Schweeet batterylife
If I get the time this weekend, ill post how I did it, and all the steps from stock, out of the box, to end product
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
I find that the insert coin rom isn't too bad on battery life. Well version 1.1.1 isn't. not sure on the newer versions though
Most AOSP ROMS have great battery life. But much of the battery life is to do with the kernel too, so picking a good kernel is paramount.
I'd agree on the kernel bit, but also, how you have android configured in general around it can have a noticeable effect.
The right rom, kernel, and also userspace setup/configuration all adds up
Sent from my HTC Desire using xda premium
Also black background for AMOLED screens is worth adding to the list.
Im curious guys on this battery subject?
I'm currently using aurora V3 but even before that I'm lucky to get a day out of it.
What potential increases am I looking at here?
Many thanks

There is no way to guess or add a multiplier from your rom ro another to see potential increase unfortunately. It all depends how you use the phone. If the screen is on all the time, you wont see any increase in battery life as ROMs and kernels cannot control the amount of battery a Screen uses. This is a constant.
ROMs and kernels optimise CPU so that les spower is used, therefore things that use CPU will affectively waste less power.
The only way to test / compare is to flash something else and use it the same as you do every day.

You could assume stock, then at the bottom add root only and mention kernels and set CPU, autokiller, autostarts etc etc
Rightyo, need to do shopping but will be back shortly
Might see what i can work out
AOSP roms are the best for battery of course, but if you like SenseUi, I recommend You InsertCoin 1.1.4 and kernel from -SNQ, (his kernels are better for battery from bananacakes)

Which rom is better + why?

Which rom do you prefer? Charmander or Android revolution? And why?
Thanks guys

I prefer charmeleon for its lot of tweaks and battery life.
Yes, i have it flashed at the moment, thinking about switching though
hard to say which ROM is the best one.
I'd say Villain or Charmeleon. But most likely you'll get as many answer as many ROMs out there
Haha yeh, i really like roms that are really customizable though!
You should try one of the cyanogenmod/AOKP based roms that are available. I usually find them faster/better battery life since they don't have HTC's sense stuff.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Will hit them up, thanks
Pkmn for reasons unknown give me massive battery drain for no reason even after a few charge cycles I'm using leedroid just because on mine it gives me.better battery life 11+ hours with 4 hours screen time.

MIUI for me using the RomAur version because its rebased on the 1.29. I dont like sense or any of the launchers on the ASOP/AKOP type roms, plus I love the theme's available for it.
Thread closing soon. OP just try the roms mate. You are the only one that can decide this. Or just search. Many threads like yours with people asking the same thing. Search is your friend. And Google the big daddy

Mate comparing ROM's is disrespectful to developers ..
I wouldnt say so, creative criticism is essential to development, and its not like were pointing out flaws and saying why (not that thay are) bad, where expressing personal opinions, not attacking developers.
The point is I think its down to personal preference, what makes my rom of choice best for me is not always going to be right for you. Try them all play find out what you like and you want from a rom.

Agreed without competition there would be no invitation. As always "best" is subjective to the person. Try them all pick the one that suits your needs the most.
My need is for battery life above all, I use the Rom that gives me the most.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Hi
I suggested we can do pros and cons of every rom we use and so we can assess the rom ourselves.
To be honest, I know OP doesn't criticize on any ROM, but all of the ROM out there is FOC and is developed with all the effort given by the developer. You could easily try out the two you asking for and see which one could benefit you the most
Since you are asking on ARHD and PKMN, it is depending on your usage. If you prefer as stock state as possible, then you could go for ARHD. If you prefer huge tweaks, then you could go for PKMN. No harm trying them
Pointless thread is pointless
Try a few ROMs and see what fit you best.

Seriously, we need a port for Sense 4.1. It's already out for HTC One X and with the improved battery life it offers, I would really like to try it. Despite what others have said the battery life I'm getting out of CM10 and CM9 is trash compared to the stock. I know Sense is bloated and a lil laggy but it does a way better job of maintaining battery while idle by turning off radios and sync. I could leave my phone for the entire night while sleeping and it MIGHT drain 1-2%. CM10 drains my battery by 20% in like 2-3 hours on standby. In the battery stats on stock the "awake" bar wouldn't be there when the phone is idle. With CM10, the "awake" bar under battery stats is sporadically there all the time, even when the phone is idle the entire time. Can some dev please help us out? Where is jmz when you need him...

sense port as you said for one x.. what a big joke. htc one x has full sense from stock, not a port. cm10 (build 89) has issues with deep sleep so that's why you loose a lot of battery even when the phone is idle. i suggest using the nightly build of cm10 because the issue is gone in that and the battery will be increased 100% more. if you do want sense and you don't like the freedom of cm9 and cm10 that has to offer, i suggest two things: go back to stock and run a crappy software that lags every time or flash the [ROM-PrimoU|GSM] [01-September] myONEv RC5.0 FX from the development section + a good kernel that gives you the possibility to overclock your cpu like Titanium Kernel build 5.
^ only if you are GSM.
HTC desire x would be a better port

Sorry I should have specified this in my first post. I have a Virgin Mobile USA PrimoC (CDMA) phone. I understand HTC One X's sense 4.1 isn't a port. I'm saying we could use someone porting 4.1 FROM the One X for our phone. jmz did that with his JmzOneV4 ROM with full sense 4 from the One X. I know that there are some really good ROMs/kernels out there for PrimoU phones but for PimoC's all we've got is simonssimons' kernel and although its amazing, for some reason my phone stays in the "awake" state ALL THE TIME. I just reverted to stock this weekend and I'm finally seeing my battery life back to where I liked it. I'm not a dev so I can't say for sure but with CM 10 ROM with JellyBoot4.img kernel and with CM9 with sickkernelv0.6 my phone's battery stats showed that the phone was in the "awake" state pretty much all the time and I barely got up to 10 full hours on my battery.
I don't really want sense but I like how it allocates resources and turns off radios when not needed in order to save battery. I can get almost 2 days with stock. I haven't seen this with any of the custom kernels that have been released since PrimoC's kernel source was released.
What I want is CM10, but with the battery life I've heard so many people boasting about. I have not experienced good battery life with any version of CM or with any custom kernels I've tried so far and for now I'm stuck with sense.
Also I've not heard of any PrimoC'ers with such good battery life as PrimoU'ers have claimed.

That would be amazing! If you can, try to talk to JMZ, like I said I think he ported full sense 4 from the OneX for the OneV on his JmzOneV4 rom. There were some issues there with screen size and display, especialy when using the full sense 4 lock screens, and some other things (like the clock app) but it still worked really well. Like cpie said, the desire x's sense 4.1 might work better with the screen size.
I use paranoid Android and the battery life is incredible. Don't Miss out on custom roms like cm 9, 10, myonev, paranoid. That's the best thing that could happen to your phone.
And for sure your requirements will be met anytime soon. Just give it some time. The devs for must be working on that.

[Q] [HELP] Best ROM for Hardcore Gaming w/ Good Battery Life

Hello guys I just switched to HTC One X and currently on stock ROM. As for my taste I don't like to stay on that, I found difficult too to choose the best ROM available here, I'm confused actually. I'm new to HTC flashing stuffs and I want to prevent flashing then unhappy with it, because when that happens I have no idea yet to return to stock. So I just want a little tips from you guys based on daily used.
I would like:
-Good Battery Life
-Ultimate Gaming Performance that I can play Asphalt 8 (High) with no lag
Thank you guys and appreciate your suggestions...
I'm noob and this is the best I can do for now, ask

You cannot have both at same time: heavy gaming will drain battery significantly, and good battery comes with sacrifying certain performance.
- If you prefer gaming, try XM kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2136731
- Good battery life, try Alex V kernel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2226360
Also, make some tweaks (under/overclock) of cpu/gpu to best suits your needs, but do with caution as wrong settings can damage your phone.
