Im rooted on stock, I bought ROM Toolbox Pro but cant use any of the features because im on kernel 3.0.8-925100. The main features I'm trying to use are change wifi logo, battery icon and a few other tweaks ROM Toolbox offers. I want to stay stock as possible because I really like the stock rom so I guess my real question is can I flash a new kernel and stay stock and if so whats a good one that will let me use all ROM Toolbox features?

I believe you can. Flash morfics trinity ics kernel 43b

Awesome, can anyone else confirm this? By flashing this will I still be pretty much stock and then be able to use all features in ROM Toolbox like changing my wifi icon my battery logo and someone?

And now I swear this is my last question about flashing anything. Regardless if I done this flash correctly or wrong if I decide to go back to stock how would I do it. I did a google search and found something called fix boot, but that flashed me to something completely different and broke my wifi. I ended up flashing back to what you see in the picture to get my wifi back and now I just don't know how to go back to stock if I decide to.

Im assuming you made a backup before flashing the kernal if so just flash that and you will be back to square one. If not the head over to http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1746682 and you shoulx find everything you neex to get you back to stock.

I searched around for the differences between the I747 and I747M, and apparently it is the location... That brings up my question.
I got an I747M, but live in the US and am with AT&T. Should I be worried about anything?
Thanks!
EDIT: I have found that it is because I flashed KyanROM, which changed it from I747 to I747M. Is there any way to revert this change? I did try to change it in the build.prop, like a bunch of places said, but when I did, the phone would get to the Samsung screen the crash. I did a nandroid restore and everything was fine, except it is still showing I747M.

Flash only modems that are for your carrier.
The reason I asked that is because Kyan ROM is based on the 747m firmware. It still works with the 747, but the build.prop shows it as a 747m.

Exactly. Look at the title in the Kyan forum... notice the M after the 747?.. so.. youve entered the world of ROMs?.. time to study!! Read read and read again my friend or youll get flamed like crazy around these parts. The answer to this question and probably all your questions are available in Kyans forum.. theres a thing called the OP that has all the info you need about the ROM you flash.. make sure you read it in its entirety atleast twice before flashing , sop. The OP is the very first post.. also, how to get around your issue and get the AT&T bloat back is also found in that forum.. theres a search function that will reveal all your questions and dreams.. its like magic except its just the search function.

Thanks guys, I feel a little bit better about it now.
I am only worried about the model number, because I can't download any of the AT&T stuff from the market because it is restricted from I747M's (as they are Canadian, and AT&T has no use on those devices). Is there any way to change it back to I747 and get rid of the M? @daddymatt, I have spent a good 30 minutes searching, and can't find any way to revert it.
I did try to change it in the build.prop, like a bunch of places said, but when I did, the phone would get to the Samsung screen the crash. I did a nandroid restore and everything was fine, except it is still showing I747M.

Try changing device id to I9300 instead of I747. It's the international version and will serve the same purpose. Don't know for sure if this'll work, but i think I've seen it somewhere else.

How many lines in the build.prop did you change? I had to change 4 in order to get Bell mobile tv working while running an AT&T rom. Try this, change
- ro.product.name=d2att
- ro.product.device=d2att
- ro.product.model=SGH-I747
- ro.build.product=d2att
This should make your phone think it's an AT&T phone again, remember keep a nandroid handy just in case...
I've only tried a few roms and read a lot of reviews on others and decided not to flash any for a while. So right now I'm wondering if I can still flash different kernals without a specific rom? Ktoonz kernel is my favorite, there is no best though... things didn't match what was shown because you have to use the ktweaker app and change your governor and io scheduler to the ones who's tweaks you're looking at...

Trial and error, Google and the kernelizers thread will be your best friend throughout your journey of ktoonz kernel tweaking... you can find that thread in general section... in the op you will see links to the team's box account that has pudding setups for you to use... gman and mw86 have the top battery saving setups with great performance also... read through the op and ask any questions about tweaking you may have in there... if anybody gives you a hard time on any questions you may have tell them I sent you! I do not, try it out again, wipe cache and dalvik cache after flashing, don't mess with the kernel, just run it as is for a day and see how it performs, if all goes well then start your kernel tweaking journey :thumbup::thumbup:

Just make sure you read, read, read. And your prl, being on Boost, will not change. And as long as you have a jb modem(gb27, gb28, or gc01), you'll have data. But if you flash a Sprint rom you'll have to research how to change mmsc in order to send mms. To avoid that, if your wife wants stock, flash a GC01(Boost) rom after you root. By the way, if you flashed the phone to Boost you're better off just keeping a stock Boost ROM handy.
That way you're not having to mod the MMS settings to get it to work right.
From there you can pick up a custom kernel/recovery and flash away.
(I personally recommend mine but there are others to choose from...)
Welcome and enjoy!
