[Q] Wlan problem due to nandroid backup - HTC One X

Hello guys,
I have an HTC One X with Vodafone DE branding. I had ICS 4.1.1 and Clockworkmod installed and tried to update my phone to 4.2.2. This didnt work due to the recovery. I searched and found that i should flash a stock RUU to update the firmware, but the only RUU i found was UK_2.17.161.4 and I had 3.14.161.28. The flash always aborts with the error 155, even with the stock recovery. The nandroid backup by [email protected]|-|oR for 3.14.161.27 worked, but I can't enable WLAN (I also got no Mac-Address, like it is an hardware error, but it worked before). What next steps should I take? I just want to have 4.2.2 and working WLAN/SIM, I dont even care about root anymore :<
CID: VODAP102
HBOOT-1.39.0000, S-ON
Edit:
I now installed InsertCoin CustomRom, which solved all Problems.
Anyway, if anyone got some information why the flash of the RUU failed or the WLAN didn't work, i would appreciate to know

[Q] Help flashing RUU

Hi,
Im trying to restore my phone to stock, I am currently on ARHD rom and the phone is an Optus branded phone. I have flashed the stock recovery back on and re-locked the bootloader. I then ran the Optus RUU and it got to a screen on the phone saying HTC and the PC said Sending.. After about a minute it gave an error saying the RUU could not be installed.
Any idea on what I can do to fix it?
What was the exact error? If you've updated your bootloader then you won't be able to go back

You won't be able to run the RUU because if you have updated your Optus ROM from 1.26.980.3 t01.28.980.10 the HBOOT and in the RUU is .43 compared to the updated one which is .94 in which case will give you an error. You can't downgrade the HBOOT.
You can do 2 things:
!. wait for the 1.28.980.10 RUU to come out
or
2. if you made a backup of your ROM before flashing ARHD, restore that and then flash stock recovery and then re-lock the phone.
Same here but I'm on H3G UK of course updated 1.28.... But if I seen right now available on HTC.dev the 1.28 and many others have been uploaded

[Q] 1.29 update failed

I have a bootloader unlocked HTC one X running on 1.28. I got the 1.29 update notification today, but it kept failing when I try to install it. I am on Clockworkmod. It says cannot mount SD card. And I renamed it and deleted the assert cid thing, it failed without a reason.
And I tried to flash back to stock recovery, it still did not work. Do I really need to lock the bootloader to get this work? That's so troublesome.
Anyone can help me? Thank you very much in advance.

as far as i did my last OTA am on a branded phone. I restored my backup stock rom installed stock recovery and downloaded the OTA and installed fine. No need to relock bootloader or anything else. have you tried rebooting your phone and trying again? or have you flashed the proper stock recovery mate
Doesn't work for me either, puted the stock restore,i even relocked my bootloader and still nothing,it doesn't seem to work,i will try to update trough recovery mode, hope that will work.

Same here, any solutions
I don't think that i will try to update to 1.29 anymore,i read on a site that 1.30 will be lauched very soon,so i will try to update to 1.30 when it will came up.I don't know what else to do,i mean,i've tryed everything and still no luck with this update.
I have exactly same issue as you,but what I think if its be realise of 1.30 for us be same problem if we don't find any solution now.
I'm in Japan. I've tried that, nothing worked.
Mine is unbranded. I've tried all of them. I've had enough of it.
It won't work. Don't waste your time.
No solutions seemed to work so far. My choice is to ignore it.
Yes, me too. No more 1.29.
Same here, was 1.28 and unlocked the bootloader and rooted. Tried CWM method but doesn't work and hope someone will have solution to this.
I have same problems i surf a lot today, and I find that my problem is that 1.29 Update CID is different from my phone CID. U can get u CID by cidgetter from store. And if u try to flash update by cwm it shows what Phone CID's supporting update witch u have. Just try to check this guys, thats what i find and my opinion it should work.
I think my solution to find update witch supports HTC__001 CID
So basicaly you are saying to download the update and then reboot the phone, enter in recovery mode (cwm) and then try to flash the 1.29 update that we've downloaded?i allready tryed that and it doesn't work, gives me an error and stops.if it's a CID problem can't we just put our HOX CID into the update?i think that i've seen somewhere on xda a metod to do that but i don't remember in which topic.

if it possible to change CID in update,so yeas its solution witch we need. But I don't know how to do it.
I think we will skip the 1.29 update and wait for the next one.I'v just read on the forum that version 1.32 was released (nothing confirmed yet, just some pc screenshots),maybe that version will work.I will check periodicaly for the 1.32 update and see if it works.
I found a thread talking about deleting the lines about CID in a update-script file or something similar. I've tried that, but still ended up with error. I am going to give up.
Did any of you flashed something on 1.28?I am thinking that after i updated to 1.28 i flashed the 3 dot removal.Maybe this is the cause that the update fails?
I haven't flashed anything, just rooted flashed cwm and superU. No updates gonna work for us till we get S-OFF its just one solution. Follow guys in S-OFF Discussion they progressed a lot on it. If they crack our S-ON to S-OFF we can do with our phones whatever we want to do. And install whatever we want to install including updates. Now just wait...

[Q] Updated to JB but no WIFI / BT /phone signal

Hi all,
Just spent the last six hours trying to get my One X onto JB- well I got it on finally but now have lost WIFI/BT/Data and signal.
I started with bootloader 00.93.0000 I think, then attempted to install JB. This didn't work... So I tried to upgrade the bootloader to 1.31.
I then installed RUU 2.17.401.2 Radio 2.1204.135.20 trying to revert the damage of installing JB with wrong bootloader and upgrade the bootloader thinking .91 was the reason I couldnt update using fastboot commands, it would always hang as it was pushing the file.
I think the above RUU gave me the wrong radio. (was asking for date/time on bootup)
I then used the JBFWTOOL which have me the 1.31 bootloader and then I reflashed Revolution HD 14.
I then installed revolution 9.7.2 thinking it was to do with JB but this hasn't worked either.
It worked the second time around but I have no signal/bt/wifi.
Device ID is HTC_001 s-on
Believe it was O2 but was unlocked I use a 3 sim card in it.
I can still get to the bootloader menu etc
I don't know what else to do. The RUUs wont work due to bootloader and I haven't found any info on just changing wireless packacges like you can with odin.
Please help!
you never mentioned flashing the boot.img
1- update bootloader(seems you already did) and unlock and install cust.recovery
2- flash the boot.img file included in ARHD's rom.zip from the bootloader, fastboot flash boot C:/location_of_boot.img_on_pc
3- install the arhd rom.zip from cust.recovery
Note: sadly since you have installed a new hboot (anything greater than 1.23) there is no way to use an old RUU (ICS), new RUU's wont be released anytime soon (unless leaked)
hence, i recommend properly installing your JB and stick with it, after all its much better than ICS , unless you experience one of the hardware bugs.
Once the newer (1.33) bootloader is released(should be this week), it should fix all currently known bugs, and then you are safe to flash use latest ARHD or Maximus Roms for daily use.

[Q] HTC One X doesn't work, error 7 on setup any(!) ROM

Device: HTC One X AT&T USA, Android 4.0.4
HBoot 1.14 (unlocked), S-ON, cid: 11111111 (was CWS__001), rooted (CWM-SuperSU-v0.96)
Hi,
I have sim-unlocked AT&T HTC One X that I bought in USA last year and used it in 'as is' condition. A week ago it got to cyclical reboot. I made factory reset, but of course I lost all my data. In this case I decided to upgrade HBoot and setup lastest CyanogenMod (yeap, I thought I have nothing to lose ).
I re-writed cid to supercid, unlocked flashboot, rooted the phone... but made a mistake and flashed CyanogenMod boot.img before upgraded Hboot *facepalm*.
And now it's unable to load android (it just shows HTC logo with red warning text).
Of course, I tried to restore original Boot from backup, but this didn't help.
I'm able to open Bootloader and custom recovery menu (recovery-clockwork-6.0.3.1-evita.img), but unable to install any ROM (tried to use ROMs that are based on ICS, because my Hboot 1.14) - it always returns me error 7, even if all requirements are met. Tried to remove asserts from updater-script , but in this case it just shows 'Opening update package... Installing update... Installation aborted.'
I tried almost all that I found in web, used different backups and ROMs, but nothing helped.
I also tried to flash stock RUU (european, since I didn't find USA version - btw does it matter?) , but it getting Error 132 - Signature error.
Please could somebody help me to return my phone to a working state? Any advices are truly appreciated!
P.S. Unfortunately on one of the steps I lost my original backup (sdcard was formated).
Thanks.
You CANNOT INSTALL A RUU THAT DOESN'T MATCH YOUR CID !
Also you are in the wrong forum mate, since this is for the international tegra 3 HOX ONLY !, with may be the cause of your trouble
Please visit the AT&T HOX forum and you will find all you need
Yeah go the at+t forum and there you can s-off your evita HTC one XL ! Then you can install any ruu, update and downgrade the bootloader

HTC One M8 5.0.1- Blacked After OTA Update Failed

HELP, I've bricked my phone.
I'll try to be as brief as possible.
I had android 5.0.1 (4.16.401.10). unlocked bootloader, installed TWRP, rooted.
a few months later today, my phone had an OTA update notification (4.16.401.13), tried to do it, failed and it kept sending me to TWRP.
Googled it, people said I should restore the stock recovery, I did, tried to install the OTA again. phone got stuck on splash screen.
From there I have been online for hours trying to fix this but nothing. (there has been many flashing attempts, some fail some success) so the phone is pretty much a mess now.
My question is, what's the easiest way (if there is) to just restore the phone to stock firmware? I don't care if it's going to be rooted or not, I don't care if It's going to be wiped, I just need it to work.
Currently I have (relocked) bootloader, S-On
Thanks.
Same problem here, Got this update yesterday and stuck at the splash screen.
rooted, S-on, stock recovery
tried everything from changing recovery, FUU, RUU, nothing worked
Fortunately, I have full NAND backup months ago ( old,but better than nothing), restore it, update the new update and everything looks ok so far.
I suspect its related to the xposed relared problem as the old backup its not installed.

Sorry if this is a noob question, but how can I do that? is there somewhere where I can download backups and restore them on my phone? And if so, will I need anything like an S-Off or something?
Because I've tried everything else I think, I tried RUU (both from PC or from bootloader, and with both Unlocked and Relocked bootloader) and nothing seems to work.

I finally got mine to work today!!
What worked with me is this:
I got the RUU Zip file for my CID, renamed it to 0P6BIMG.zip , and copied it to the root of my SD Card (using an adapter or using TWRP to mount it)
then I flashed the stock recovery for my phone, then RELOCK your bootloader (fastboot oem lock)
Onve you've done all that just put the SD card in your phone and boot it in bootloader mode (Vol Down + Power) and it should detect the 0P6BIMG.zip file automatically and ask you if you want to update it.
P.S: I have S-On and it worked.
I hope this helps.
