[Q] unlocking galaxy nexus....

Hello every one... i am waiting too get my galaxy nexus from 3... is there any way I can unlock it to all network as I am willing to use it overseas while traveling.
To my knowledge (north American) galaxy nexi are nit carrier locked unless you have the CDMA version if your gnex has a sim card it should support any card you put in it that uses the same network frequencies as the device
You can find the frequencies here http://www.gsmarena.com/samsung_galaxy_nexus-4219.php
Worst case scenario once you root and flash a custom rom I doubt there would be any simlock... .. but you shouldn't have to go that far

Thank you mate..
If it's on 3 UK it'll probably be locked at this point. There were only a few from the first batch that weren't. Try calling cust. support and ask them, O2 provided me with one for free. If not then you can get a code via eBay for about £10.

I purchased mine from a three UK high street shop just before Christmas and it is not locked to 3.I have only tried an orange sim and it worked perfectly.

Got mine from 4uphones on Vodafone as an upgrade, no lock or carrier spam. Hope the 3 one is the same
There's few operators that will lock the sim.
I bought my nexus on PAYG from three, I've been using my T-mobile sim in it since. They are sim free from three.

Europe!!

Hi everyone.. I'm planning on going to Europe this summer and I wanted to ask if anyone knows if my phone will work with European 3g... Thanks

You should be good. I went to the UK and Singapore with an unlocked Nexus One and it worked great. Just got my unlock code for my T989 as I have a trip to Sweden in 2 weeks. I used Giff-Gaff in the UK and Starhub in Singapore. Study the carriers frequencies before you go and buy a pre-paid sim and you will be good to go.

This phone is not pentaband which means it isn't guaranteed to work on 3g for all carriers. It does have 4 of all 5 bands, the only one you're missing is 900mhz so depending on where in Europe you're going you'll have 3g. You'll have to check the specific carrier you plan on using and as long as they support one of the bands, you'll be fine. (meaning they don't only use the 900 bands for 3g)
This will help. Still trying to find the site I used that told the carriers frequencies.

You can easily change (flash) the radio that is best for your location.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405345
My GNex came from the USA where I live, but had the XXLF1 radio and worked fine. Just yesterday I flashed the UGLC1 radio that is best for the USA and T-Mobile. Will test it through the week to see how it does.
The Nexus that can be bought from the Play Store (play.google.com is an unlocked GSM world phone.
You should be able to purchase it and use it on any French GSM carrier.

Should be added that the Play Store only ships to US addresses. OP is best off with an importer.

does UNLOCKED At&T work fine in other regions?

m looking to buy Xperia Ion LT
and i found a great price from a USA seller.
it says (UNLOCKED) AT&T
does that mean i can use it in another region of the world? as in the middle east ?
using sim card of course
thanx

As long as the bands are supported in your area it should work fine.

Yup, check what band your carrier uses and see if the ion supports it. Here in honduras my carrier uses 850 band for 3g and gprs, my ion gets signal and 3g just fine.

H815T and AT&T

I'm a little disappointed with the reception I'm getting. I thought I was going to receive the European version. Not sure if that would make a difference. Is there a difference baseband I can faddish to maybe help?

I bought this off of Newegg. I love the phone. We went camping a few weekends ago and it was either spotty service or no service. I had brought my note 4 with just in case I had problems. The note 4 would grab 2 bars.

Possible. Will test and comment. Other than that, there is no way you can make it better.
Better to move to east coast or a city
Which is more important for you

I ordered the H815 version but received the H815T version. It does not have LTE here in PR for AT&T. I just wrote to the seller from eBay to get an exchange or a full refund...
