Hey guys! I plan on developing a new ROM coming up in the next week or so. This ROM will not be like any ordinary ROM. My goal in development has been to meet everybody's needs on a ROM. I take advice and suggestions from the people who will be using it the most. So to start things off i need to know the following from you guys:
1. TouchWiz or CM10.1 Based?
2. What Kind Of Theming?
3. Audio Mods? (I have permission for AwesomeBeats)
4. Performance Mods?
or pretty much anything else you want added. Please post below on what you want to see added! NOBODY is ignored and all options will be considered! I want to make a ROM that pleases a lot of people, although i know its hard to please everybody.
Let me know guys!
P.S. I need some good names for the ROM as well

I have a request pending for AC!D and Viper was actually going to be incorporated into Super Jelly (My current ROM).
TouchWiz themed in blue would be awesome.
Edit: I just prefer TouchWiz. Others prefer something else. To each their own. Nuff said.

4. Can't think of any Performance Mod, but am hoping all GAPPS included like Gmail, Earth, Maps with voice commands, Google+, Google Hangouts.

Make a Touchwiz/AOSP hybrid rom (using a Touchwiz base, of course. Lol) with several apps from AOSP, like the dialer, contacts, MMS, camera, gallery, etc. Not many devs have made hybrid roms using actual AOSP apps.

I love the features TW offers. I really loved a TW rom with AOSP theme. Awesome.
Beats for sound.
I have been using stock TW with Faux123 kernal and have noticed amazing snappiness and response. There are tiny things that I would like improved on:
1. messaging app - is there any way to get the quick reply feature in touchwiz messaging? If not, AOSP messaging seems to be more useful than the TW app.
2. My GS3 had an option to disable the screen turning on when a message arrived but it looks like this feature is not in stock note 2. This would be nice.
3. The loudness mod is great to increase volume, but this can be easily fixed with xposed module
Really TW works great. I'd just love little improvements and changes.

Well I had a ROM that ran on the MB4 base that had an AOSP theme. I discontinued it because of the bugs coming along with it. I will probably bring back another one for you guys! I decided to make 2 new ROMs:
1
*AOSP Based
*S4 Theme
*AwesomeBeats
*AC!D Audio (Awaiting Confirmation To Use)
*Aroma Installer
2
*TouchWiz Based
*AOSP Themed
*Wifi Calling
*Saberkernel (Going to ask ptmr3 for permission...he let me use in a previous ROM so give ALL THANKS TO HIM FOR THAT!)
*AwesomeBeats
*Viper Audio
*Aroma Installer
Any features that should be added to each ROM? Let me know!

This rom is GREAT! I have tried a few and this one if by far my favorite. Question though: I feel as if I am getting way more volume than I wanted, is there a volume mod/boost on this thing that I am not aware of? Also, the acid sound mod and sound enchancements (in system settings) - what do they do? I have been tring to figure out the ins and outs of this rom, I found out how to use multiwindow from another user, but is there a general guide for all these features some where that I'm missing? I just donated to SAC today for all his hard work, it's greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

Chemistry Rom is that deal I love how me having my phone flashed to boost and being able to use all the main functions like mms and voice mail all working with this ROM. Now what will be great if we can get call record added into it...

Lockscreen issue
Been running this ROM for a few days now and I've run into this issue a couple times. Sometimes when my phone restarts the lockscreen is rotated 90 degrees and I cant do anything. The only thing that seems to fix it is wiping dalvik. Any ideas as to whats going on here? It's obviously not a huge issue, but it's annoying.
Been using this for weeks. Its awesome, everything works. Just wondering if it'll work if I flash ma6 update? I just don't wanna screw up a good thing.

Thank you so much for rom, but a few questions.
Thank you so much sac23, this rom is amazing and the perfect solution for anyone who wants a stock TW feel rom with added functionality.
Ive been running the rom for about 2 weeks now, i have a couple questions, and a single bugs i may have found on this otherwise 100% perfect rom.
first, i had the phone crash 2-3 times. once was when switching between apps... the actual window that pops up to force close the app because it crashed has some !$# thing on the options. I also experienced this is i save a game file, on asphalt7 and leave the game by "quitting" although its not only isolated to this exact app, i am able to replicate it regularly.
second, i had a few questions
1- is there any way to make the toggles not shrink the icons when it gets to the last 10% of closing the notification menu? it makes it look twitchy when you open it fast.
2- i was checking out this "criskelo toggles" add on you put, but if i do it, how do i revert back if i dont like it?
3- is there any way to change the battery icon in the notification menu so that it doesnt display a percentage INSIDE the battery? i prefer using the stock percentage next to the battery, so its annoying having 2 battery percentages.
4-where can i donate? you guys deserve a reward for your work =P
I just wanted to update with a bug or two I found.
1-after taking a screenshot, pulling down the expanded notification drawer, clicking edit causes a force close/crash.
2- Gps tag in stock tw camera app is broken.
Das it! Thanks again devs

OK guys lets see. I'm getting quite tired and bored with my dumb ports. So I decided to make this thread to see what all your opinions on the best rom ever would be. Everyone is free to suggest ideas. This will be the greatest rom ever! One that makes everyone happy.
Launcher
Icons
Apps
Android Version
Theme
Tweaks
Type of rom - AOSP, AOKP, CM, MIUI, etc..
Sound Mods
Please be thinking about those so I can try and make a rom that can be for everyone. Name: OMNI-ROM
OMNI - Meaning everything or all
ROM - ...You should know what this means...
Alright there will be marvelc support as well. BAM!!!
So any ideas?
Hey thehacka1! Dude, I appreciate all your efforts and achievements and I don't mean to disappoint you with what I'm going to say, but....
I think all of these things are pretty much customisable. The only thing someone has to pick is the base rom and then he can transform it however he likes, even within the rom itself. So, I think we reached a point in which new rom posts don't make any noticeable difference, like those of alquez, modpunk etc back in the old days.
And to answer your question, what I generally prefer is the cyanogenmod UI. djoliviers "nameless CM10" and it's scripts cover my needs. I bypass the usb tether bug with 3rd party apps and use spiritFM for fm radio.
The only decision I have to make personally is whether to use a -Modded stock rom- and customise it however I like (launcher, apps, int2ext+ etc) or the cm10 port as I use it now.
Correct me if I'm wrong, plus I'd like to hear your opinion about what I think.

Thanks for your reply. I understand what you mean but what I was talking about was modding the framework. Alright then. Only one option left. Port Android Revolution HD and Toasted Marsh mellow. These are two ROMs our device does not have. Another is JellyBam. These will be my new projects:

ps. you can do it.
The only base I require is included...... marvelC support. Lol. But seriously, I ran Team Baked Black Beans aokp for quite some time on my Evo and loved it. I'm working on a few builds though, nothing to consider a breakthrough, I just wanted choices on the marvelc. And I'm really most comfortable building myself so when something doesnt work, I have an entire build environment at my disposal.

For me, the best ROM would use the newest JB and be compact/slim in size. Anything else I can learn to use and adapt to. I know there have been GPS issues, but if there was any way you could make that work - I would be overjoyed.
That's all. I don't ask for much.

you should try to keep all your questions in 1 post. you'll actually get better help that way.
you are on an AOSP rom. you want TW features which are woven into the stock firmware's framework. its essentially a choice: a few TW features vs custom AOSP optimizations. both can share some similar customizations, but not everything is interchangeable.
Any of the feature on TW WILL NOT WORK ON ANYTHING BESIDES TW.....
None!
They're dependant on touchwiz and won't work on anything else.

As long as source code for TW stays unreleased its impossible to port. That's why no devs bother to try and port. Its going in blindfolded. Same with Sense and other UI overlays. So when Samsung releases source code it'll be possible.

What features exactly? There's apps like Wave Control that do similar things...
Ya, there are a lot of apps that allow TouchWiz like features. There is a MMS apk for AOSP roms that has the while in messaging put phone to ear for Direct Dial. Just search in the playstore TouchWiz or galaxy s III things like that.

Well for that particular feature, I recently discovered that Liquidsmooth (and quite possibly CM, as well as JellyBam and others) have this feature in the settings for the stock messaging application. It's the last setting, labelled as "Direct Dial", but it's pretty inconsistent with the auto-dialing. I've noticed that when I'm laying down and attempt to call it won't work because if I put the phone to my ear the screen just flips to landscape view, and stays on. When I'm up right it tends to work, however I haven't had many opportunities to test this out yet.
That would be sweet if someone got two working with aosp, they need to release the code...
Introductions
This is a port of the N8020 (Note 10.1) from N7100/7105 found here.
ram9200 has made an LTE port to AT&T but is currently working on the Sprint version. Because this ROM has so much potential and is so amazing, I volunteered to manage the AT&T build, porting updates from ram9200's Sprint version. This will hopefully allow for updates to come in a more timely manner, and ram9200 can continue focusing on the development on the Sprint MiniTab.
I am not a developer and I will be learning as I go.

I do plan on working to enable NFC in the future. I will look into it later on as I fix some other things first. I think after we reach one stable build, porting future updates for the N8020 would be much easier.
This is saweeet! Like it alot! Look forward to more updates

Does the App Settings not save for just that one app or other apps as well? This build should not have the issue of previous ports as the folders and files have the correct permissions. Maybe reboot and try again, or uninstall and install again. You could also use the Xposed Installer to install the Xposed framework again. For my XDA app, I am using 220 DPI res 1280x720 and it seems to be a good balance of screen real estate and readability.

Unfortunately the camera is a hit and a miss. I'm trying to pair different sets of libs and different camera apks. Most of them force close but this is the best I could find at the moment. The camera is a high priority for me to perfect as I know that is the feature second of importance to calling. However, your specific problem might not be related to the camera libs and app but to the sensors libs. I will look into it and I appreciate more people giving me feedback on their experiences with the current libs/app setup. I know that some people have camera working perfectly. I am hoping that this is not a kernel specific issue as that is way beyond my abilities.

Im not sure if you are telling people that it will work as previous version or asking the question. To answer, I would not thing so as ram9200 had to port this from the N7105. You are better off looking in the thread on the first line of the OP. Taylor_Swift is ahead of ram and me as both of us are mostly porting his build and then ironing out issues that arises in the process.

Please recommend me a host because this is my first time working with a full ROM. In fact, it took me 5 hours to upload to 4shared and wish I had a better way. Speed is my biggest concern and I wouldnt mind paying a little to upload faster and for it to be easier for you guys to download as well. I checked dev-host but their file size limit is 512 MB. I was in a hurry so 4shared was the one I went with. Oh, and I hate captcha on other sites.

And again, I am still new to developing Android and I am just learning as I go. Updates will be slower but I also aim to provide the most stable build possible when improving or adding new features. At least then I know you guys can wait while using a stable device. Thank you for the feedback and testings. I will try to respond to every new issues that arise.
I really love the idea of this rom but how is everyone dealing with the TW launcher and all of the unusable space when in portrait mode on the top and bottom and the sides when in landscape? Is there any way to fix this via DPI settings or is it just the way it is?

Can you elaborate more on this? I was going to install it cause it looks cool but your comment made me think about it.
Thanks for any extra details!
Since its a Note 10.1 rom I take it the stock TW launcher is supposed to run in landscape mode. In portrait there is a lot of space on bottom and top that cant be used.
Sent from my GT-N7105 using xda premium
All that space on the bottom cant be used unless someone knows of a fix.

SHADOW is a very resource conscientious ROM @ around 260MB... radio is about 40MB and is included as well as TWRP 2.6 recovery
1 minute Initial BOOTUP TIME
Excellent Use of all available JB partitions
Very light and even somewhat future proofed... How, you ask?
Well I simply didn't include apps that were in the /system or /preload tray that are easy to update on PlayStore.
So what ends up happening is our device has an old version in system/apps and a newer version is in /data using space and resources in both folders.
Gnow for instance will have two copies [one old one new] as soon as we update if its included in the system/app.
Don't include it and it goes to /data only and works like a charm.
That being said I made excellent use of these folders we have on 4.1.2 .
My kernel is included... I built it from from Samsung source for full function of our device. Of course the Rom is compatible with our 4.1.2 kernels uvmc6 found in our dev threads for our devices.

~~~Giving Thanks~~~
Giving thanks is important. It lets people know that their work or answer is appreciated. It is a faster
method of feedback than posting a reply like "Thanks for your answer!" You must have one post to
give thanks, so here is a good place you can do that: The "Say Hi" thread.
You can go do that now and come back and finish here please.
You get 8 thanks per day, and they renew after 24 hours or so. Each thanks is independent of the others,
so if you give someone a thanks at 3, and then another at 4, those will renew at 3 and 4 the next day.
If you run out of thanks, then save that page in a new tab and give thanks later when you have one available.
If you use them all every day you are doing it correctly.
Another classic rom from Rushing?! DLing now! Woot!
Nice to see another one of your ROM's
Back with a vengeance!! Always liked your stuff bro... :thumbup:thanks for your contribution to this Hercules community.
Any screen shots? I am looking for something a bit more stable than jmt for my wife's s2! So how does it compare to jmt 6?
Loving it!
Not questioning, just asking.... What's wrong with Jedi? I've ran it several times in the past and never an issue. I only changed to go back to the AOSP feel / Vanilla. Everything Rushing has ever put out has been above par and right on task as a daily driver. I will say that he doesn't publish often, but when he does its worth taking a look at.
But like always, nandroid first and then test this out. If its not for you, no hard feelings, return to previous setup.
screen shots in OP now... I never tried jmt 6... from what i read there are lots of users. I predict this ROM to be more stable cause there is less going on, but this is still testing and not a final so we will see.
please report any problems... thanks
I will flash and report back tomorrow! It's my wife's s2 and ever since I flashed jmt 6 on her phone and she has been having small issues. And since she is not really that savvy with all this stuff she doesn't know how to fix it! I love jmt and have been using it before I went to AOSPA!
Glad you came back Rushing! The first custom ROM I flashed on my s2 was one of your ICS touchWIZ ROMs!
You could always after flashing this ROM, you flash a Telus specific kernel and radio!
That could always work, a lot of people from the sky rocket community flash ROMs from the t-mobile s2 forums they just flash their kernels and radios and it works just fine!
Bam very nice!
I'm sorry but is there a way to change the setting ui to stock color?
if not, thanks for great ROM
Rushing,
First, thank you for your hard work. I will be using this ROM as my daily driver.
I've been thinking about the UI recently and I see that you have power toggles enabled on your phone. Is is possible to create a MOD disabling the toggles and brightness bar so that power toggles takes the place of the SystemUI toggles? The reason I ask is because I think it would 1) be more visually attractive & 2) save space, the toggles and bar take up ~1/3 of the screen in the notification shade.
Also, I think it would be very efficient if the search key were remapped to recent apps.
*I know the things I mentioned potentially cause problems with stability but I think they would make good add-ons.:good:
Great room. Smooth. I have one question though. I couldn't get my Gmail calendars to show up. I downloaded Google services and even downloaded the Google version of the calendar. I checked my accounts and calendars don't show up to sync. I did a fresh install and used the wipe scrips.
