Check again your contact details. May be contact name swapped while saving.
If not, it's a unique problem.

Any help would be aapreciated on this:
Anytime I rejected a call with text message, it is always sent as a MMS as against been sent as a text message (SMS) and since my plan does not include MMS usuage, I always get charged for the service.
I uses this functionality a lot as I normally reject calls with text messages anytime I am in a meeting.
I remember correctly that messages used to be sent as an SMS in 6.1 roms and few of 6.5 roms I have used sometimes ago.
Can anyone help on this?
Cheers
on my phone it doesn't even work. i configured it so when i reject a call my phone should send a sms, it never does. instead of that i receive a sms: you have 1 missed call.
no, i did not miss that call, i rejected it!
big difference.....

Mine does work but I will get charged as it would have been sent as a MMS message, it is annoying because I know it can be sent as a SMS message and for free.

Hope this help
same thing as in the other thread, no need to bump this and advertise an app, that is not even for this OS. post deleted.
Over the New Years weekend I got a text from a friend saying something like "Hope everyone has a safe New Years!". From the message it was obvious that it was sent to more than one person. I just happened to be with another friend who also received the same text. He has a Droid 3 and in his Messaging app the Send button changes to Send to All or something of that nature. Is there a way to easily tell if a message has been sent to multiple recipients without looking at the message info? I feel like this would be a huge help considering that replying to those sends a text to everyone who got the initial message. Hope that was clear.

Right I get that. But sometimes a message can seem like it only was sent to you, but then after you reply you find out that it indeed was not. I was hoping for an obvious way to tell, like on the Droid 3 messaging app changing the send button to say send to all.

Unless I'm mistaken, that Send to All is a Motoblur specific feature. I don't think by default that SMS messages sent to multiple recipients automatically reply to all recipients. MMS messages might, but not SMS.
I may have to test it later. I'm fairly certain the replies go only to the sender, though.

I figured that was specific to Motoblur. I like that feature though. Makes it really simple knowing if you received a mass text. I was hoping to find an app or ROM that has this feature as well.
So I have a little trouble with text messaging I cannot seem to resolve. When i send out a text message to a group of people, each the recipients cannot see the others on the list that i sent it to. The only see it as me sending it only to them, therefore there is no reply all.
This is getting on my nerves....anyone have a fix for this?
TIA!

Use GoSMS or Handcent, the stock app doesn't group messaging with MMS. Alternatively, flash AOSP based ROM and the stock app has it built in.

Its a mix....but its doesnt seem to matter. All of them tell me that it all of my texts come to them with their name as the only recipient.
Moreover, I've tried GoSMS....same deal with that.
That's how SMS works. It's not like messenger or group chat. When you send it to multiple people, what your phone does is sends that same message to each of the recipients individually, as if you were just sending it to one person. In short, you're out of luck.
If you're open to spend a little time to fix this annoying problem (I had it, too, trying to group-text between iPhones, Androids, and Windows phones), use GroupMe.
https://groupme.com/
Creates a new number which you all text to and it relays messages: works with anyone phone with SMS. If you want to send pictures, you'll need to use the app.

After I installed CM10.1, it works. The native text app in that does exactly what it should!

First, make sure you're not sending it to a land line.
2nd, did you try removing the + sign? I'm not so sure how the codes work in your country/area but in here (Canada), it will add a +1[areacode]-[number] when the contact is saved from a received sms.
3rd, can you receive sms from those contacts?
P.S.: Don't double post.

This was an issue with some verizon ports with the SecPhone and SecContacts apps adding a + in front of the numbers and at&t not being able to call back or text back directly to that number. The contacts app might not be setup to work with the + extension added. You could try pushing a different carriers SecContacts/SecPhone apk to system or using a 3rd party app
FYI: I have sent 2 messages now, that have been group txt messages from an iphone (don't know if that matters) but when I uncheck "group message" and type my message and press send, it sends to the group.
anyone else noticing this?
it does matter that it was sent from an iPhone. think of it like a bulk email sent to you, if you click reply it replies to all that iPhone originally sent to. the easiest way is to just start a new thread, so go to your Messaging app, click new, and write that person.

so, are you saying that the "group message" check box in my txt msg application will only work for txt messages sent from an android phone (and maybe windows phone?)
or perhaps that checkbox is just not working as intended?

group message and multimedia messages are two different things. group message sends multiple sms to multiple people, and when you respond checking the box it will reply to that same group of people in the sms. when you send an mms (iphones way of handling group texts) its all contacts included in one mms (email). mms are emails, thats why you have things like attachments. it's also why if you email [email protected] youll be able to email your phone directly as an mms text.
so you replied all to all: 1 of your contacts, that 1 contact being a group mms sent from that iphone.
yes it will be different getting a message from a blackberry or windows or android phone. you can actually turn a group sms into an mms group by attaching a pic to it or anything else to it.
dont forget if they dont have data they cant see the mms tho.
