[Q] Galaxy Note 2 Connecting @ 72Mbps ONLY - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

Guys,
Need your help here please.
I have just invested in a an Asus 802.11AC router but i am only getting my ATT Galaxy Note 2 (SGH-i317) to connect at 72Mbps. I had the same issue with my previous Cisco N router.
I have tried both the 5Ghz and the 2.4Ghz bands. I even tried auto.
Any ideas please?
Thanks

[Q]How much 802.11n does it actually have?

802.11n includes a number of "optional" features, so how much of it does the Galaxy Nexus actually implement?
My Wifi router supports 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands simultaneously with different SSIDs, but the Galaxy Nexus only ever sees the SSID of the 2.4GHz AP. So I suppose it does not support 802.11n in the 5GHz band?
Also, even when standing right next to the router, it showed only a 65Mbps connection. Shouldn't that go to at least 150Mbps? And actually higher if MIMO is supported?
If the Galaxy Nexus' "802.11n" doesn't support anything better than 2.4GHz band with 65Mbps, it's a fake - 802.11g does 2.4GHz/54Mbps, so the "802.11n"-support boils down to be effectively nothing.
Has anyone managed to get better Wifi results with the Galaxy Nexus?
i think the gnexus is only supposed to support 2.4ghz band if i remember correctly. i get the same, 65mbps. all is good though i get great speeds and more distance. if 5ghz is in the hardware then software doesn't support it yet.
It does support 5ghz. Go to settings and then press wifi. Press the menu on the bottom right and select advanced. Then, wifi frequency band.
Weird... My WNDR3700 running DD-WRT is setup for 2.4 and 5GHz... My MacBook Pro is connected to the 5GHz SSID, but that is not displaying on my available wireless networks on my GNex...
The wifi settings are set to "auto", but even when set to only use 5GHz, it still doens't list it.
I'm connected to my 5GHz network right now so yes it does support it.

I'm connected to my 5Ghz network as well, however I'm only seeing 65 Mbps connection speed. Are you seeing a better speed?
Wi-fi performance for file transfers have been pretty abismal. Using the app andFTP and the sftp protocol I can only get about 1300kbps download speeds.
I get a weak WiFi signal on both spectrums compared to my DInc, DX, & DX2.

My Galaxy Nexus connects to my 5ghz just fine. One problem though, the phone shows signal of my 5ghz lower than the 2.4ghz in the same spot and I'm meters away from my router.

[Q] Anyone with a D-Link router have their Gnex interrupt signal??

Whenever I connect my Galaxy Nexus to my or a friend's D-Link router, the signal will slow down immensely (even on wired desktop connections) and eventually kill my internet until I restart the router.
This happen to anyone else? My router is the D-Link DIR-615
Hi. I have a d-link d-615. I don't have this issue you describe and I'm always connected along with my ps3. My problem is data speeds which I can't seem to get anywhere above 7.9 mbps.

Might want to check for a firmware update on the router. Sounds like a broadcast storm.

Your GN and other devices are having connection issues? Sounds like the DIR-615 is the culprit. Hard to tell without knowing what is running in the background.

It's only my Galaxy Nexus having the having/causing the issue. My old Blackberry and my brother's iPhone 3GS can connect to my wireless just fine

Mind telling me which firmware your 615 is running, and also which revision it is?
Mine is Hardware Version B2, Firmware Version 2.25
Hi. I'm on hardware c1 and firmware 3.10na. What d/l speeds do you get?

As fast as my internet connection allows (on both my laptop [wireless] and my desktop [wired])
EDIT: Just looked on D-Link's website, there are no firmware updates available for my router

[Q] Wifi drops on my Note 2 (Tab 2 no problems)

Hi All,
I have a problem with my wifi connection.
It's keep dropping the speed, and i dont know what to do.
The speed i have is:
Samsung Galaxy Note 2 (4.1.1) 1.87 Mbps
Samsung Galaxy Tab 2.0 7" 32.12 Mbps
So i dont think the problem is in my router but in my Note 2....
So what can i do to fix the problem ?

Does Galaxy Note 2 support 5G wifi?

I bought a dual signal wifi router recently and was surprised that my note 2 can connect with 5G,but it is not stable. My rom is DN3 4.4.2. Does anyone can help?
thanks

My router is dual band and I have not noticed any instability. I have not tried fixing the connection to 5GHz only though. (It's an AVM 7390)
I may try later.
only the n standard, not the newest ac standard (which is wifi in the 5 GHz frequencies) as far as i know (and the spec sheets i looked up)
Routers are usually downwards compatible, so thats why your note can connect I think
Mine connects to the 5Ghz spectrum just fine, though it's worth remembering the range is severely crippled compared with 2.4Ghz

[PROBLEM] Wirelles 5ghz AC drops

Hello!
I upgraded my wirelles N home router to a TPlink Archer C7 AC to watch 1080p over my wirelles LAN.
My P601 connect and navegate on the internet @5ghz AC but if i tried to transfer a large file or watch a streaming video, the connection drops or freeze all the time and just back when i reboot note 2014...
Already tried to upgrade the router for the last firmware and disable the wifi power saving in P601.
For now i can streaming videos in 2.4ghz band (not 1080p content) and using 5ghz band i can watch 1080p but using N old protocol...
So... the problem is... what is the problem with Note 2014 kikat 4.4 and the 5GHZ AC connections?? Its very frustading buy a expensive AC router and use only in N speeds...

Try using WEP on 5Ghz AC and see if it helps.

will try but WEP will decrease the AC network speed??

I get over 150mbps down with WEP on my Asus rt-68ru router so I don't see why you should have problems. just make sure you have all the bandwidth options setup right.

Don't forget that 5GHz has a much shorter range than 2.4GHz; since the -AC standard has higher thruput it will also need more signal and what's probably happening is the OP has just enough signal to connect, but not stay connected, especially during periods of high thruput.
My router is running 5 Ghz AC and note seems to just work, not speedtested

Same here (Asus AC-1750), but I can't go outside while on 5GHz as the signal is attenuated too much thru several walls.
(FWIW, I bought an Engenius EAP600 last week and it's been phenomenal- I can even get good 5GHz outside now, but the 2.4GHz N signal blows away all the 2.4GHz APs in my 'hood so I just stay on 2.4GHz now for the range.)
