DPI change?

Hi, why cant we change the dpi on any rooted rom? Every time I change the phone freezes. I changed through root explorer and rom toolbox. Same thing.
Is there something Samsung or Google did in 4.1? Because I have been changing dpi on all the phones I had before with no problem.

I can change my dpi just fine on my rom. Dagr8's roms biggest selling point is dpi changing. So its gotta be something on your end.

What rom are you on? Whatre you changing your dpi to? On any rom except for hybrid dpi of 160 causes system ui fc

Im on t-mobile debloated stock, I change it to 240 and it boots and then it gets stock on lockscreen

Hmm i dunno what it could be. Im using my ported tmobile rom at 240 dpi with the samsung keyboard fix and multi dpi pack from dagr8s rom thread with amazing results. It could be something within that specific rom

Change your build.prop to match a supported device
Or download it on another device and move the apk and obb to your note (that's how I did it)
noted for future reference on my Note 2

Ok, but i tried to change the model in the build.prop and noting. You now a build.prop proper for this or i need to wipe chaches when i do the reboot after change the build.prop, or another build.prop code??

You have to reboot for any changes to take effect, might have to clear the Play store data as well
Change to ro.product.model=GT-N7100
That's the int Note 2 which is listed as supported

Touchwiz in tablet mode???

Does anyone know how to get touchwiz launcher in tablet mode?? Or at 220 or 210 DPI?? I've tried xposed framework, changing the DPI through ROM toolbox, the launcher from the note 8, and various other modded touch wiz launchers I've found through xda. The only one that work was a tablet ui made for 4.1.1 ROMs. I'm looking for one that works on 4.1.2. Any help is much appreciated, thank you.

I personally was able to get the tw into tablet mode at 153dpi in xsposed app settings I believe (dont quote me on that) I dl'd the stock rom of note 10.1 and pulled the touchwiz home apk. Put in system/app set correct permissions. Icons will be tiny. To fix that I edited this line in build prop"ro.build.characteristics=chameleon" to "ro.build.characteristics=tablet" please make a backup before trying this. I can confirm this worked on deodexed 4.1.1 ljc but havent fooled with 4.1.2 yet. On 4.1.1 I took the modded system.ui apk & android.policy.jar floating around the vzw note 2 forum for tablet mode and fully working tablet ui became a reality for us. I know nothing of developing but have been tinkering with decompiling apks and jars to bring this to 4.1.2. as it seems no one really wants this but a select few. If I have a break though I will most definitely post it.

I know. Been waiting on that. The forced tab mode just aint getting it. If you need another person to test lte and bugs I will help.

Its not the DPI unfortunately. Could be something in the build prop or the actual apk. I'm seeing if maybe he will post the room soon and then get some help from the community

Anyone find a way to get the Sammy stock keyboard working on any AOSP Roms?

I found one file but it didn't work. Does anyone know if this is even possible?

No. Sorry... stock Sammy keyboards won't work on aosp.. I believe its a framework thing.

[Q] Where can I get the stock keypad?

I'm running Jedi Master 17 with the Alexander theme. The only thing that I want to change is the keypad...I'm looking for the stock keypad that came with the Note 2. Thanks in advance
