[Q] Disable "Searching for available network" pop up - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I'm currently out of my coverage area so the "searching for available network?" alert keeps popping up every 10-30 seconds. This is driving me craxy, I've tried disabling all alerts and even enabling airplane mode. I can't seem to find anyone with this problem, so I'm assuming I'm just missing a simple solution. I'm currently rooted with stock rom on 4.1.2.

If there is no way to disable this pop up, is there some way I can at least make it think there is signal so it stops popping up? The alert has increased to every second. I can't even manage to type 2 words before the pop up blocks the screen and disables the keyboard.

That sounds annoying! Try this..
-Go to phone dialer and dial #*#*4636*#*#
-Select "Device Information"
-Scroll down and press the button "Turn off Radio"
Does that do the trick?

It was just a lil off that's why you didn't get the menu. But he was right! It's input this way *#*#4636#*#*
Most codes start with the star* first.

Thanks that works, but turning off the radio doesn't disable the pop up. I just connected to Rogers (I'm in CAN atm) and disabled roaming. So there's no pop ups while I'm their coverage. I still can't believe there's no way to disable that pop up.

Remove the Sim card! this will fix the problem

Simply remove the Sim card! This will fix the problem. When there is no sim card, the phone will not search for network, hence you will not get this error.
I simply removed the sim card, rebooted the phone, and tada, when I am flying on airplanes, and ofcourse there is not network coverage there, I can finally use the phone for games, music, etc, without this annoying message poping up every 30 seconds or so.

I have this EXACT same problem. I first noticed it after I turned on WiFi calling. This is not a mild annoyance. It's happening so often that it's rendering my phone nearly unusable. If anybody has any ideas I'd love to hear them. It also only started happening after I updated to Android 9.

I hated this so much on the S10, because it would interrupt games, apps, everything (and my network coverage sometimes flipped from 1 bar to 0, so I was seeing this 20-30 times a minute) but I found a solution that has worked for me so far (I've definitely seen my network transition to Emergency calls only without popping this up). Fair warning, I don't know what other consequences this had, but basically, I went to Settings -> Apps -> triple dot menu -> Special access -> Appear on top -> Show system apps -> (then I went through a bunch of apps that I thought could be the culprit, and turned them off. That included the phone apps). I've tested to make sure that if someone calls me I still get notifications (audio if phone volume isn't vibrate/mute, and full screen popup if I'm in another app). For completeness, I also went through the system apps in Settings-> Apps and turned all their notifications to silent and minimized, but as far as I can tell, that didn't help. I haven't gone back and turned stuff back on, because I never want to have this happen again.

[Q] Where do I find WIFI sleep policy settings?

On ICS, where can I find the settings for Wifi sleep policy etc? My Wifi keeps turning itself off after a time, and Im trying to get the the bottom of it, but cant find where those settings would be. They certainly arent where they have been for previous Android versions...
Go to Wifi Networks, click menu bottom on bottom right > advanced.
Even though mine is set to always stay on, it regularly turns itself off. Every morning, I've lost quite a lot of battery and I have no connection. Within a few seconds of the screen coming back on, it will reconnect.
Is this just me? (Android Revolution HD 2.1.2)
Its not working for me. No matter what setting I put wifi on it turns itself off when out of range for a certain period of time (about thirty minutes I think). Driving me insane.
Mine's only a couple of meter's from the access point, still turns itself off...
The same for me. Not 30 minutes but immediately.
For example the notofications appear only if I unlock the screen.
In wifi setting is on "keep always"
Example: i receive a whatsapp, email or facebook notification only when unlock the screen. Is normal?
With data connection all work fine.
I'm glad to know it's not just me. At least that means hopefully there is a fix coming at some point...

same here anyone an idea? sucks hard..
I figured my problem, traced it back to the Vodafone app, it was causing wifi to crash. Once i removed it it works perfectly. The problem stemmed from the vodadone app constantly trying ro find free wifu points to.automatically connect to.

[Q] How can I turn off caller announce

Somehow I or an app or a setting has changed and all of a sudden every incoming call is being announced with an annoying (and loud) "Call from" in addition to the ringtone.
I have searched all over XDA and Google and found lot of people saying it is driving mode (turned off), but I have checked that and it is not set to do this, but it still it does the announcement.
I'd like to figure out what is causing this and turn it off -- any ideas?
Thank you in advance,
Kevin
Hmmm...do you have any apps related to the dialer, phone, contacts, or anything?
I assume you've tried restarting?
And, this is where you checked for driving mode, right? In Settings -> Language and Input -> Text-to-speech output -> Driving Mode is set to off?

I'll look back over my apps I've either tinkered with recently or installed.
I did confirm driving mode is off, but I decided to turn it on to see what would happen and I get two voice announcements. One says "incoming call from" answer the one I can't get rid of says "call from" in a slightly different voice. The one that says incoming is the one that is controlled by driving mode.
Thanks

This has been driving me crazy for days!
If you have Robin installed - this is the culprit. Go into the apps setting and turn off caller I'd!
Hope this helps...

[Q] Wifi Calling Keeps Showing Up In Quick Settings

Normally I only have 5 Quick Settings icons enabled (Quick Memo, Wifi, Sound Profile, Data, and Bluetooth), however every time I reboot my phone, the Wifi Calling icon re-enables itself and pushes itself in between the Data and Bluetooth toggles, pushing Bluetooth off of the screen. I realize that it's easy to just go back into the 'Quick Settings' settings and un-tick Wifi Calling again, but it gets really annoying when I reboot multiple times a day. Does anyone know of a more permanent solution besides just un-ticking the box every time I reboot? If it helps, I am using the Gold edition G3 from Sprint and I'm rooted. This 'problem' has been going on since I got the phone.

Does the same on the 855 model with quick remote etc. It's an LG bug it seems (someone else has posted a similar thread iirc)

"5 Mins to work" - how do I turn this off?

Every morning, and sometimes throughout the day, I get this notification telling me how many minutes to work. I haven't set a work location, and I have all settings turned off that I can see in Google, so I'm wondering how I can actually disable this annoying and useless feature.
Anybody know?
You can try and clear the data for Google now and reactivate it. Do you have a home location set?
I'd like to turn off Google now cards showing up on my watch because when I swipe away the weather, I lose card on my phone.

Sounds like there is an update that is coming with Lollipop that will allow you to bring back cards you swiped away. For now, instead of swiping away cards just swipe down to hide them.

Thanks!
View the card in google now on your phone, you can click the 3 dots in the corner of the card to enter the notification option for that particular card and permanently dismiss it.
You can also turn off card preview in android wear settings.
Ok, thanks for the advice. I had already turned the notifications off for that particular card in Google, but for some reason it kept showing. I just clicked it again, so I'll see if it sticks this time.
Android wear 5.o coming soon to solve this issue

That's weird, I did never face this issue but my A2L is relatively new (1 week only).
I'll try to phone to my own A2L using different devices to see if I face this issue.

Yes, it is very weird and annoying. Not happens every time, but sometimes... ?
This happened to me yesterday for the first time, but I thought that was a problem of the person that was calling me.
It was a number I didn't have in my contacts, and after the bug I immediately called back that number, but it was not available.
I thought the person that was calling me had a very low battery charge and while calling me his phone turned off, causing the bug (because immediately after the bug it was unavailable).
To this date I still did not have this problem.
Me too, i cant answer and reject calls when i upgrade to android pie
Solved: Screen not turning on with incoming calls
Step 1: Go to Dialer or Phone app settings. To do so, you can either go to main settings, then open ‘Apps’, and then scroll down to Dialer or Phone App.
You can also access App Info page by long pressing the app icon, and then tapping the App info option or the small ‘i’ icon in the corner.
Step 2: Now select “App notifications” option and turn it "on"
Step 3: Now if App notifications are turned off, your display won’t wake up when someone calls you. Also if only the “Incoming calls” permission is off, your screen will not light up with incoming calls. Make sure required permissions are turned on and your issue will be fixed.
Xiaomi Mi 2 Lite. I cannot get incoming calls to show on my screen, so I can't answer. Tried switching notifications off and on again, tried forcing stop. Two days ago I did a factory reset and was OK for 2 days. I think this is since latest Android update about a 10 days ago.
Call answer bug
I have similar issue on Mi A1, been going for a while. Sometimes, call comes in, the answer key cannot pick and cannot reject the call. This happened after a certain update I just dont know which. I have noticed that this mostly happens at some particular GSM antennas, sometimes, just by moving away from that antenna (that's when in a car) solves the problem. But as long as I remained in that location at that time, i cannot pick or reject calls, I also can't make calls, I get the promt, network problem, even though the service bars r showing. And in some cases the people calling will tell me, that calls to me are not going through.
This is driving me nuts. When I get a phone call I get a bar at the top of the screen with two buttone, one saying Decline and the other sayng Answer. I can tap on it like a demented woodpecker, but nothing happens. If Itry to swipe it, the two buttons just disappear into a void and the phone keeps ringing with no way to answer. Very, very occasionally I get the normal notification that I can swipe to answer, but I have to phone nearly everybody back.
