odin back to stock, complete write operation failed?

done a lot of rooting, some theme work, etc.
in this device case friend came from apple to gs3, i rooted, tried stock and stock debloated. he says it froze up a couple times over the course of a week with no reboots except during freeze up. Anyway, he wants go back stock.
i know i have drivers, using same computer used to flash before.
odin recognizes, using stock download from link in developer section, starts up (pda)....then get error
"complete write operation fails"
used stock usb cable
ideas?

wouldnt think be so hard to go back to unroot regular stock....strange

That happened with me too
Please help

Stock Rom
download a different stock rom and retry it. I had that issue with 2 stock ROMS and the 3rd rom worked for me. Good luck.

Me too. Cannot flash by odin!

Other USB Cable
Or disactivate the Samsung "Reactivation Lock"

same problem

Newbie who accidentally deleted the OS

I'm new to Xda and rooting my phone. I recently attempted to root to Android Jellybean 4.2 ROM for the Galaxy Nexus and through the process, I accidentaly deleted the Android Operating System. Not only that...I my computer is no longer able to detect ADB. I am hoping that someone will be able to help me reroot the stock image operating system and help my computer dectect ADB.

I have the Verizon version of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.1.1

your phone does not have 4.2. going back to stock will put you on 4.1.1

uh you do not need usb debugging.
you need fastboot drivers and your phone has fastboot.

I'm sorry. I'm a bit confused right now. I have the universal driver insttalled - what's the fastboot driver? And it seems that my phone does not like to stay in fastboot. I really appreciate your help.

the universal driver contains the fastboot one.
what do you mean it doesnt like to stay in fastboot? its the bootloader...

Yes, but how do I get the stock image onto the phone with the bootloader? I'm using the Nexus Toolkit by WugFresh and I can't seem to get the image pushed to the phone.

you didnt even bother to read the link i posted....
that has all your answers. go read it.

Using the Nexus tool kit all you need to do is make sure you have a good copy of the stock Verizon os downloaded from the Google site (JRO3C0) or whatever it is. Then connect your phone with it powered down. Select the option saying the phone will not start (bricked) and select unroot with factory image and follow the prompts. This will unroot your phone and flash the stock Verizon os. After that I would re-lock the boot loader, disconnect your phone and pull the battery with it still on. After you power it back up you can enable debugging and unlock and root again. Sorry if I called the steps the wrong name as I do not have my computer with me and cannot look directly at the wugfresh tool. Hope this helps out.

[Q] AT&T Note 2 root problem with Odin

Trying to use the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 Toolkit donated and got the update for 4.1.2 and still having a problem with odin , any help ?

Try Heimdall... it's what I use personally (or have to, as I use Linux).

Ok, then scroll to the bottom of the page I linked you to. and find the 1.3.1 Windows Suite.
It should come with a readme of some sort, but I wouldn't know.
I can however say that it works just fine for me and might be a good alternative if Odin is failing you.

Does this work the same as the galaxy toolkit ?

I'm actually not sure, as I have never used that tool.
It would be best to ask in the GNote2 Toolkit thread for our device.

Because everything on the Gnote Toolkit works perfect untill i get to odin and the blue light dont come on like its suppose to and i cant post in that forum because i dont have 10 posts yet or i would

Well, im gonna ask a few questions since you gave very limited info.
You are in Download mode correct?
You have verified the drivers installed correctly?
Are you using a USB 3.0 port? Ive seen that cause problems.
Are you using the stock cable?
Just a few things to help solve the issue.

yes im using the stock samsung usb cable i am in download mode i have verified and installed all the correct drivers correctly

Does Odin recognise the device? Do you have kies installed?

I have note 2 gt-n7100 when I bought it it was running android 4.1.2 after a few weeks I updated it to 4.3 but I noticed that the download mode screen changed and additional details appeared like knox an warranty void which wasn't apear before but the strange thing is that the old download mode start to appear again when I use kies but it is use less and not download any thing seems like I have 2 download modes but I can't maje any of them default or delete the other altough when I press home and power and volume down the new one always appear.. I rooted my devise using odin and there was no problem then the new update of kitkat 4.4.2 comes to france I couldn't wait then i downloaded it flashing it using odin again and rooted it with no problrm via odin and philz touch .. a few weeks i tried to connect it to odin to downgrade it to 4.3 again but it didn't appear in odin ! i thought that it could be somthing in the new software like they have stoped flash player of working so i thought that they possible avoid using odin or someting like that .. i tried using mobile odin buy chain fire and i flashed 4.3 again but the root permission was lost .. i tried again to connect it with odin but nothing changed at all i tried every possible way to use odin again installing the new drivers required and the latest version of odin and using another pc and cables altough all of them was working with no problem after 4.3 version .. tried every possible one clike root app like framaroot and etc .. tried the adb mode via my pc and it said kernel is patched I updated it to 4.4.2 again via the built in software update and nothing changed .. any way to solve that re root my mobile again !!! .. it seems like a hopeless case :'( help me please and for any additional details I will reply immediately .. thx in advance and sorry for my bad english

You can try towelroot also. Google it. If I remember correctly the site is called the same way dot com. Geohot made it.

i tried it today but nothing changed only my mobile rebooted but still have no root access ! nothing changed unfortunately .. please help and thx for your reply

Which bootloader are you on now.?
Check with phone app info from play store.
And make sure the bootloader is the same/correct for your actual rom.

the debugging mode is checked via the developer options in the settings but don't know if there Is any missing options shoul I do !

I rooted with the method 3 but for the OTA firmware update i unrooted. But after that i am unable to root again with method 3. plz help..

I rooted my phone with method 3 with stock .165, j just make sure you have the latest 1 click root kit. Restart your phone then try it again.

I Checked, I apply method 1

I have tried to root my ZF2 using method 3 and nothing happens...was successful before the latest update but nothing now....
And when I attempt to root it using method 2 see a response flicker on the screen for a very short time saying "unauthorised"...is this something to do with the latest update or something else? Anyone seen this before?

1. Wrong thread.
2. Wrong forum :silly:
3. This One Click Root is only for ZenFone 2 devices.
4. I don't think that AT&T devices could be unlocked. Not only AT&T, Verizon does the same thing too. Maybe you could look for working root method on this forum.

Did you check/enable USB debugging mode in Developers Option? Then try again. Check also in Device and Printer in your PC if your MTP has no yellow warning sign. If it does then you need to update your drivers correctly.

have you check using command promt that you asus device is detected. Better use the stock USB chord of ASUS. IF you have done all of that stuff, then I don't know how to help you anymore..
