Hi,
I'm get blocks and pixel issues when viewing videos or recording them... see video:
This happens when I view any videos on the tablet, or record videos...
Should I return it? or should I wait for an update to the software?

Got 2.2 from the latest OTA and have been encountering some video issues. Just wondering if anyone else has them, and if there are fixes.
The major issue I have is videos lag and stutter. With 2.1, 720p videos recorded from the rear camera worked flawlessly. Now, those videos have short stuttering pauses every second. It makes it very hard to watch. 480p videos do not exhibit this problem.
Is it because the data is not being streamed off the SD card quick enough? Some evidence to that is that the thumbnails in the Gallery take noticeably longer to show up.
In 2.1, when I long press on a video in Gallery and select Details, it would show resolution and framerate. This info is not present in the current Gallery. Is there a fix for that?
I'm particularly interested in framerate, because in 2.1, I noticed that videos would be recorded at low fps when the lighting was dark. (some vids I have even dropped to 10 fps!) Perhaps HTC couldn't fix the low fps recording problem and instead just swept it under the run by not displaying the framerate info at all.
Videos played through Rockplayer worked fine in 2.1. Now, the audio is just loud static. Is this related to the codec change in 2.2?
When I come across a .3gp video file with Astro, clicking on it will come up with a "3gp file type missing" message. A workaround of longpress-> open will open it, though.

Juddery ? I'm assuming you mean jittery or stuttering.

i had some lag with 720P and had to reboot the phone it worked good fore a few mins then did it again. i havent tried 1080p but i assume it would do the same since its even more higher def.
ZERO stuttering or pausing on the current CyanogenMod 10.1 build. Just tested it with YouTube.
Can not comment on stock software as I never tried it.
When i attempt to watch any video such as the preloaded videos, the screen automatically darkens regardless if the set brightness. This occurs only on the official Videos app. Is there any way to fix this? The preloaded videos only work in this app.
If I'm on the phone and I'm watching a video on YouTube for example, the audio for YouTube becomes unclear and choppy. I have always been able to watch YouTube videos while on the phone on my Nexus 5 with perfect audio. Is this a common problem for the Moto Z Play or is there an issue with just my phone?

Did you side load your N or was it an authorized ota?
If side load then you have same issue as @Terepin.
Else you shown why it is not wise to take N so soon.
Authorized ota, I actually got the phone recently and just did basic updates to it. It's still Android 6.0.1

My VZW is fine. Make sure your YT app is updated
It's not just YouTube, it's also videos on Instagram and Snapchat, but I'm having this problem while I'm taking on the phone and watching a video
Anyone encounter camera issue in scenario below?
1. "Video Capture Failed" when trying to send video via app camera (such as posting story via Instagram, sending video via messenger camera)
2. Video keep processing indefinitely while sending video via WeChat Camera
3. Video playback on Gallery/Files by Google will pop up error "Video Can't Play"
Capturing photo is fine but the issue only related to videos
There is no one mentioning this issue across X30 forums. I wonder any Moto Edge X30 owner face this issue as well?
