Hey y'all. I have a Nexus 4 on T-Mobile and consistently get over 20mbs dl speeds and 1 or 2 mbs up and that's on 3g.. on LTE its even faster..
Here's my question. A good friend of mine recently got the Optimus G with sprint and has yet to see more than 1mbs down or up. He briefly had a 4g connection and still couldn't break a meg. Is this normal for Sprint? Is there anything he could do to increase his speed or better his connection?
And its not like we're in a low service area.. here in central FL outside of Orlando pretty much all the big carriers are here in full strength.

3G is pretty much garbage everywhere but in Florida 4g should be at least 5 MBps Down or higher

You are in kb's not mb's. I consistently get 30mbps in SF.
That works out to about 56-57Mbps down

software problem? can't believe it test speed is under 4G as not 4G LTE.
I'm on a rom that changes the letters and takes away LTE ultimatum rom.
The area that I'm at literally JUST got LTE...so there's like nobody on it..rofl. that's why the speeds are so high

This is in New Orleans yesterday which supposedly got LTE not too long ago
and here are my speeds 10 minutes away from the airport in Houston today.
Dunno if it matters, but my hotel room in New Orleans was on the 4th floor, and the Houston speeds are from just now on the 1st floor.

Anyone else have the sprint version of this phone and have problems with 3g data at times. For example it sometimes says I have full bars but Facebook will say that I don't have a connection at all. I'm wondering if its the phone or does sprint just have crappy 3g in LA? What do you guys think?

yeah.. it is pretty annoying... sprint's 3g network is like a ****... it is dang slow.... makes me feel like i'm using EVDO only with my 4G SMARTPHONE with stupid $10 PREMIUM DATA CHARGE!!! wtf...

That upload speeds are faster because they're not as heavily impacted by users as download speeds are. In other words, your local site is over capacity and its resulting in slower speeds for everyone. Once sprint upgrades your site, it'll be epic.

You can grab Phone Info and set your radio to LTE Only. If you still have data, then you are not 'trippin' and have an LTE connection.
What is your speed though? I'm getting pretty good speeds here in the D.C area.
It was only on for a bit, my speeds were no where near what you got.

Smyrna, GA checking in. Spring Road area, getting 28 ms Pings, 15 - 32 Mbps download speeds and 6 - 23 Mbps upload speeds. Seems to be quite sporadic, but still quite often close to my Charter internet speeds.
Not even close to mine. However that could be signal related. My charter speeds as tested by the blue ray on Netflix consistently shows 45mbps and as high as 150mbps even though we only pay for 30mbps. On my phone via WiFi its 30-40 Mbps to as high as 46 Mbps on the 5gig band. My best with the old 4g was 27 and late was 19.
