Guys we now have OFFICAL CWM and Rom Manager support.
you can flash CWM from rom manager but it wont be permanent so you need to flash a recovery.img as usual
DO NOT FLASH VIA ROM MANAGER
but any roms that are for the one v and have been uploaded to rom manager, will mean we can download and flash via rom manager
CWM 5.8.4.5
CDMA USERS PLEASE DO NOT USE THIS IT WILL NOT WORK USE THIS INSTEAD http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=28251351#post28251351
This CWM will now be maintained by Koush, i'll just update this thread when a new version comes out.
Instructions to flash:
either use the all in one tool
or if you prefer to do it manually then
fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
fastboot reboot-bootloader
fastboot erase cache

It would help if you can elaborate "doesn't work". Listing the steps you tried to install the recovery and what are your trying to perform in the recovery
Well by doesn't work I mean that it goes to and HTC white screen "This build is for development purposes only..." and well with the current method of achieving root if I'm not mistaken you need a custom recovery. Initially I wanted to nandroid my phone before rooting. I wasnt yet aware that the user football had made a RUU available for the CDMA One V which latter turned to help clxcoltz and I in recovering our phones.
You don't need a custom recovery to root the phone. You only need to boot it with boot.superboot.img using adb.

The solution of your question is HTC made some kindda hardware change in WFS shipped i guess after May 2012 due to that change you cant see CWM but your 4 keys might be lightning if you installed the latest CWM but you cant enter

As mindfreak62 stated this is indeed an issue rooted in some unpublished hardware revision to the WFS. There are a handful of users with the issue and it is presently under investigation here. There is currently no solution that will allow you to run a custom recovery and many ROMs have the same issue. Your best bet presently is to stick with stock firmware until the issue is resolved. You can get back to this state by flashing your device with an RUU.

Just try format data 4 or 5 times withput memory card in cynogen recovery and install again totally diffent rom, which you didnt install before.

Do you have an unlocked bootloader? If so, you need to extract the boot.img from the ROM zip and flash it from fastboot.

You only need to do that if you're flashing a custom ROM. If you're on stock like you say you are, you don't need to do it. If you do decide to flash a custom ROM, instructions are linked in my signature.
Hello,
I tried to install the cyanogenmod 11 to my phone today,it's the first custom rom that i ever install on an Android phone. I followed all the steps provided by the cyanogenmod team but the phone it's stuck at the boot image and won't pass it. The steps i made are these:
1.Downloaded the latest stable build of cyanogenmod
http://download.cyanogenmod.org/?device=endeavoru&type=snapshot
I used the latest one M8.
2.Downloaded the GAPPS from here
http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Google_Apps
I downloaded the CM11 file, the fist file that is in the list.
3.Downloaded the clockwork recovery from here:
http://www.clockworkmod.com/rommanager
4.Put the downloaded cyanogenmod and GAPPS in a folder named Cyanogen in my storage
5. Installed the custom recovery of the clockwerk recovery
6. Wipe factory data/devlik cache
7. Installed the cyanogenmod zip and the gapps zip
8. Reboot, and not let the phone enter the cyanogenmod screen, pressed the volume down and power button to take it to fastboot
9. Installed the boot.img that is in the cyanogenmod zipfile
10. Reboot
After all of this the phone still doesn't boot up,it's just stuck at the cyanogenmod logoscreen, the wheel is spinning, sometimes freezes but always spinning, what do i have to do to make my phone work?
Please help,i need to use my phone in a few hours because i have to go to work.
Thank you verry much and excuse the long post.

Ooow,ok,i undestand,i flash the boot, after that the cwmrecovery and after that i do all the cyanogenmod stuff. One more question if it's not to much. If i do all of this stuff and still don't have a luck with cyanogenmod..or i just get tired of it, i had made a backup for the stock rom. If i use the cyanogenmod for a while and i want the Stock Rom back, can i just revert to the backup i made in clockwork mod earlier?

in fastboot flash boot.img then go into recovery and flash rom
you already flashed recovery.img and you already flashed boot.img and gapps and did a full wipe so no need to do that again
yes but you need to downgrade your recovery to cwm 5.X

Sir,
Firstly i installed htc sync manager and updated all my drivers .
Then i made a backup of all my pictures..videos..chats.. etc.
Once i was sure that nothing is there in the phone that is imp. And has not been backed up , i coppied the android 4.4.4 rom and gapps to my phone
I had hasoon 2000s toolkit for one x .
So i first used vol down button + power button to enter into fastboot mode and connected it to pc so that it says fastboot usb .
Then from there i think i didnt flash boot.img (and probabily thats the root caise of the problems im having .
Then i wiped my dalvic cache..partition cache and wipe data/factory reset
After that i clicked on install from zip and installed the cm11 endevouru xxxx xxx.zip file . Once it was complete i rebooted my phone to bootloader . Then again to recovery and then back to install zip . Now i installed gapps .
Once done i rebooted my phone . And now in the phone the cyanogenmod logo appears with an arrow going round and round encircling that logo.. and arrow sometimes stops for some moment but nothing happens .. the phone doesnot boot ahead .. wat to do im helpless sir please help me.. im in big trouble. Thank you.

I've quickly gone through this thread and am missing 1 important piece of info :
What is your hboot number and on what rom/software number were you before all this ?
If you hboot is lower than 1.3x than you can't install this rom at all.
And there is no need to reboot the bootloader between flashing the rom.zip and the GAPPS.zip. do these 2 straight after one another inside the recovery.

HELLO,
Flash stock RUU if available for your varient otherwise Push TWRP recovery via adb. then download twrp backup for your varient. then restore your phone via twrp. If any problem. Mention me
I backed up my previous system using cwm recovery but when i manage to install it from pc via usb it says " sending recovery....Okay" then
"Failed......remote signature failure" i dont know why??
so do i have to still use it or twrp recovery can do it?
I can download the RUU file also

Which recovery you were using while performing upgrade?
I had so many error when updating to lolipop. Memory full, error as above, bootloop and all. What I did is I flashed the stock recovery, did a full wipe, back to stock and updated to lolipop. Had no issue at all after that
It was cwm that i used to back up my system.
But i need to tell you that i made a factory reset before installing the update because the lack of space on phone storage.

So the question is: how to flash the stock recovery without an existent recovery on the device? I can't enter the recovery at all!!

i just flashed a stock recovery (from my pc using adb command) that one for my device i actually extracted and took it from the OTA update package. then it was fine until the installation stoped as i faced the problem of the platform .xml file error(which becuase of the rooting process that change the permissions to write on the sd card) then i fixed it. Then the installation completed sucssesfully.

do you have the OTA file? (usually saved in download folder on your internal memory). if so, follow this to have stock recovery and update. but if possible, don't do the "5: Relock your bootloader" part
Stock recovery ?
I have got the OTA file copies to the computer !!
What should I do now ?
I have got Recovery File ... i.e., recovery.img
I dont understand how to use that !
