Is there a way to get aosp jellybean mms with working picture sending on the 4.1.2 rom? i tried a few but none of them have working picture messaging it always gets stuck on sending
I used an ICS build of the MMS.apk in my ROM and it works, it just doesnt have emoji support or quick reply window.
I had cm10 messaging app (probably a week ago) working but I couldn't send pictures with it

Which ROM were ya on? Did it fc when ya tried to send pics? That's the issue were running into on the new 4.1.2 build. On the previous n7105 I had also MMS working with working MMS haha I dunno what they changed between then and now but I think its something in the tw framework

So group messaging finally works correctly on 4.2.1 ROMs....my question is, has this been fixed on any TW ROMs?
By saying "correctly" I mean how group messaging works on iOS devices, like a chat room.

As far as I know from my research the only TW ROMSs that have working stock group mms messaging are Verizon phones. If you do a search for SecMms.apk you'll find a lot of info on this topic. I've got it working on my S2 after moding SecTelephonyProvider.apk and framwork2.jar and installing a Verizon based SecMms.apk. I still have a couple bugs but its working. I believe the S4 has working group mms messaging and I've tried a little to get it to work on my S2 but not extensively. I'm at work so I can't really pull up the threads I was following to do what I did. But search for SecMms.apk and you'll find a lot of info on how to mod your files to get it to work.
looking for a mms program that works with aokp roms that can send group messages. seems there arent many choices.

Group messages as in iPhone? Most AOKP ROMs should have that feature built in by now. Unfortunately I don't know any apps that have it but I currently use it on stock AOKP MMS.apk app
Edit: maybe try handcent if your looking for a specific app. I'm trying to do some research for ya

Probably won't happen unless u use a 3rd party app, WiFi calling is a T-Mobile closed source app, its only available on T-Mobile stock based twiz Roms, group messaging is a asop app that wasn't built into the twiz framework so, unless twiz an asop have a baby were out of luck unless a 3rd party app can do it, although I do know u can use an asop messaging app in twiz Roms so it might be doable?

Thanks for the info, man. Any idea how I would get an asop messaging app that supports group messaging into a rom with WiFi calling? Would I just extract the stock messaging app from a 4.2 rom and install it on my 4.1.2 rom?

Yeah just pull from asop and push to system/app change permission and reboot, I know infamous s2 and jmt both support WiFi calling could try those, just google asop mms apk for touchwiz roms

Clearly you didn't read it. The stock one has borked mms. Simply if you need or want to send mms, just use the stock app on your phone. Receive will work fine if you have automatic receiving of mms enabled.
This is a lovely theme that many people love so giving them the option even with borked mms is worth it. Most people don't send mms every message. Perhaps you do. If so it's not for you! Sorry!
Is there a way to turn off/disable 160 character split? I'm surprised people still want this as a feature.

Perhaps down the road I'll find a way to get AOSP messaging working on any stock ROM. If I do I'll post it!

You're using the wrong one. People! Please refer to the post. You can't use the AOSP versions on stock. The stock one is specifically for stock and AOSP specifically for AOSP. And specific to its android version!

You have to modify the apk and people use it because SMS is 160 characters not 400+ like GSM carriers use. It's best to keep it this way for everyone. Don't like it? Send mms!

Stock works on any ROM. What ROM are you on sir? Perhaps your ROM has some weird setup?

Thanks. I can now confirm PA isn't playing well with it. Not sure why. I can try to theme the PA apk in the same way. If anyone is interested. You use the stock version for the time being.
I'll see if I can theme the PA apk tomorrow.
