Hey guys.
Just flashed LiquidSmooth v2.9 on my T999 today and I was wondering is there a way I can change the number of signal bars in the status bar? I've always had 4 before I rooted and always wanted 5 or 6 signal bars like Verizon/Sprint phones do. Is there a way I can change this or I'm stuck with 4? I've checked this forum but had no luck... Thanks in advance!
I think your stuck. If I may ask, why does the total number of signal bars matter?

In some areas where I go, sometimes the signal bar drops to three or two bars. I just want to know if there's a way to add more so I can get a better idea on my reception. Just a personal preference.
You can always change your signal from icon to text

And yes it was 79 degrees outside my battery was @79% and coincidentally signal strength was -79
2 weather apps one shows 77 degrees and the other on the status bar shows 79.... just saying
I know that, but I read somewhere where you can change the number of bars displayed in the signal bar. Instead of having 4 by default, I want to know how to get 5 or 6.

I updated to the Jellybean ROM no problem, and then I made the mistake of trying to change the softkeys' appearance which disabled my notification bar and softkeys for some reason. After backing up my calls, texts, apps, etc. I had to go back to ICS and then update again to Jellybean. Everything is perfect except that the signal bars and wi-fi icons are grey so at first glance it looks like I have no reception. It's probably doesn't sound like a huge deal, but it's very annoying to me. It wasn't like this the first time I updated to Jellybean.

Grey bars means you aren't connected to Google Services, which again means you don't have internet connection.
Check your APN's. And if they are correct, try to make a new profile and activate that.

Go to your provider's Web page and check what the settings should be.
Then go to Settings > more > mobile networks > access point names
Check that the settings there match what your provider says.

Hi. I have a casual battery drain from time to time. I use betterbatterystats to check out the reason and two things are at the most-deep sleep and moderate signal. What's the second one about, does anyone know? I can attach some logs later, if needed.

Can it be from the baseband - I'm using .77 with stock .587 ROM and .587 kernel with CWM.

Hi, are you at some area with poor signal reception? I think it could be the thing when your phone reaches signal from far cell tower and it has to use more power to reach the cell tower. Or if theres a lot of towers it can use power switching and searching for towers.
I'm using 2G only and in my city the 2G reception is great, so I doubt it. I might try the previous baseband???

You can try other baseband, but I think its not gonna help. Well I didnt mean exactly the data (2G, or 3G), I mean just signal reception for calls, messages, etc.. So I think it will do the same even if the data were disabled. I was checking this app, but couldnt find anything about Moderate signal. You could try to contact the developer of this app, what that mean, or read some manual, if there is some.
Ok, i'll do it, but again, the signal strenght is at max all the time.... strange.

I am running my T-Mobile Note 3 on ATT. I have noticed whenever I switch from LTE to 4G that it shows no bars even though I know I actually have 3-4 bars of connectivity. Any ideas as to why this would be? Maybe something in settings?

I have also noticed that whenever I make a phone call, the status bars will switch to showing 4G icon only (from 4G LTE icon) and again show zero bars even though I obviously have a good connection and have no issues with the phone call. It must be some software bug.
This is on a rooted device with stock ROM by the way.

I just got fed up and switched my N900T to GSM mode only when home. More bars ( full ) and better battery life.
Ok I got it figured out. I had a setting checked off on Wanam that I shouldn't have and this was causing no bars to show when on 4G and edge. Unchecking took care of the problem.

The below screen shot shows approx 8 hours is this 8 hours since phone was removed from charger ? I think so just want to confirm.
Also the gap in network signal. I am assuming this means at some point for a certain amount of time my phone didn't have a signal ? If true this would be most odd as I have a cel fi signal booster in my home.
Thanks.

Yes you are correct the phone was on battery power and the signal was lost in the gap. Was it put in airplane mode. That would disconnect the mobile signal

No wi fi calling always off. Phone was also never put in airplane mode. So basically looks like my radio turns off sometimes.

There is another thread somewhere with people complaining about this happening to them, too. It happens to me, I think its a reporting bug in kitkat, mine shows big gaps too, but never has it not been connected to a tower.
I have recently got a LTE plan, however the 4g signal in my house is always just 2 bars, whereas 3g signal can be 4 bars and above. And I notice that the battery drains significantly faster with poor 4g signal. So I wonder if there's anyway to toggle back and forth between 3g and 4g? I've try tasker with secure settings but the lte option only support custom roms; I've also search in play store for 4g toggling apps but none of them seem to serve the purpose well. Do you guys have any ideas? Thanks in advance.
Type in your dialer 3845#×855# (the last 3 number depends on your phone model) >lte only> modem selection> rat selection, it will open a option like this

Thanks for your advice, but I need a more convenient way so that I can toggle between 3g and 4g depending on the reception strength, this is a bit too cumbersome to do on a regular basis. Thanks anyway.

Download 4G Switcher and use that app as a shortcut to the settings.
