Too often I will be on youtube or on the browser when my phone rings. I wanted to know if theres any possible way to leave the incoming call screen without rejecting the call. I want to go back to what I was doing without sending the call straight to voice mail. Its so frustrating to have to wait for it to finish ringing. Thanks.

I've wondered this myself

Yea it seems like there should be a way to make calls ring in the background. I wonder if anyone has ever tried making a mod for it.

does anyone experience similar problems? when im in a call, any phone calls that i get automatically become missed calls for me.. sometimes if they call a second time, it'll go through and i'll get it, but i seem to always miss the first call...
im also wondering if this is an att issue or my phoneissue. also, im flashed to energy rom..
anybody? im missing a lot of my calls this way! nobody else using att or energy rom has this problem? ALL call waiting calls come through? :"(
i got the same prob. no audible call waiting notification, the phone shows incoming call, but no audible.
I have to set mine to notify me of second call. Go to phone then to services I think then to call waiting and have it turned on by provider.
i am running xdandroid froyo 2.2 frx07 in my tp2.
just wondering did anyone experience the condition as what i meet.
i use the phone of my friend right beside me to make call to myself. i can listen from his phone the tone of calling... however my own phone did not ring and nothing was happened for about 20 seconds; after that then only my phone start ringing (some time a missed call alert came out).....
the same thing happen when i make call, my phone doesn't have tone of calling; but my friend's phone already ringing....
did anyone have the same problem? how to solve it?
appreciate for the sharing.....
thanks
garf
I observed the same issue with incoming calls, but never noticed it for outgoing calls. I know when a call is about to come in, because my phone will just go black first, then I hear the ringtone about 3 seconds after, then the screen appears after 3-5 seconds so I get to pick up the call.

Ditto. Incoming calls are difficult at best to answer, but outgoing is no problem whatsoever.
I am experiencing the same behavior, i gussed it is performance issue with the phone app, but this is exeteremly annoying, however, wont stop me from using this rom as my main phone. Wish there was a fix though

I had incoming call lag in winmo, wouldn't ring until the other person had heard like 3 rings. To be honest, I haven't really checked the delay since switching to xdandroid.
FWIW, I reduced the delay back in winmo days by lowering the slot cycle index. No idea if that change would carry over into android or not. Or even if the change is still intact for me since I've installed a vzw update since I did that. Don't care much lately either, some calls I prefer to miss
Anybody have issues where some phone calls don't ring? For example, I had a missed call today that didn't ring and barely displayed on the screen long enough to notice and answer the call, and not even a minute after, somebody else called and the phone wrong with no problem. I've noticed this since I got the phone last week and wonder if I should exchange it if it's a faulty unit.
welcome to sprint.. i've had issues where the phone never rings and call goes directly to voicemail despite the phone showing full bars.. usually if someone calls a second time right after the phone rings

I don't mean that. I'm use to not getting calls....I've been with Sprint since 2001. My issue is that my phone is actually getting the call, but there's no ring sound. I will have the phone right in front of me and somebody will call without any noice, and then somebody else will call shortly after and the ringtone sounds loudly.

This has always been a problem I am just now getting around to posting it. I must be doing something wrong. If I am on the phone with someone and someone else calls. I tell them I will call them back and take the latest incoming call but it never hangs up. I sit there and talk to the other person and it will continue to say they are there. Then once I am done talking to that person what will happen is I will hang up and the first caller will make a dial tone like beep beep beep then hang up it's weird.
Have you tried hanging up on the existing call, then accepting the incoming? When that happens [rarely ever for me], that generally works, and no issues.

I never have. I always just accepted the call. Also, I noticed lately that whenever I get a call a voice comes on and asks do I want to accept the call. Must be a setting I changed but I thought that I changed it back. Doesn't matter if it is a contact or unknown number or landline or cell.

Hmm, maybe a bug? Oh, well to fix the voice issue:
> log into voice on the chrome browser
> go into call settings
> UNCHECK call screening
Someone told me it could be Google Voice which I recently installed. But I uninstalled that and Skype and I still get a message once I accept a call. It says press one to accept or two for voicemail. Never used to do this. I am on FreeGS3. Not the latest update.

What you've found is the call waiting feature. When you accept the incoming call, it places you current conversation on hold while you answer the new call. If you would complete the second call and end it, it would reconnect you to the first call. Since you told the first caller that you would call back, he hung up but you placed that call on hold, hence the dial tone. If you would actually "end" the first call before taking the second on you wouldn't have the issue.
I love my S3 but there is one thing I found very strange. If I'm on a call and someone calls me the only option I have is to accept or deny the incoming call. If I decide to accept the incoming call the other call would be on hold no matter if they hung up or not. If I swap to the first call to hang up it disconnects both calls. Just something I found very strange. Anyone else have this issue? Anyone else have any suggestions?
This happens on verizon s3 to I don't know if it's a 4.1 thing or not

If you figure out how to stop this please pm me cause I hate that I can't end one call without ending both calls
