heard a lot about this emulator
many consider it a lot better than nds4droid
Much better than most emulators
the first link is of the demo version and the second is of the paid one
try buying the paid version if you like the demo version
First, to get nice performance
Enable multi threaded 3d rendering option in the options menu (change options) and restart the emulator (may give graphical glitches)
If your emulator is still slow, set filter to none (makes the screen look pretty bad, however liked by some people)
Disable sound for even more speed
And don't mess with the amount of frameskips
Here are SkyandDirt's tweaking (battery) which really was helpful
With this I could run the emulator for 3.5+ hours without heating up my device
max702MHz (mines at 590)
min384MHz
ONDEMAND
90%hotplug
128MHz max GPU
It saves a lot of battery at those settings and runs the emulator without slowing it (at least for me)
Yes it's great, I'm playing through prof Layton and the spectre atm.
Pokemon x and y though will be for the 3ds only afaik

Have you tried diamond or pearl on the emulator?
Sent from my Nexus 4 using Tapatalk 4
No I haven't tried, I'm not into Pokémon.
I've heard they run fine though, but make sure to get patched versions of those ROMs as they have anti piracy protection built in.
Example the prof Layton last spectre rom wouldn't get past the first puzzle until I got the patched version of the rom... In now on chapter 7
I tried Pokémon HG, White and Black 2... 100%! FULL SPEED! Amazing!
There's only a problem, the games crash really often.

Yeah, It is. With all the emulator like Desmume it works fine.
Pokémon Diamant/Perle/Platine/Black 1&2/White 1&2/HG/SS work (patched versions)! Tested with my N4. New super Mario Bros and Mario Kart also work

From what I've heard and read, emulators in the Play Store like Desmune are ported from their Windows versions, while this one is made from the ground up to work on Android.

The old save files are probably still in /storage/sdcard0/Android/data/com.dsemu.drastic/savestates (as long as you didn't delete the app/its data before updating). The new app directory is /storage/sdcard0/drastic.

Anyone having issues getting battery save files (.dsv) from drastic to play on desmume (pc emulator)? The save files play fine on my Nexus 4 with drastic, but desmume says they're corrupted. Any ideas?

I don't got the SGS2 yet. But that sounds more like you trying to play Final Fantasy 7-9? Or another Squaresoft game. They have some serious copy protections and Fpse is really sensitive. It needs a 100% good/accurate rom or it won't work =/
EDIT: I've tried to rip my discs many times on different PCs. Still don't got roms that work with Fpse
i had a quick try of an .img of omega boost and it worked fine. was so damn loud it woke the whole house up 5am lol.

I've not tried it on my s2 yet but have you selected a bios? many dont seem to work without one and you seem to have to select it for each game and also it seems to not get set the first time you select it.
Go settings set bios if it says "you need to restart" then click quit-> restart
then when it is running again double check that the bios is selected if not try again

FPSe working fine with MGS for me. God I love that game.
It's GENSoid & SNESoid that are causing me problems. I literally can not get a single rom to load in it. The app recognizes the roms, but always exits back to rom list when trying to load one. GBCoid is working perfectly, though. It's doing my head in.

I just got an S2 yesterday and have tried N64oid with Wave Race and there are some slowdowns with sound and frame rate along with a lot of graphical glitches.
I saw an Infuse run this just fine. Any suggestions?
I think this is nothing to do with the phone, but more to do with the emulator.
The author took it off the market to fix some problems with it. Hopefully it will come back more smoother, faster and compatible.
thats not true, the developer was forcefully removed, however he along with many other developers who have been forcefully removed have moved over to "Slide ME" app market, a 3rd party market, which is becoming a very awesome place. he has made n64oid, along with all of his other removed emulators (nes, snes, atari, sega, gameboy, gameboy advance) and made them all free, so be sure to check it out
are you on the most recent n64oid? he has updated it on Slide ME market, download the most recent version
He's heavily working on an improved version that he first said should have been done by the end of may, so any day now. It's gonna make games compatibility a lot better.
I just want to play the Zelda games. Anyone else get constant chop-ups and crashes on them?
Has anyone managed to hook up any controllers yet? Mario Kart is a real pain to play using on screen controls.

For Mario Kart use Sensor as Analog stick, and have Controls layout to "Top + Bottom"
this allows you to steer by moving the phone and gives you the Z (fire button) on the left, and A+B (accel, break) on the right.

How much have you played? I'm still inside the Deku tree and it's crashed maybe 3-4 times total It only seems to happen upon loading new areas, and it's completely random at that. Not an issue if you save very often. Majora's Mask is damn near unplayable though.
But damn, does the phone get hot! Far worse than FPse for example.
What's the changelog for the updated n64oid from slideme since the last update from the emulator nazi (android market) I haven't noticed any improvements I paid 6 dollars for the app

Yeah we are still waiting for the big update, the mov to slideme was in preparation for the release of the next version apparently
I hope it's coming soon. If the game compatibility becomes that much better I'd definitely buy it if he puts a price on it.
I know there's been lots of talk about how he allegedly uses open source code for his emulators and then charges for it without permission, but as this is the only n64 emulator available I don't care at all.
Personally I still am fine with my six dollars going to yongzh and am sad that his expertise in emualtors is now unwelcomed by google on its market. And my 4 dollars for his gba emulator too I hope he distributes his new n64oid release via email first to all that paid for it and then publish to slideme.

Well I don't think El Goog care about his expertise when they get a request to remove apps from the market. n64oid was removed due to a lot of the code being taken from mupen64 and them filing a request. That PSX emulator was taken down because it was breaching trademark.
Don't want to sound like a ****, but good riddance to be honest. If you are gonna use other peoples code, at least credit them.
Checkout N64oid v2.0.1 is released.
*Changes*:
v2.0.1
- Fixed depth issue on Galaxy S2
- Changed app icon
Here:- http://slideme.org/application/n64oid
N64oid appears according to commenters to be a crapshoot. It might work like a charm or might crash everytime.Yongzh hasn't shown a lot of haste to update his software in the marketplace so until he fixes most of the glitches and crashes I'd keep my 4$ in my pocket.Already paid once for half baked buggy software, 4$ is a good eats.
His pages on Slideeme now appear to give full credit(and maybe %) to the original coders.Step up I say.

Hmm where is it lagging for you? I am in the middle of disc 2 and the only thing that has lagged on me is the part where you try to stop the train from running into Barret's little town (forgot what it's called).
I am on AOKP and Franco, just installed GlaDOS to try to get some more performance but it is pretty playable.
edit: Try this on FPSe and see if it works for you. I don't have mine setup so I can't try it out.
go in fpse.ini file and set DisStereo=1
Will need root explorer or something to get to the FPSe directory but it might help.

On my Samsung Galaxy Tab 10.1, I've gotten it to minimal lag by enabling dual core mode (in my version it's done by default and the option is actually "force mono core" but I don't have it enabled) with the following things enabled under the "video" settings:
framelimiter
frameskip
and that's it. I also have my processor overclocked and i do NOT have the OpenGL plugin installed (don't do it).
The sound is messed up and don't EVER use Tifa's limit breaks during boss fights (freezes right up), but otherwise I run at a pretty consistent 60fpt.

It's strange, if you download the OpenGL plugin, the sound is actually fixed (well, 85% of the time anyway), but then strange things start to happen randomly. I've had menus go missing---namely the battle menu during battles---and sprites go missing (sprites are video game programmer speak for pictures of things). Like the little white hand that points at "continue" or "new game" on the load screen disappears. So I just deal with the sound being messed up. I'd rather have smooth game play than fully functional sound.
Mind you, the music actually plays correctly, but it sounds like a stereo recording trying to play out of a mono speaker set up, like there's a speaker that's broken and not playing. Probably something that'll get fixed eventually.
In either case, DO NOT USE TIFA'S LIMIT BREAKS DURING BOSS BATTLES. I've had the game freeze on me half a dozen times during that first boss battle she's in during the 5th Mako Reactor and during the Sewer Boss after the "cloud dresses in drag" scene. During regular battles she seems to be okay, but boss battles freeze up bad enough to have to restart.
Hope I helped out I'm currently about to bust into the Shinra HQ for the first time (way early in the game lol). I love my ps3 controller set up on there too. It feels just like playing when i was a kid...but on mute...damn sound

So basically, i am a small YouTuber, i dont do many videos, but yesterday i decided to do one on the perfect rom and kernel set up for gaming. I got my info however off the xda forums but i collated it all together. Please take a few minutes to watch the video and maybe even load the rom and kernel that i have with the few apps as well and enjoy lagless gaming, sorry if i posted this in the wrong forum :/ well heres the link

THANKS ALL!
Interesting this video shows how much the one x has come along since release
For example game booster ultra mode switches to performance governor which used to only into 2 cores on ICS also with trips kernel 1500mhz offers full quad which is not the case on stock kernel
Game booster isn't different than our own free gaming boost app on the one x forum but this app is definitely more advanced than ours, the latest v2.0 is more advanced
Finally android revolution 18.1 is for some reason running nova 3 in full effects, something we are not able to do with the latest version of this game on other roms
Good combination plus some luck :good:

Thanks hamdir! I believe that the reason it runs with full effects is due to the 3-dot bar being enabled, i read that in another thread on xda about games by gameloft that had been modded to run with full effects, just thought i'd show my combo on how to play this and other games smoothely, it works quite well

well not really the recent version of this game stopped working even with the 3dot menu trick, except ARHD 8.1 for some reason

Oh wow instead to point people to the play store app page you rather promote piracy.
I see.

The app is payed on the play store, but i do not have money on the store to buy the app, so i pirated it, im sorry i plan on buying it as soon as i get money for online, im young if you could not tell, i would like to support the dev and get updates as well. Besides, if you do not want to pirate it, go get it from the play store separately, i simply showed my method of getting it as i could not find it originally from the play store, there was only the outdated version, so i went online to search for the update, i will look for it on the play store however and update the link in my video if you think thats the right thing to do
