Speaker volume should be kernel related, so i doubt it will be louder then any other. Yes all ROMS other then stock will need unlocked bootloader.

You will have to flash a stock ftf they haven't properly formated the kernel and I get the impression your device thinks it is a xperia s and not an acro s.

Or you can just remove the line getprop from the updater script in the rom.

If you know what mekayzer just said that would work also, after that it will flash my kernel and it will fix your device thinking it isnt a Acro S. Otherwise it might be easier just flashing the stock FTF.
And check box 'Disable HW overlays' under Developer options or you will have scrolling artifacts.

Instructions for porting Beanstalk
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if youve ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b cm-10.1'. This will setup the folders to be synced.
5. type 'repo sync'. This will sync the folders to your beanstalk directory. Note - This will take some time depending on internet connection. Be patient!
6. After the repo sync finally finishes, all you need to do is add your device, kernel, vendor specific files for the device you are building for. (You must know what these are, dont bother asking me if your not sure.)
7. Make sure all your device specific files are setup as if you were going to build for CM.
8. Outside of terminal, navigate to beanstalk/vendor/cm. Double click on the get-prebuilts file and select run in terminal. This will fetch necessary files needed to build and place them where they need to be.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'

Thanks! I'll add screenshots to op. :good:
And you can decide that for yourself. There is a huge list of features in the op, you just have to flash and find out if this rom is for you.
Still my current rom on my Infuse 4g. Thanks
Nice rom but I have two problems. How activate side bar. I have enable it. Second ram bar is not working. Can't activated it and adjust it.

From my experience, the sidebar is hard to open. From the middle of the screen, you have to swipe in from the side of the screen, but the sensor is small. I will notify Scott about this, hopefully we can get a fix for that.
And as for the ram bar, I noticed it too. The Keyboards and input methods doesn't work either. Scott has been notified about these and that fix should be out soon. :good:
The download link seems to be down.

The link is having trouble with mobile phones I think. I didn't think Google drive would do this. Like I said though, if you use a computer to download it, it works fine.

If you want to delve into the framework-res.apk file (just ask for help if you need it!) I'm sure you could change the image. This is a port so I'm going to keep all of the official files and not make any changes.

Try installing the gtalk app and remove the hangouts app?

Hmm, I have not noticed this bug. If you could reproduce the issue and grab a logcat, that would help out a ton!

I am proud to present to you BeanStalk Builds put together by myself. This is a build composed off of the CM10.1 builds and i have added alot of features on top of it. So you get speed, stability, and ultra customization ability. Many of the additional code additions came from slim ROM and also Derteufels build and have been modified to work with my current setup. A huge thanks to Derteufel and the Slim ROM guys for their work and dedication. Also a big thanks to everyone involved with CM as that is the building stone in this project. Thanks to skyliner33v for the bootanimation and upcoming wallpapers!
I plan on updating this and adding features on a pretty regular basis, so if you happen to like this, keep checking back.

- Do NOT flash any of the previous MOD packages i released... I need to once again create a new one that includes all the kernel additions since last release. If you ignore this and flash one of the MOD packages before i update it, you will more then likely have broken WiFi and broken touchscreen support and some other problems. You have once again been warned. I will post the change log tomorrow... Need sleep right now.

When you go to flash it, it will give you a warning about being incompatible and it will erase your data... You will need to flash it again for it to start to flash. It will reboot and go back into flashing.... It will reboot again and come back to normal recovery screen. From this point, the build is finished installing and you can install GAPPs or any extras you may want to use.

Beanstalk is a Custom ROM derived from CyanogenMod starting during android 4.1(jellybean) or CM10. It has most if not all the features of CyanogenMod but also includes other customizable things such as status and Navy bar colors. If I'm not mistaken it also includes cherry picks from AOSPA, AOKP and Slimbean.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong tho

You haven't heard the tale of Jack and the Beanstalk? anyhow, if you are looking for a literal answer:
bean·stalk [been-stawk]
Noun. The stem of a bean plant.
Origin: 1790–1800; bean + stalk1

@powerpoint45's rom is completely different. It is a different experience. If you want to see screenshots, you can click on the link in Post 3. Otherwise, I am not sure how to answer your questions. It is a completely different rom.
MAKE SURE to do a NANDROID BACKUP in recovery of Alien Droid just incase you flash this and decide you like alien droid better and want to go back without having to start over.
Take care man.
over 50+ downloads in a couple days between goo.im and AFH, and the only 4 people that hit thanks are people I know on xda. Thats brutal.

So your interested in Building/Porting for another device?! Follow this guide! **Please make sure to give proper credits and Use the layout i have in the first post.** - If you need assistance, please send me a PM, do NOT post questions in this thread. I may open a general porting/building thread in another section depending on how this goes. You must have some general experience/knowledge in this area to complete this. Building from Linux platforms. In particular Ubuntu 10.04
If you have building/development concerns or issues, Please visit the BeanStalk Development Thread to avoid cluttering this thread.
Setup to build - This section can be skipped if youve ever built anything before. This is for first time build setup.
1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b kk44'.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

Did you wipe anything after flashing? Maybe try a dalvic & cache wipe before rebooting. Also are you installing the 4.4008? It was just updated and I haven't heard much from that version yet.

Yes it was. Just redownloaded 4.4008 and gapps and verified md5 so gonna try flashing again

Same issue with bootloops. Clean flash, tried downloading again and verified md5 but no luck. Still mega thanks to the op for all the hard work already put in. Based on the feature list, this will be one hell of ROM.
Maybe try the 4.4001 version that was first released. It's on my afh, sorry I haven't put it back up in the op. My kids are keeping me busy. Lol

Im going to say this once and only once... I am doing this for fun. It is my CHOICE to share my work with everyone. If you decide that you do not like my work, good for you.. Make sure you are rooted with a custom recovery. The Latest TWRP or CWM should work fine.
Download both the BeanStalk build and the latest GAPPs package.
Boot into recovery
Perform a FULL factory wipe and wipe /system and dalvik cache as a MUST!
Mounts & Storage - format system, data, & cache to ensure a clean install. Twice is not necessary but sometimes helps.
Flash BeanStalk build
Flash GAPPs package
Reboot===> Phone may Reboot once during initial boot, don't be alarmed just let it do its thing.
Camera is an issue as with most all of any 5.0 builds currently.

1. From your root terminal location, type the following: sudo apt-get install curl git-core gnupg flex bison gperf libsdl1.2-dev libesd0-dev libwxgtk2.6-dev squashfs-tools build-essential zip curl libncurses5-dev zlib1g-dev sun-java6-jdk pngcrush schedtool g++-multilib lib32z1-dev lib32ncurses5-dev lib32readline5-dev gcc-4.3-multilib g++-4.3-multilib
2. Type: mkdir ~/bin
3. Type: PATH=~/bin:$PATH
4. Type: curl https://dl-ssl.google.com/dl/googlesource/git-repo/repo > ~/bin/repo
5. Type: chmod a+x ~/bin/repo
From terminal
1. type 'cd'. This will bring you to your root folder.
2. type 'mkdir beanstalk'. This will create a folder named beanstalk.
3. type 'cd beanstalk'. This will take you to the beanstalk directory created from previous step
4. type 'repo init -u git://github.com/scotthartbti/android.git -b kk44'.
9. Type '. build/envsetup.sh && brunch "device name"'
10. Previous step will start building beanstalk for your device. The process takes anywhere from 1 - 3 hours depending on your computer.
11. Once completed, it will say package complete and you will have a beanstalk named zip file in your out folder.

If you do a full clean install some won't it is a corrupted data folder from older Roms to the new 4.4 that is causing the camera issue but not everyone want s to wipe everything including internal storage

Yes I was hesitant at first but I've built and flashed many other phones with 4.4 and always do a full clean install. Backup your apps to your pc first.

Dirty Unicorns (DU) is a custom ROM originally based off AOKP, but now based from OmniROM. DU brings you a great mix of stability and customization. The idea to start a ROM like this was purely out of boredom, but later turned into a form of an addiction, a good one. We began to have fun while still doing things the right way. By doing so, we received high praise from not only our users but by fellow developers of other ROMs that enjoy seeing things done the right way. This ROM will always be free of charge without any strings attached or any of it's developers luring you into donating or any form of "pay to flash".
"Give credit and thanks where is due!" That's something that has fuel the way we do things! With that said, we would like to go ahead and credit those individuals and groups that have made this ROM possible with their original code and contributions to the Android community.....
