I would like to have the same bookmark folder structure on my phone as on the computer. Chrome and stock will do this, but both insist on refreshing old tabs every time they are opened, which makes everything slow. Opera was great at this, but I can't install it at work. Dolphin proudly says it syncs with Chrome, but does nothing. All others just take all bookmarks out of the folders and throw them in a pile. Any ideas?

The Rogers version of the Galaxy Note II , SGH-I317M , comes preloaded with a number of bookmarks in the Internet browser.
Those bookmarks are locked, they can not be deleted , put in a folder or even moved in the bookmark list.
Anyhow, found a tip that deleted them...
(It also deletes your bookmarks, and resets all browser settings at a minimum)
Settings / Storage / Applications / All
Find Internet then Force Stop , Clear Cache, Clear data
Not sure of everything it does, but it reset all the browser's settings back to default and wiped all bookmarks, mine and Rogers.
They were replaced with a few standard ones like Google, Facebook, etc, but those can be deleted or moved.
Note the original data file was 27MB , after the process and restarting the browser the data file was only 1.1MB,
so not sure what was in it originally but the browser seems back to normal once I reset my options.
Worked on att note

Thanks, this works on T Mobile GN2
Does anyone know how to remove the "other bookmarks" envelope under your email?
I was playing around with Kies Air the other day and was able to delete the "permanent bookmarks" one-by-one by browsing the phone from my laptop, without needing to erase settings, cache, etc.
Thanks worked with a verizon note 2

Im in the same boat as well. In for answers.
Do you mean Chrome bookmarks? You have to sign-in with your Google account and make sure Auto Sync and Sync Internet/Bookmarks is on under Accounts.

There isn't an option for syncing bookmarks, that's where I remember it being on the S3 but it's not on my s4. Stock browser not chrome

I have the same issue! I rather like the stock browser, so I'd love to have all my bookmarks sync with my gmail account.
In my s3 stock browser automatically login to my google account and sync all my bookmarks and everything else, now samsung wants us to use this useless scloud and now we haven't sync with syock browser in s4... is there any way to have this working out? The stock browser is far the best to me.

I aslso love the stock browser best, never found a way to sync google bookmarks. So i saved my bookmarks to my Samsung account and started syncing from there. Problem is that when i flash a new rom and sync my bookmarks, some if not most are missing. I don't even have that many, just like 6 or 7

Well that's another way, but we should be able to sync it also with Google like before. I had a look into many xml and features and compared it to s3 files, but nothing...

This sucks... I hate Chrome. Is it the fact that Google is trying hard to push Chome on us?

Well, looks like Samsung is trying to push the Samsung cloud service, Samsung backup, Samsung... I don't even see why we have Samsung apps if we have play store, and books, music...

I'm working on this. Had same problem with old phone. Got a half ass solution then. Maybe better luck with this one.
All my bookmarks sync just fine in Chrome, still it's not my browser of choice.

I'm having a really annoying problem in google chrome and hoping there is a solution other than the obvious in not using chrome. So...
In my favorites folder there is a Verizon folder that when ever I open chrome it opens into that folder rather than my favorites and its absolutely annoying 1. Because it has useless links and 2. I cannot delete the folder. Is this the norm now in verizon phones when using chrome? Anyway I'm hoping that maybe there is a way to disable that folder?

I had a look around and found that bookmarks are stored in this text file
data/data/com.android.chrome/app_chrome/default/bookmarks
You're gonna need root though

Using the Android stock browser is an exercise in self-hate. Install Google Chrome, and enjoy synchronizing with your desktop. The same history, the same bookmarks, the same ultra-fast response to which we've all grown accustomed.
Just ordered one of these for the eldest son. Hope he enjoys it!

Sorry let me clarify.
When I hold down a link in other browsers an option pops up in the to open in new window, open in new tab, etc..
I do not get that option in Chrome, or figured it out yet.
Thats strange for me it works fine. Holding a link brings me a pop-up menue

The stock Samsung browser moved off WebKit to Chromium starting with the N3. I'm fine with the stock browser and like how it syncs open pages between my two Notes.
You guys took it wrong as I used word paste in my querry....actually what want to say is that copying text in stock browser is very slow...the cursor moves very slowly when we are trying to copy one line to other...
