hi guys just new here in galaxy grand duos i just wanted to request for a full package of this phone, what i meant for complete/full package is that it contains files which has the following:
PIT file
BOOTLOADER
PDA
PHONE
CSC
why i am asking for complte package?
for a reason that if ever i encounter a bootloop problem that cannot be solved by just factory resetting the phone and the only solution if by jsut flashing the bootloader file.

This are only available on the leak which is full of bugs. You do not need all this files to solve bootloop. The ones available thru sammobile are "official firmware" and assumed to be less buggy than the leak.
If you really want no headache then be like me as I remain on the latest 4.1.2.....No bootloops and no bugs....

Hey Guys.
I am from Germany, so sorry for my bad English. I know of no better forum.
At Windows Mobile-times I was active here. Then I switched to Apple.
Now I am happy owner of a Galaxy Note II GT-N7100 here in Germany (without branding).
Many things have changed and are new to me. I have been searching but found no exact answers to my questions. I also read a lot of different informations. Therefore, I am careful and rather ask.
First the facts, then the questions:
Galaxy Note GT-N7100 II with Build Number JRO03C.N7100XXALJ1 (image infos)
Rooted with Odin and cwm6-root n7100.tar
Everything runs fine with no problems and I am fully satisfied with the smartphone.
This morning, the info came for an OTA update.
I'm not a fan of OTA, so I tried to update via KIES. ( firmware image)
PDA: LJ3 / PHONE: LJ2 / CSC: LJ2 (DBT)
But that did not work because my device was modified. (Image error kies)
Then I looked at Sammobile and discovered the complete firmware. ( Sammobile image)
Now my questions:
1. Is there a way to install the update via KIES?
If so, is there a tutorial somewhere, perhaps Step by Step?
2. If I install the 900MB firmware from Sammobile using Odin, all settings and apps are gone?
3. If I update the firmware, I have to roote again?
4. Can I roote regardless of the firmware with cwm6 n7100.tar-root?
My wish is a guide or tips for the following:
I want my Galaxy Note to keep up to date without each time reinstall.
I want ONLY root and keep those rights.
Maybe I'll try again later also Custom Roms.
I welcome all the tips. If there is somewhere exact answers for that I am pleased with the link. And I'm sorry if I may have already read over answers.
Thx

Hi and welcome
It's normal that with kies you cannot upgrade your firmware on a rooted device.
So
1) use normaly the sammobile firmware you dont go to lose nothing, normally they are non wipe file
2) buy odin mobile on market and flash the firmware with this program, the pay version give you the opportunity of have root.
+1 mobile odin :good:
You can inject root, super user and mobile odin when flashing new firmware
Very handy.

First, thanks for the replies.
So that I understand correctly:
I go get MobilOdin, download the latest firmware (900mb) of sammobile. Then I store the firmware on the SD card and update with MobileOdin. In MobilOdin I select root. All settings and apps keep exist?
Now i read from another user:
As we all know Samsung devices has two or more ways to upgrade their software
Either by OTA & KIES which will keep the user data & preferences or the Odin which will wipe the cache & data .
Thats what i mean ... whats right, whats wrong?

Just flashed latest update from sammobile with mobile odin, and nothing got wiped!
I have now flashed with mobil odin and everything works perfect, many thanks for your tips and replies.
Hi, I am new to all this updating etc, so i have a few humble questions, and hope some of you more familiar with the process could guide in the right direction.
My device is stock with 4.1.2 firmware XXBMC8/XXBMD1
1: My N5100 is India Version so would the German Update / release that is available on sammobile online work on mine.
2: What precautions etc do i have to take on my device if any. When I bought my Note 8 there was an OTA update which ran fine
and gave no issues or data loss.
3. Do I Have to take backups of my apps and have to re-install them ?
4. Any other tips / precautions i am missing.
sorry if am sounding bit paranoid.
Thanks!

1. Yes the German version should work fine for you.
2. I just did a Titanium backup of my apps "in case" there was a wipe before I flashed the update. I have a South African 32GB N5100 the update worked perfectly. However you may not receive future OTA updates due to the ROM being for a different region.
3. Always a good idea.
4. The first time is always the worst, once you see how it is done you may not be able to stop though.

Thanks a lot,
Bit the bullet and went with the update.
Everything went smooth.
only Minor issue I see is that, Kies does not recognize the firmware.
All apps and data seem to be as they were , though I took app backups to pc via helium as well as synced kies prior update in case anything went awry.
Now to find out what's new addition to 4.2.2 other than few things pretty obvious
Thanks again.

I used the Odin3-v1.85 file included in the CF-Auto-Root to flash the image.

Thanks. I figured it out....LOL
Hi All,
I have a problem, its on my wife's phone which makes it a huge problem, shes not very happy with me at the moment.
Her ACE 2 GT-I8160 was running very slow.
I used KIES to update it from 2.3.6 >> 4.1.2
After flashing the firmware with KIES the phone was running very slow, seemed like it wasn't able to handle the new software.
So I tried to flash the firmware back to 2.3.6 using odin.
My wifes phone was bought "off carrier" as a factory unlocked phone.
I downloaded the UK firmware cause I could not see any for the Irish region (we're in Ireland )
"Galaxy Ace 2 GT-I8160 H3G I8160NELG2 Android 2.3.6 06.07.2012 1164437 Unlock Download File"
From what I understand this is the correct stock firmware?
Anyway, I flashed it using odin and now the phone will not get past the samsung logo.
I can boot into download mode but not recovery.
Any help would be very much appreciated and will definitely make my life at home a lot easier.
Cheers.

You have to flash the Russian 2.3.6-firmware first (I8160XXLK6) that consists of three seperated files for ODIN (pit, pda and csc). You can choose it on sammobile, look for the firmware checker to search their firmware archive by model and country (as a new member I am not yet allowed to post the link here).
After flashing your phone should be able to boot again. On this linked page you can also choose the correct Irish provider branded 4.1.2-firmware (METEOR, O2 or Three) that you can flash afterwards if you still want to.
Do not forget to do a factory reset after each flashing procedure!

Thanks for the reply Borgkubus.
Before I saw your post last night I had in fact flashed her phone back to Jelly Bean and was able to open the phone correctly. So flashing back to 4.1.2 got me past the boot logo freeze.
But now I am back to the original problem, the phone with the latest software lags and is so slow to do anything, its very frustrating to use it, so I need to investigate how to fix this.
You talk about installing the Russian ROM, whats the thinking behind this? Would I be able to install this russian rom and then flash to an Irish 2.3.6?
I am a bit apprehensive about using a PIT file, the last time I used one I messed up my S3. Is it safe to use the Russia rom and them falsh to an Irish 2.3.6? This might speed up the phone.
Also, one last thing, doing a factory reset after the flash, what does this do? My understanding is that it removes all user info, will it speed up the OS also?
Thanks again Borgkubus.
First of all, nobody can guarantee the safety of a flashing process. However, by following the common rules when flashing with ODIN you can minimize the risk of a brick. Just do it as soon as you know what you are doing.
The thinking behind using the Russian ROM (XXLK6) is the following: It's the only firmware on sammobile that consists of 3 parts, including the Gingerbread pit file for repartitioning. Doing so I never had any problems when downgrading to 2.3.6. And of course you can flash an Irish firmware afterwards, the Russian one is just an intermediate step.
The factory reset is needed to get a clean install. I recommend you to do this every time after flashing another firmware. This might also solve many problems such as boot loops, lags and so on.
Happy flashing,
Borgkubus
after 6 long frustrating hours i was able to fix it my self thanks for the reply and help xda frndz i did was my device bootloader and modem was already on the 4.4 build and i had installed a 4.3 rom over it that was causing the issue so from the upgrade to 4.4 thread the link i posted earlier i had file named as <UCUENE4_Restore_2> it was the stock 4.4 rom maybe but in the thread it was written that i have to update the bootloader & modem to NE4 before upgrading the rom so in my case the bootloader & modem was already on NE4 the rom was on 4.3 so when i flashed the (UCUENE4_Restore_2 ) file the rom updated to 4.4 baseband was back but no sound still so i downloaded the NE4 modem & bootloader file from androidfilehost.com and flashed it and after a factory wipe it was all ok
now every thing is working fine.
Pics don't work.

Heres my advice. GET A LIFEE Just kidding First, go and get your ROMs from a trusted source. SamMobile is GREAT! They have all stock ROMs ever created for every samsung smartphone, for free. All you have to do is create an account, which is also free. You can pay to get faster download speed (it takes about 40-60 minutes to download a ROM on free) After you are done creating your account, go and search samsung galaxy s3 and choose your carrier and model. Go to the latest rom. you can't downgrade/go lower than what you have (you cant go to 4.1.2 if you have/had 4.3, or go to 4.3 if you have/had 4.4.2), or that will brick your device (however, you can downgrade builds, which are mini updates which include bugfixing and so on). The latest version for most s3's is4.4.2. Its also the last major upgrade samsung will create (there will not be a 4.4.4, or even a lollipop version, unless your thinking CM12). You will also need to extract ALL files from the .zip(whether you have 2, or more files.) and insert them in the appropriate place in ODIN. i recommend using odin 3.07. Before you connect your device, put it in download mode, and make sure only F. reset time and auto reboot is checked. (if you have important files, you can disable F. reset time, as that will preserve them, but there is a risk of boot-loops) good luck with the procedure! If you have questions, feel free to PM me (my posts are not always clear) Leave a like if this post helps.
Sammobile will not have any ROMs for the i747 beyond 4.1.2 as AT&T never released a complete ROM beyond that version.
I was trying to root my samsung galaxy a5 2017 with TWRP and I accidentally deleted system data. Then, I tried rebooting the phone and it got stuck in a bootloop. To fix this problem I tried flashing stock 8.0 firmware from sammobile via odin and I got this error:
Sw rev. Check fail. Device: 6, binary 5. I think that this means I have to flash the latest stock firmware but there isn't a newer one.
After that, I tried to use my phone by flashing a custom rom (Lineage 15.1) and I discovered that I have no imei,no baseband and no ip adress. I have installed many custom roms but the issue is still there. I am trying to get my phone to work with stock firmware and fix the IMEI issue but odin wont let me flash because of that error. I would appreciate if anyone could help. Thanks.
Flash a firmware version that contains S6 or U6 in the middle, it won't work with U5/S5! Not the Samsung phone S5 or S6, but rather, the firmware version.
For cellular, change the modem firmware, or backup and wipe /data/. /data/data/?.
Unless the efs was wiped (probably not if the baseband version isn't there, load a backup then, only if the efs was wiped don't restore it otherwise, and it must not be a backup created with an older twrp, view the recovery log in the backup folder)

Listen to me, it happened to me 2 days ago, and I came to the conclusion that I was not flash the latest firmware. You need to flash the same firmware with the same bootloader or more recent, the error you receive is because you are flashing an older version of bootloader. Do one thing, type the code *#1234# on the phone keypad
mark the code that gives you on 'AP and look it on Sammobile at https://www.sammobile.com/firmwares/galaxy-a5/SM-A520F/ITV/ select your language and look for the firmware with your own code . You will see that odin flash it.
Samsung A520F Custom Binary Error
Hello please I have been trying to reload my Samsung A520F firmware for a couple of weeks
It all started with the phone trying to update (over WIFI) and somewhere along the line files must have gotten corrupted
This led to the phone constantly restart and shutting down applications
I decided to just download the firmware and use Odin to reload. This, unfortunately, didn't go so well as now the phone isn't starting up anymore but can still get to download mode.
PDA firmware is A520FXXUACSE6
Region is EUR
Network is OPEN
every time I use this firmware I get the error
" Custom binary (BOOT) Blocked by FRP Lock
Please note currently at the moment phone refuses to boot up I read about removing OEM lock and don't know if this is the problem.
Please could you help out
