If any of you seen the arrow keys you can get in the nav bar in place of the 2 menu buttons on aokp when typing, you might think they are really useful.
Could someone add this to paranoid android 3.69 for the Sprint version? I would do it, but I'm very inexperienced with building Roms.

I can't build roms but maybe I have an alternative. You can try PAC ROM, domination, rootbox or jellybam. These roms have features of Paranoid Android, AOKP and cyanogenmod.

I just flashed TeamBAMF and coming from AOKP I am missing a couple features and was curious if there is a way to mod these things myself or if youre only able to change what features the ROM has been developed to allow. The thinkgs I want to do aree:
change the soft key layoutshrink
the size of the softkey icons
move the clock to the center
replace battery icon with just a number
Just realized i posted this in wrong place, can a mod please move to Q&A?
The first 2 are extremely easy to do, the second 2 not so much. I can't really help you with the latter but I can help you with the first 2. I'm on BAMF now and have already made a couple navmods for it.
so for the first 2 how did you do it?

Can you hide navigation bar in this rom? I have battery issues in AOKP but my problem is with customization in AOKP. I can't find them in other roms. Codename is best rom for battery and performance. I just want navbar hide option and I will move back to Codename rom.

I'm happy using the jelly bean Rom, but really miss one functionality from AOKP. Changing the function and icon of the navigation bar legacy buttons. I've looked around for a mod, but can't find any as versatile, and I'm not a with developer to do it on my own. Any chance such a mod exists, or someone is building one? Thanks in advance!

I wouldn't expect (nor use) any real mods for Jelly Bean until the source is released when Jelly Bean is actually officially released.

Oh ...
For display brightness and status bar toggles, I could find alternative on the Google play app store, but nothing for modding navigation bar buttons. Tried to find a ICS mod, but they seemed limited in scope compared to AOKP.

Can someone point me in the direction of the current tools/mods to do this? I just got my GN and I've been trying to figure this out. I found an old mod, but that was set options and didn't allow for any customization.
Hi just got text navigation bar icons from another users recommendation. How would I go about installing them?

In rom TwistedAOSP-v2.5.2-GSM you can change nav bar icons to other and if I not wrong with the text.

Hey can you share them? I have been looking for some for ages.
As implied it's rom dependant: it was in my AOKP based 4.1.2 rom Blackbean (I think it pretty much all AOKP 4.1.2 roms), is not present in my current AOSP based 4.2.1 rom (rasbeanjelly).
Dunno which 4.2.1 roms it's in atm but if present it'll be under rom control (whatever your rom calls it), navigation bar options.
Ok, I decided to start this thread in order for these roms to get better. It's not just a question of who's the best but this thread aims to provide both groups with users expreriences in order for their roms to get better. In order for us to do that we need to state our:
** likes for each rom
** dislikes
** battery life
** other bugs
** suggestions
If you ask why I choose those to roms, it's just because they're my two favorites. Respect to all devs here us their work is simly amazing. Thread starts while AOKP is on build 3 and CNA on 3.6 release.
The only thing that I hate about aokp is their notification toggles. It doesnt fit at all!! (In the JB statusbar) while the power widget from cm10 fits like google put it in. So if aokp redisigns their toggles it would be nice.

CNA has an unroot option in the menu. Personally I prefer to have an unrooted device, but I like the customization of the ROM. It can be the best of both worlds.

See the toggles are what I love about aokp. I know I'm in the minority. Those toggles are stock jelly bean toggles just FYI.

same here, those toggles are my favorite, that power widget is the first thing i get rid of - i think it's an eyesore.
I was on CNA and its good but missing some features that I like in AOKP & CM10. Like the cm10 percentage battery and Led options like in aokp Also the navbar soft key customization. The main thing I noticed about CNA that I didn't like was, receiving text messages is slow, it takes a long time to get a text from the person. The only other ROM to be slow with receiving SMS was MIUI jellybean.

I'm running Task650 and ktoonsez's AOKP (the 04/23 build) and I'm a bit stumped, if not just missing something.
I'd like to customize the capabilities of my hardware keys, namely the longpress actions. I've been using the Navigation Bar and been loving it for the most part, however I am still curious about the aforementioned.
Anybody aware of a way to customize the hardware key longpress actions on AOKP?

I don't know on AOKP but I do know that Deviant Rom is based on AOKP (Along with many others) and it gives me the option to. Personally I love hardware over the navigation bar, I hate the navigation bar
So in other words you should have the option

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.eikatou0.appspot.home2shortcut
update:
tricky to setup (not very clear instructions at least for me) but it works, now i have everything setup as i want.
aokp should REALLY allow you to customize actions on hardware keys, its supposed to be THE most customizable rom flavor
