I have a galaxy that is stuck at the the "Samsung Galaxy III" screen. I was going to try to use the recovery mode but before I did I was wondering if there was anyway I could access the internal hard drive to retrieve some files. Is there away to recover my files?
Well tell us a little more what where you doing or attempting when it got stuck? Are you rooted?

Hey your only option now is to go into download mode and use odin to reflash phone to stock.

Okay, thanks. That's what I was going to do this evening.
I had read that this http://www.sxtpdevelopers.com/showthread.php?t=233 thread had the stock from. Should both the ""Restore" Versions - Wipes your user data" and the ""Nodata" Versions - Keep your user data"" work?
Also, is that the only file I have to flash or do I have to flash the "Modem/Kernel" file also?

Correct on the data... But I would just flash the stock tar instead of the one clicks but that's just me. Give it a shot... You should not have to flash modem but you can always go back and do that later.

Is it rooted? Go into custom recovery from it is wipe cache, Dalvik and do factory reset. Reboot and go through process to log into Google

It's not rooted. the option is to wipe cache partition. Is that the one I should wipe?
Also, might be another dumb question but does the setup wizard need service? I had switched to my old phone when this happened and haven't activated it yet. Do I need to? Or will the setup wizard work without service?

I have a phone that has a broken screen. I am selling it for parts and would like all of my information off of it. I know how to use ODIN and ADB.
Are there commands through ADB that I can use to wipe the device? Is there a full-wipe ODIN image that I can flash to the phone? I would like it to be free of my data before I send it off.
I tried using Android Screen Cast, but all I get is a black screen when I open the program. Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Hello,
Every time i try to install a ROM. "Using twrp or cwm" Rom installs "Says successful with twrp" i reboot and they all get stuck at the first splash screen. I have no idea why. At the moment i am trying to install hyperdrive ROM. And it does the same thing. I have not been able to install a custom ROM yet. Every time it is the same situation. I have to flash to a stock ROM with odin to get my phone working every time. Then update re root re install twrp and try again. But to no avail i always get the same problem , being stuck on the first splash screen. Weather it be the Sprint s3 screen or a custom ROM splash screen. Would be awesome if someone could help. Thanks a bunch! I would be so grateful.

Redownload the ROM and check for md5(i think CNexus have a link on his sig), and use TWRP 2.3.3.0. There is a thread with flashables.

Make sure you are using the ones for Sprint GS3.

Checked md5 and sure enough they did not match. Though now i am having a problem getting them to match. I have tried downloading 6 times now using different mirrors and every time they do not match. Guess the cell phone gods don't want me to use custom roms >.< Leh sigh...

are you downloading to computer or to phone? I suggest computer then copy to phone using a heavy duty cable. I know this seems to be the long way around but it is the best and safest.

This is very good advice & should be the standard for all flashing. Downloading and installing via OTA does work but also has more instances of incorrect md5 (bad download) than direct to PC...
I actually am downloading to my pc then transferring it to the sd card on my phone with the cable that came with the s3.

Not saying this is your issue and I've never had it happen to me but have you tried using a CWM recovery? Some say certain ROMs will only flash w/certain recoveries. Maybe try mixing it up & see what happens?
Thats actually what i was thinking right now. Just tried cwm and got the same thing. Sitting here now about 10 min on the splash screen for Hyperdrive Rom. Dont think its going to work. What i don't get is everything always says successfully installed. Then i wipe cache and delvik again. reboot and wait for the first boot up and nothing. Still sitting here with the splash screen. Thinking of making a video step by step of what i am doing and posting it.... Its frustrating. Thanks for the reply. Every bit helps.

Yes, it is possible. But the dev would need to provide the rom in a .tar form, and as far as I know none of them do

Ok this may sound stupid, create a subfolder in your sd storage, if you can do it on the external SD card even better. Name the subfolder whatever you want but I would start it with the letter A so it's always at the top of your list of folders. When you go into recovery do a factory reset and then choose to flash rom from whichever storage location you placed it in and go to the folder you created and placed it in. The reason I'm saying this is because sometimes other locations may ad a sub directory designation to your file which will corrupt the file and md5. Just a suggestion you have nothing to loose. And again what rom are you flashing?

Double check the MD5 after your transfer I noticed you said the use the stock cable. I HIGHLY recommend a BB cable heavy duty cable. I have used a BB cable for many years and never had a problem with flashing.

Have you tried waiting? Because I know when I'm flashing a ROM I don't know why but with EVERY ROM when I install it and it says install successfull I have to wait a couple minutes because its actually not done its still installing stuff if you have trwp it will tell you the progress as its going even though it says installation complete.

Hi, I had the ROM DARTHSTALKER... and then I installed the Jedi elite to try a different one, but i wanted to go back to recover some messages of a girl, so I tried to restore the DARTHSTALKER backup from the ROM Jedi. It ended up in a loop, rebooting constantly... now I tried to UN-root it to begin from 0 and it keeps rebooting and telling me at the beginning in red: recovery is not seandroid enforcement and then some times if it loads, i says: optimizing apps... and then it says Finishing boot (it stays there for a while) and then the T-Mobil logo appears (it stays there for a while) and it reboot... After that it boots until it says: "process system isn't responding" and I have 2 options, wait or close, none of them work
How can I fix this I'm using TWRP Recovery

you will need manually flash most likely the saberkernel green. Once you have it up and running, update your twrp. The older versions of recovery had restore issues.

Download the kernel .zip file and place on your sdcard . Hold down home+power+volup buttons to boot into recovery. Then flash the zip like any thing else.
Once back into the rom, use goomanager from play store. click menu and install recovery scrpit. Once done, it will ask you do you want to install twrp 2.6.3.7. yes you want to do this. Twrp 2.6.3.1 dn has known issues with the Note 3

On here's what you do, as I had the EXACT same problem that you have. I fixed my brickloop by doing the following:
(I would backup your efs partition before doing this, just for completeness sake)*
Installed Stock firmware via Odin,*
Installed TWRP 2.6.3.2 via odin, rebooted to recovery
Did an "adb shell" when phone is in recovery mode to run commands via TWRP
From the ADB shell: Wiped the EFS partition with the following command:
mke2fs /dev/block/mmcblk0p12*
mkdir /efs
mount -t ext4 /dev/block/mmcblk0p12 /efs
(the last two commands probably did nothing, but thats what I did anyway)
Did a Factory Reset*
Then... reboot to system
Afterwards, no more boot looping, the phone successfully registered on the mobile network, and my IMEI is there and correct. Seems like the EFS partition can rebuild itself now I guess...These commands can also be ran from TWRP

Not to sound like a jerk...but this is the reason why companies lock down bootloaders and what not. You can fix this issue that you caused by following a few steps or getting an SDCARD reader for your computer and transfer the files to it that way. They are dirt cheap. It is not Tmobiles fault that you screwed up a flash. Just my 2 cents.
My Note 2 got stuck on boot. Every time I switch it on, it gets stuck on boot screen showing "Samsung Note II". I tried Hard resetting it but of no use. I even tried to do update from SD Card and tried flashing Already downloaded CM 12.1 made by @Ivan_Meler 's latest build. I was having this build already in my phone for last 15 days and it was working fine.
But now I am not able to anything with it now. I even went to Sumsung service center but guys there told me that you have it custumized and hence we cant do anything on it now.
Now While trying to flash any zip update from SDcard1, it is throwing error like "E: Couldn't mount/ block device required"

Please somebody help me.

flash stock rom using odin then restore your efs if needed
Just Format Data in TWRP > Wipe.
CAUTION : It will wipe everything except Memory Card.

Im having the same problem, Note II(UNROOTED) was stuck on Boot screen. I've tried the recovery method(holding power/home/volume up button) but to no avail.

Are You Able To Enter In Download Mode?

I've tried factory reset but it did not fix the issue.
Download mode? was it the screen that tells me that installing custom OS can cause critical problems? If yes, then yeah i can enter the download screen.

Thanks for the prompt assistance,
but am I doing it right?
Im currently downloading firmware from Sammobile site and Odin3.10.
Or is there another way (or thread) wherein I can find the stock rom you've mentioned and also the tools for flashing?
Thanks.

Just finished flashing with Odin but the problem still exists. My phone is still stuck in the boot screen eventhough it has the message "PASS" on Odin.
Am I missing any step or still needs to proceed further? What will be my next step.
Thanks

Done with the recovery clear cache and reset but it still loops on the boot screen.
Will rooting(or other methods) resolve this issue? Can i still root my phone at this state?
Hope you could still extend a few assistance here. I would really appreciate it. Thanks.
