[Q] Regarding Android 4.2.2 version SER region. - Galaxy Grand Duos i9082 Q&A, Help & Troubleshootin

I have heard about Android 4.2.2 update for Galaxy Grand few days ago. And I have downloaded the firmware from SamMobile. Before i am going to flash this on my device, I would like to ask a few questions regarding the firmware.
1. Is there is any bugs on the official stock ROM ? ( Such as contacts, sensor or else, which i have readed somewhere around this forum )
2. Is it true that battery life drains almost double rate than normal ? ( This is a very serious issue for me )
Well, currently there is only two questions. I hope users here that upgraded to Android 4.2.2 official stock ROM can give me a feedback regarding the ROM. Sorry for my bad english, if there is no problem. I will direct flashing this ROM right away !

<Need Help>

Hello developers.
I have 3 questions to ask.
1. The CyanogenMod 9 ALPHA (Build 5) rom was out for SGW in april. And it had Camera, FM radio issues. I want to know if they have released any latest version which doesnt have any issue?? I tried searching it online but couldnt get any. Please give me the link of the updated version.
2. Samsung Galaxy S I9000 just got CyanogenMod 10 (jelly bean). Is there any chance that it wil be available even for SGW?? Or is it already out? (Again i couldnt find any info regarding that as well). Please send the link so that i can flash the rom.
3. Can i flash CyanogenMod 10, which is released for Galaxy S, to Galaxy W? Will it work? Or will it cause any problems??
It will be really helpful (for rookie like me) to get the solutions from experts of xda. Thank you.
Cheers.
1. Build 5 is the latest
2. It is possible that someone will port it, but there is no JB ROM for the GW at the moment.
3. No you can't, the phone won't boot.
Q1. Build 5 is latest indeed, but there is a camera fix now, it still has some bugs, but it does focus now with stock camera app

Hello
Just want to correct Cm9 build 6 is now available..
(And here is the link for the thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1576874)
If you want my opinion I say u better backup your files and try this rom, another thing don't worry about bugs the rom will NOT crash and stuff .....as long you flash it correctly. Except the known issues (FM and camera)
And for the camera I tested it and it can auto focus but not touch to focus..!
And for question two ......be patient you don't know how long we waited until Cm9 is here and camera is half working.
And foe question three OF COURSE you can't ....( like the man before me said)
Thanks for reading.

OK , what do YouThink about android 4.3 , is it stable and no issues Till Now
i Think it'S reported That it's more slower Than 4.1.2

no its not slower at all its smoother ( specially when scrolling on Facebook and on Google plus ) , it has some nice features : like transparent statues bar , look screen widgets , Gs4 music player , updated gallery , newer GPU driver ( smoother gaming ) .....etc
If you go to 4.1.1 then there is huge risk u brick ur device with sds(sudden death syndrome) so dont downgrade to 4.1.1...
Thanks all
If you really want to go back 4.1.1, before choosing any 4.1.1 rom do check if your device is affected with sds brick bug by installing an app from play store. And after that use some custom kernel like persuis.
Ps me too on 4.1.1 miui rom, why? I'm a miui addict!

[Q] Any other solution other than reverting back to 4.1.2 for lag issue ?

I am fed up with the lag issue in this GRAND duos. tried all these methods
(1) reverting back to amf7
(2) flashing bna4
(3) flashing ubmk3
(4) disbaled stock gallery app
(5) disabled as many as possible official apps....
All the solutions proved to be just temporary. After 24 hours to 4 days it starts lagging again. Now I am sick of flashing firmwares.
My phone is under warranty up to 19 April. If I go to service center and ask for replacement of motherboard/phone, will they replace just on the complain "my this phone hangs a lot. I have googled and found that many users have flashed other firmwares yet phones lag. These users say that this problem has no solution but replacement of motherboard?" (I cannot tell them that I have flashed other firmwares myself).
If any user with same problem has flashed custom ROM, please share your experience.
Bro, though I've never flashed a custom rom on my grand , but my Grand is rooted and I've flashed a lot of mods on it , but my Grand never lags . It is very fast and buttery smooth . I want to ask you that wether you directly started flashing custom roms on your galaxy grand or in the beginning you just rooted and flashed some mods like me ?
@MohdGhufran
From what date is your last stock ROM?
I'm having the same problem. But I've used the CM11 on another occasion and did not face any problem. Then I went back to Stock and updated the same last week.
The phone was very bad (lag). So I returned to the CM11, but the lag continues.
I'll try an earlier stock and after the CM11.
I'll post the result here.
(Sorry for my English by Google)
@Mohdgufran - I agree... I m running umbmk1 ... after 3 to 4 days with out restart the phone starts to lag...
The only solution temporarily is to clear the ram in task manager...
Stay wid 4.2.2 and use a ram cleaner (it sucks a bit battery but its the only possible non technical solution)

Have you tried a factory reset, followed by clean flashing a smooth ROM?? In my experience, THAT always solves any problem...

Try greenify and the cleaner both are small apps (around 1 mb) and it will speed up your phone .....
Hit thanks if you find this usefull

I have not flashed any custom ROM on this phone. Neither have I rooted it. This lag issue started since my bro got an OTA update. So, as per solutions/guidance available on xda, I just flashed official firmwares (which proved to be just temporary solutions)

it is not like that stock ROMs are not good. It is just a problem with Galaxy Grand Duos. I had rooted my Galaxy R and Galaxy S Advance and had flashed Custom ROMs. All the custom ROMs had some limitations / missing features (like USB PC connection, wifi tethering, USB tethering, etc). This is why I do not want to flash any custom ROM on Galaxy Grand.

Yes I had tried this. Went back to 4.1 and the upgraded to 4.2. This too proved to be a temporary solution.
I don't want to flash custom ROM but now it seems like I will have to flash the same.
I solved my problem by not installing facebook and twitter as well as also installed battery saver pro which kills apps running in background for every five minutes..

this ROM is awesome.;liked it like honey.but problem is previous cool and calm mobile now becoming very heat and hot, while using for few minutes in 3G,its become very heat.Charging also makes it too heat.
i searched in this forum and many threads.they answered as its default problem.so i didnt mind this problem.Got used to routine.
Heating problem still there.Battery also draining like Jet..
i heard that Samsung has released 4.4.2 update to Note II.Few of my friends who updated their default JB 4.3 to KK 4.4.2 ,told that its stable and battery and heating problem less.
MY QUERY is

Has the A1 MM Battery Drain been resolved ?

Hi Guys,
My phone is running in perfect condition *touchwood* on stock 5.1.1 and stock recovery. Been updated with all the OTA's till 5.1.1. I had seen numerous complaints on the forum for Marshmallow regarding the battery drain and because of which i haven't updated my device till date. The OTA notification has been there since long and i just keep tapping later.
So if the members could give a go ahead to Marshmallow with the build number which is perfectly fine, i would like my A1 to jump onto the Marshmallow bandwagon. Also, please add the direct download link in reply from where i can download that particular build.
Thanks in anticipation
44 Views .. 0 Replies !! C'mon guys, it would just take a few seconds to respond. Should i update the handset or stick to lollipop only ? Or would you recommend any specific stock rom + kernel combo ?

no you should stick to Lollipop because battery backup is terrible in 6.0.1 both in pure marshmallow and CM13 marshmallow
@bunny374 .. Thanks for your response. I'll stick to 5.1 only then. Can the other members suggest the best 5.1.1 based rom for our device. I'll need a stable rom.
Update if battery life issue solved
