Im thinking about unlocking my phones SIM lock and bootloader lock and i would like to know if wotanserver and omnius-server uses the same way to unlock?
Will my DRM keys be lost?
And what happends if i flash the phone with a sony stock rom after i have unlocked it? Will my phone be bricked?
If you go by Sony Ericsson method your DRM keys will be erased however if you do it via test point they will stay in tact.....and about the difference between Wotan and omnius I don't believe they use different methods but they might

Ok so i just got a Sony Xperia Play 3 days ago, and i rooted it, but when it comes to custom roms i am lost. I have have been installing custom roms sense the G1 days and many after. all were fairly easy but this phone seems to be a challenge. this bootloader issue seems to be unsolved, i want it install custom roms on my Sony Xperia Play (R800x) but some people say it's IMPOSSIBLE to unlock the verizon bootloader. but meanwhile I constantly see threads here about Roms for the Sony Xperia Play that require a unlocked bootloader!? if is't so impossible then why do people provide roms that require unlocked bootloaders?
It is possible to unlock an R800X Using the testpoint method. But that will cost you $25. Or around that ammunt.

Get ahold of Alejandrissimo
i want to unlock Sony ericson xperia pro (mk16i) to install custom roms
But i m worried about warranty issue...
Is relocking boot loader of my device Mk16i recovers warranty???...
you can unlock your bootloader by 2 methods
1)doing it thru official sony website
2)test point method...
when done using official sony website, you lose your drm keys(useless) but thru test point method you dont lose those..however, relocking bootloader can only be done on sony unlocked bootloaders to gain your warranty back.....
hit thanks if i helped.

First of all Many many Thanx for reply, Because i was waiting for reply many hours...
Actually i have unlocked xperia pro boot loader without any safety knownlodge but know i relise...
So relocking bootloader will back warranty again??ARE U 100% SURE????
is there any danger from deleting drm files to warranty?
i m going to hit thanx button on ur reply, please reply fast
see drm keys are used only for stupid purposes like trackid and othr utterly useless stuff drm keys never cause problems for warranty because people who use their phones normally can also lose those drm keys...
and yes, relocking a bootloader will give you back your warranty(thanks to sony who does not keep a record of unlocked bootloader phone's imei number)
but remember that relocking can only be done on bootloders that are unlocked using the official method...
Il make this brief :silly:,
Basically I had CM9 ROM on my phone and things kept messing up (going really slow rebooting etc.) and I re-locked my boot loader and flashed back with a stock FTF file now I can't re unlock my boot loader, there's no notification on the service menu so I'm guessing I cant re-unlock it which is quite annoying because I want CM9 back, I got so used to it now stock is just crap. Hopefully someone has an answer for me I'd really appreciate it.
Well if sony's way don't work then you may have use use Wotan server or contact Alejandrissimo for a unlock

Pay for your bootloader to be unlocked is the way to go. Not only that but you will get to know Android a little more.
I tried unlocking my Rogers R800i so I could use a Bell tablet plan on it just for data but no site could find me an unlock code. It had a custom rom on it but I flashed a stock rom before I gave them my IMEI so that's probably not it. I even found the IMSI to make sure it was the right provider but now it says its Bell and that its a R800a. I searched SIM lock and it had an "X" and then all 5s before and now its all blanks in between the [] brackets.
What can I do to fix this (if its broken) or is there a pretty safe software unlock I could use?
I know one of you brilliant people can help me with this.
Thank you all in advance.
Well I believe the r800a is not unlockable as far as BL and sim unlock so you might be screwed

I have unlocked the bootloader before which is how I flashed a different rom using this application called "Lupus." It used to read as a R800i but now its an R800a for some reason.
Hello.
I have a Xperia Z1c, bootloader unlocked and rooted, on 4.4.2 (14.3.A.0.757). I tried mirrorlink with my Sony XAV602BT car audio and get an error when connecting (error code 42). It worked with my xperia SP so I don't thing the car unit is faulty.
Do you thing DRM rights may be a cause (I unlocked bootloader) ?
Thanks
Possibly, I can't use NFC with my W9 Bravia and put it down to the fact that my BL is unlocked, where as my locked BL Z had no issues. They do warn you this might happen so can't complain really.
Sent from the app on my Z1C...
no complain at all... just want to know.
I will restore TA and see...
Yep... Coming back to locked BL with TA and mirrorlink works.
Have the same Problem with a Xperia Z1 compact, what is the meaning of TA?
