Hi. I used to be able to get my female Ivona text to speech voice speaking my google satnav directions, but not anymore for some reason. How do I get Ivona to connect with the satnav? I think I remember Ivona still speaking my satnav when changing to Jellybean but it's decided to switch to the default male voice. She reads out my calendar appointments so I know the voice actually works. Also, with Gingerbread, the Ivona voice used to randomly swap with a default voice for some bizarre reason, so is Ivona not intended as compatible with google satnav?

Anyone using Google Mobile App, Google Search (the individual App), or Google Voice?
What are your impressions, pros/cons?
Was just checking them out and wondering...
I use Google Voice and love it. It works very well and getting a text message of a transcription of a voice mail is very nice and much better than having to call in for voice mail.
i use google search and i like the today screen plugin, very cool
Is there anyway to make the google voice as native sms app?
I do not have texting plan from carrier and want to use the google voice to replace my native system app.
How do I do that?
Just use the app and give out ya gv number and have your carrier block texts.... simple
Well that's what I am doing.
My car bluetooth does read the sms that comes to the native app, but does not read what comes to google voice app.
I think if somehow I replace the native app to google voice app this problem will be solved.

You know you get charged right when you receive a text on the native sms app. Make sure google voice isn't forwarding to your phone. If you searched you come across this post. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=25794264#post25794264
I have a txt blocking enable, so I don't get txt on carrier.
My carrier phone is also not listed as cellphone on Google voice so GV doesn't send txt to my carrier phone either.
Is there an addon app for Google Voice that will allow me to select contacts I always want to call with Google Voice and contacts to never call with Google Voice? Trying to find a way to have to touch the screen less and do more.
Voice Choice from the Play Store. Been using it since my first Android phone...free and flawless in my opinion.

I have the MIUI.US 2.12.14 (Android 4.1.2) and can not get any voice recognition apps to work. Not sure if voice recognition is stripped out of this ROM?
When I say I cant get voice recognition to work I mean: I cannot send a message using voice,I cant use a voice search. Even other apps which use voice recognition say that I need to "install google voice search" When I click the link it gives me at the play store but it just doesn't give me an option to install the voice search.
Does anyone have any insight for me on the MIUI 2.12.14 and Voice Recognition?
thanks!
I've tested two Voice to SMS Apps (Text By Voice, and Voice Text). The latter uses Google Voice Search for speech recognition. When I have a hands free bluetooth kit in my car connected, both apps listen through the microphone in the phone, not the hands free mic.
Someone in another forum mentioned the BtMono App (not sure why) and in the description for the app it states "Please note - microphone routing is not possible on Samsung phones and may not be possible on GSM phones" ???
So it seems this is a firmware limitation of the S3?!? That's is very disappointing. With all the talk about being safe while driving, I can't believe an app can't be used to do voice to sms via the remote hands free mic. Even more bizarre is I've seen no one else mention this!? I can't believe I'm one of a few that has tried to achieve this?
...finally found a thread about this...
