So I just got a Gnex with sprint a few days ago and threw PA 3+ (4.3 version) and I've noticed that I only have blue bars when I'm connected to wifi but when I turn wifi off I the bars go white and I have no connection. Does anyone have any idea of what I can do?
The first image is when wifi is off
The second is when it is on

Yes flash a 4.2. Rom. Data isn't working for our phones on 4.3 just yet. Sprint /Samsung did not release binaries for 4.3

Oh OK thanks for letting me know

Hey guys anyone have any luck getting blue tooth tethering to work rooted on stock without getting kicked off of the 3g as soon as a device is connected to the gs3?

I have been using FoxFi and I love it. The latest Sprint ICS update seams to be blocking FoxFi. I know FoxFi is working on this problem but I was wondering if there is another solution without root until they fix it? I have tried the bluetooth version and the other bluetooth apps with no success. Has anyone had success with any other apps or ways? Or will I just have to wait for FoxFi to find a solution and come out with updated version?
Thanks in advance
Also I do not think pdanet is working but im not 100 percent sure.

when does your billing cycle end? and also how many gigabytes have you used so far during this billing cycle?
On my billing cycle I had like 50g used. LoL. No extra charge. I don't think this update is just on my phone because there are several people having this update. Why you think this is just for me?

I am going to take a stab and suggest Sprint is not happy with that kind of usage and finally plugged a hole.
I have been reading though forums that everyone is getting this update and its even on FoxFi website that its a Google update on ICS on not specifically a Sprint update. FoxFi is coming out with a counter update.
I was just wondering if anyone else has had luck with finding another way to have wifi hot spot without root. Until FoxFi comes out with an update.

Sweet if only roam control Dev would do the same

When you say 50g do you mean 50gb on sprints network? If so I applaud you good sir. Sprints network in my area makes it hard for me to use 2 gigs.
Yes! 50gb. I just download and leave it lol. Also set up hot spot when I'm mobile.
Does no one know of a killer working app for non rooted users?

Hello? Its the absolutely latest update. ICS 4.1.1 The Jelly Bean Update.
FoxFi Says: WiFi hotspot failed to start please use Bluetooth dun. It has been working all this time until latest update.
Any solutions?

Just curious, doesn't your phone heat up a lot when using it as a WiFi hotspot? I haven't used my phone as a hotspot since my Hero, hence my username, but it used to heat up fast.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using xda app-developers app
Yes it does but if I am going to use it like hardcore I put it on a laptop cooler on top one of the fans.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA Premium App
Under normal conditions its not that bad.

Why not just root and never need a third party WiFi hotspot app again?
You can totally unroot when needed
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
What's the best way to root the nexus? Something very simple and leaves the phone pretty much stock? Isn't there a 1 click root program that let's you do anything to your nexus?

Rooted stock count?

I don't know. What's the best program where I can just root the phone and put an app on it that will allow wifi hotspots with jelly bean 4.1.1 update.

I tried restarting, soft resetting, and on data and WiFi to fix this, but idk what's wrong. I have been on aokp build 1 for almost a month, same with Franco milestone 5 kernel.
Any ideas? Thanks.

I've been running into the same issue on my Nexus S and my N7. Anybody know of a fix? Is this problem common between only Nexus devices?
Sent from my Nexus S 4G using xda app-developers app
I dont think it is just you, I am on stock 4.1 and am having the issue as well. It isn't working on my nexus 7 either that is running aokp.
Same for me as well. Something must be wrong on googles end.

Open Google Now, and the error will come back. Sync'ing is not affected by the server issue for some reason.
It has to be on Google's end. Did the manual sync and it came back. Both gnex and n7 have it but my n1 is not affected

Strange, hopefully this is just a temporary hiccup

My roommates Droid Razr doesn't seem to be affected just my GN, manual sync did nothing for me.
Same thing happening here. Cleared cache and dalvik, must be on Google's end.

Anyone notice a difference with new baseband? Not sure if I need to flash it or not. I'm running 4.2 just didn't change bb.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
I will do so real life testing tomorrow and I will report back.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
I've noticed a huge difference in signal strength. With the old baseband I used to get 2 bars around home and the office.
I switched to DVLF1 from the i9250T for 850Mhz networks and got a slight boost.
But with the 4.2 one I've got full reception at home and office. Also noticed an increase in voice quality.

Thanks guys. I haven't changed baseband since I got my nexus. With my g2x there were always problems when changing.

With the new baseband I am getting an additional two bars where I never had any. Seems to be a lot more power efficient as well.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
My Gnex used to not be able to pick up any signal in the basement, now it at least keeps one bar in the worst scenario.

I flashed last night. So far it seems to be doing great. Don't know that my signal is any stronger but it didn't seem to hurt anything.

Best response ever
When a Galaxy Nexus updates OTA from 4.1.2 to 4.2, this baseband update is also included, right?
Nuno
Is the new baseband part of the 4.2 OTA we are starting to receive or is it something that has to be flashed separately ?
If not within OTA, is it not official? How are average users ment to benefit from the improvements ?
thanks
Of course it is part of the OTA. Chill out.
Signal strength on par with all recent basebands.
One huge difference: I keep getting 10 to 13 mbit/s download with XXLH1, whereas I barely got past 5mbit/s on all previous basebands.
