I bought one of these from Amazon when they were being sold for $5. My sister is getting a new Nexus 7 and I thought I'd get another one for her, but it would appear that they're sold out and possibly not being produced anymore.

This is my story... =)
Less then a month ago I ordered 2 Seidio Rugged cases reviewed here in this forum. One of the cases had weak headphones and charger covers, they have fallen off after couple of days of light use. The other case is doing great so far. So I had my case returned and replaced by Amazon. They overnighted me my replacement case for free.
This case is totally different from the one that was replaced. Outer "rugged" case became less flexible with more sturdier feel. Corners of the outer shell missing "lips" used to help hold the exoskeleton plastic piece in place. Screen borders of the of the outer shell became more "bumpy" adding 1-2 mm of additional protection, lets say, if you drop your phone screen-down to the floor. Charger and headphone covers have small "drill" holes, in place where they connect with the case. Case has HEV and HEV4 written under Seidio name.
Update: Just got off the phone with Seidio. This is a next "generation" batch of cases with hardened materials and improved exoskeleton fitting. =) The guy on the phone from Seidio office had to contact parts' manufacturer to confirm this =)
Interesting..I just sent mine in for replacement due to one of the corners breaking. Curious to see if I get the same thing.

I just contacted Seidio, they are reviewing the pictures, but they told me company did not update case design. I'll post as soon as I have more news =)

I am in the market for one of these, I have found them on Amazon for about $40.00 vs. Seidio's site for $70.00. What do you think the chances are Amazon has the updated verison?

I finally got my rma for my active case. The silicone is indeed re-engineered. The piece around the hdmi and usb ports is thicker, and the power button is no longer a pain in the ass to push.
I got my case from Amazon this week and is the real deal. 39.99 hard to beat.
I think the Pt case at bestbuy is the newer designed one and they are 50 bucks. I took my otterbox case back to sprint for this one, the hdmi and charging tab on this one is a little harder to get to than the otterbox but the power and volume buttons work perfectly. It is definately an awsome case, yhis case has 3 pieces as a opposed to the otterbox 2 and it has a holster all for 15 dollars more than the otterbox.

Sry for late response, I've been busy lately. Yes, I think they do have new gen, because I received replacement unit from Amazon, to replace older one with ripped flaps...

my flap broke off at the bottom but i ended cutting off some more off the silicone so i can plug the phone to charge like with the active.... i dont think they would take it back since i did cut some off after it broke.
i do like how the hard plastic wraps around the edge unlike the older modle.
I want my rugged extended series for my mytouch 4g.. dem goofs at seidio don't seem to get it!

fyi..if you are willing to wait for them...you can get these style cases from ebay for around $1.50 each from chinese and hong kong sellers. They look nice...but these snap on cases like this have been the flimsiest I have seen
The Incipio Feather case looks just like that. I bought one and was disappointed. It popped right off when my phone fell onto the carpet. They do look and feel good but I don't fell like my phone is protected very well in one of them.

I purchased a black and clear case on Ebay for 4.00 each...awesome quality an they came from California not china...they are the same case as the case-mate..so why pay 20.00 when you can get them on ebay for 4 or 5 bucks...I'm very happy with the 2 I purchased.....

Looks like the price has gone up a little bit ... but the main thing I noticed is that the protection for the camera lens isn't the same as the "Barely There Case".

It's the same style of case as the Casemate but not the same case. The Casemate is one of the only super thin cases I've found that protect the camera lens, the one you posted does not. It's also the thinnest of all the ones that I've seen.
There are so many good cases sadly not available in Canada and if they are they are overly priced with shipping. So I have to resort to ebay.
So I'm wondering if anyone has bought the below cases?
Case One - For the price its seems like a good deal, but it has an extra flap that wraps around the back and I think thats going to come in the way when using the tablet.
Case Two - Seems like a copy of the MoKo slim case but it looks good.
The first case looks pretty good and only $1.95 CDN shipped. Might pick one up to try it.

I got the new N7 two weeks ago from EEUU, and now, just few days left to spanish release, where I'm from, there's still no portfolio cases available in my country.
I'd like to buy Poetic Slim because I don't feel comfy with leather frame ones at all, I'm touching it every moment when I slide my fingers on the tablet corners, and the MoKo is too expensive now (about 25$ now, I saw days ago at 0.99$.. lol).
I am looking for a folio case at 20 bucks or less shipped which have wake/sleep, slim finish and no frame... and all ebayers wants to cheat me about 15-20$ for 14-21 days shipping plus 15$ for 10$ amazon case (yeah I know stock problems but what a way to speculate), while DBrand "robots" sent the decal I bought from Canada for 3$ and arrived in ONLY 4 DAYS by ordinary mail :silly:
What do you recommend me? Wait till spanish release or try the second 7$'s one which seems like MoKo?

I got a couple cases from eBay. I've already received the S Line TPU case, which I paid less than $4 shipped for. I also won an auction for a white folio case which was around $1.50 with free shipping from China! Not expecting much, but I'll update when I receive it. Today was day 16, an the seller told me 10-20 days. I'm expecting it Tuesday, since Monday is a holiday.

I got my eBaY TPU s-line case today..Purchased it last Aug.29 for $4.99 shipped. its pretty snug and fit very well with all the ports all cut clean.
I like the matte finish with glossy on the back and the textured side of this case. i choose a solid white color than the transparent one. but i hope that this case stay clean and white.
after installing my extremeguard screen protector here it is.

does anyone know if bestbuy or sprint has release nexus 5 cases in store? i called both and they said not yet or sold out.
I haven't seen any in my area. Even if they did sell some accessories, it would be like any other Android accessories sold at BestBuy... 4,000 iPhone cases, and 2 Android cases per model.
I wouldn't recommend paying for anything from them before doing a bit of research.
For example; I had a Seidio Active case for my HTC One, I got it online for $20. BestBuy had the same case (without the silicone insert) for $35... same kickstand, same cutouts, the exact same case minus the "SEIDIO" across the back.
I went to best buy and they didn't have anything for the nexus 5. T-Mobile did however. They had a tpu case in black or blue. I tried it, it was good. Just wasn't worth 25$ IMO. They were made by tmobile also. T-Mobile also had the Zagg screen protector for 30$. Way overpriced, but it was a must to protect my screen asap, so I bought it. It also comes with a back film for some reason. I did not apply that. Seems silly. I love the way the back feels. But I also love the way the screen feels naked too bad I need protection.

I want a case similar to one like this that can fit one card that isn't as bulky. All the ones I see on amazon has some sort of strap on it or way too bulky. I also scared of that this $10 case might end up costing me much more than that due to it shipping from South Korea. Anyone know any place where I can get one of these in the US? Or at least one similar because I've been looking for days that fit my criteria.
