[Q] Crappy antenna?

So I'm on my 4th Epic
My wife still has her original
My first phone i switched in for crappy reception
Second phone for the physical letter "i" on the keyboard not working
3rd phone for the speakerphone microphone not working
and now on this 4th phone i have crappy reception again
my past phones haven't been super, but now cant send texts anymore, my phone is always going in and out of roaming... and the battery drains rather quickly
i attached a pic... showing my phone with a -96 dBm next to a -76 dBm identical epic
I switched locations, waited, tried different PRL's, everything... just this particular phone gets worse reception than 2 other Epic that were "bran new"
I keep getting refurb replacement, and there's been something minor wrong with each phone... do you think its because these errors are getting missed at QC? my wife's phone is perfect (thank god)... but i cant seem to get a good one... the rep said they'd give me a different phone maybe since i keep replacing this one... but i like the Epic.
Question for the group... especially anyone that can side by side compare 2 epics, or an epic and an evo... have you noticed big reception differences between Epics, or the Epic and another phone?

Any ETA for new radios?

Hey there guys about a week ago I visited the Verizon store in BJ's near me and while being there (had a problem when VZW disconected my lines for 4 days) anyways on the display I saw
iPhone 4S
Droid Razrr
Galaxy Nexus
I own also the gnex so here is what I saw on the reception side
Razrr Had full bars of 3G in that place there was no 4G i guess we dont really need internet at such a huge store
iPhone 4S had 2 bars of 3G
Display Nexus had NONE
my nexus had also none and I have the leak 4.0.4 radios...
I really hope the 4.0.5 will bring new radios for US because I love the device but sometimes not having service even on Verizon [previous AT&T user] just sucks
I'd return your phone, personally...
There is only so much that a software radio can do!
And I have no problem with 3G in my area (no 4G here yet) and the two hour drive to a 4G town that I had to make once...I got 4G the entire time.
Many bash the GN's radios, but I'm personally impressed. I get completely comparable service to my Droid X. And many also bashed them...and returned their phones to find improvements.
As far as an ETA goes:
Don't bother. Every place will say different. You could call Verizon three times in a row and they'd all say something different (if they'd say at all). Same goes for calling Samsung directly.
I wont return the phone as this is the replacement phone and its working perfectly
I dont know if you read but i compared it to a display GNEX and mine with 4.0.4 radios both had no service , anyway I hope samsung/verizon give us update soon usually service is good but sometimes it could be little better

Weak reception with one carrier

Hey! Sorry for the title, I don't know if it's clear. But anyway, I already know that Nexus's signal is a known hardware problem, but I don't know if mine qualifies as one of the them.
I'm from Venezuela and my Nexus was bought directly from the Play Store, so it's OEM and it's the GSM vesion. Since I got it I have noticed bad reception mostly in my house. I usually get about 1 bar and sometimes it even drops the connection (with 17h on battery, it showed "Time without a signal: 58%" in Cell Standby). In other parts of the City, I get very good reception, just not in my house. But yesterday I tried with another Sim Card, from another carrier, and the signal was strong (HSDPA:8, by the way, not EDGE)!
Considering what I wrote, what do you think that means? Is my Nexus just bad? Is it my carrier? Although I don't think it is as there are 3 different phones (one BlackBerry, one Nokia and one Sony) with the same carrier and none of them has this problem.
I'm running stock Jelly Bean, by the way.
It means that one carrier has better coverage at your house... and the problem is exaggerated by the GNex not having the best radios in the world.
I guess that's it! I might change of carrier, since this is somewhat anoying, and I even thought of buying another Nexus and see if it was a hardware problem, but I think it is what you say.
Thanks!

[Q] Swapping motherboard on s3

Okay so im gonna be getting a At&t Galaxy s3 and i wanna swap my tmobile motherboard with it because my tmobile s3 has a crack screen and will i be able to swap them with no problems and will i be able to get the same signal and data ? or are the antennas different ?
please reply
Can you please update what happened with your attempt
I somehow don't think you can. The T-Mo Device is missing the LTE Antenna whereas the ATT model does have one.
More importantly, why do you wish to swap ? You didn't mention any issues with the ATT version. Are there any ?

Problem with IMEI and signal

Hello I bought an used ATT Note4 unlocked and I use it with TMobile. I have two problems maybe related. I have very low signal and the phone dont connect in my home and my previous phones didnt have that problem. In works in other places but you know it disconnects inside buildings and low signal areas. I was thinking in flash a TMobile modem and I think its not possible. The other problem is the IMEi that shows in settings is not the same as the sticker behind the battery so something has be done to the phone. Its possible to fix the IMEI to the real one?
Thanks a lot.
It might be a fake, install cpu z and compare the hardware results to a real one
