[Q] Galaxy ACEII CWM Problem - Galaxy Ace II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Dear Specialists,
I am using GB on my Galaxy ACEII now.
When i bought it GB on it then i install JB (Offical version for Turkey)then i dont like it cause of slowness and freezinf problem then i go back to GB again...
In the past i can use CWM on this phone one time but now i cant do it...
My phone is rooted now and when i check it (with Root Chacker) everything look like ok about root...
But now when i try to use cwm again, i flashed its file in Recovery Mode then i flashed it in Recovery Menu then restart my phone then when i go to Recovery Mode again CWM not open and i see same (standard) Recovery Menu again...
In the past before reach CWM i need to flash another file or something like that (i am not sure because my brain really mixed) and somebody told me i need flash cwm.zip everytime if i wanna use it after standart recovery menu...
Can anybody help me about that cases (if possible with im [with gtalk, skype or sth like that) because really i have brain salad... :'(
Thanks a lot all replies from now on...
Sincerely...

then how so you root your Ace 2's GB? Do you access CWM to root?
Anyway, you can get rid stock recovery by using ex kernel v1.7 (i use it every time I go to GB). This kernel change the stock kernel automatically to CWM, and also it can use to root (use root file and install it via CWM)
Install the kernel using ODIN and put it on PDA

What happen ????

My phone was rooted and working fine now all of sudden I went to install a new zip and now it says error no such path error cant open file can not open data cache etc.. what happen and how do I fix it???
Please help
wow dont everybody help at once
What exactly are you trying to do? I mean you try to flash a zip with cwm? If so you go in to install zip and either choose the internal or external memory and choose the zip you want to install. Maybe you also need to reflash the cwm.

Saturn,
If you managed to flash CWM, your device is not that dead.
First thing I would try, is to load CWM and do a Factory reset, and Wipe cache. Than, reboot your device.
If this doesn't work, I don't see how CWM could help you, as Galaxy Nexus don't have external SD Card.
For CWM to work properly, you must first transfer your files to the virtual sdcard, than reboot to CWM and use that files.
If you can't boot, you can't put your files inside the device, so CWM is useless at this point.
So, what I would do right now, is:
1. Revert your device to stock..
Google for it. You'll use FASTBOOT or ODIN to reflash all partitions to stock ones.
This will even replace CWM for a stock recovery.
2. Flash CWM again.
Your device is probably working at this point. So, you can flash CWM again.
3. Reboot to CWM recovery and perform a backup. Keep it for future use, so you can restore your device at any time.
4. Download any roms you would like to, and have fun playing with your device!
Ps: Now I see that the original post was from Dec/2011.. Sorry for that.

[q] installed cwm-r on boot :(

I accidently installed CWM_recovery on boot mode and now when ever i turn my phone on rather then boot the recovery menu pops up..... please guide me how install the stock rom back to my phone.... please help....
Your question is not really clear. You say you flashed clockworkmod recovery and you are not able to boot into a ROM. Did you delete your ROM/wipe system? You need to reflash a ROM from recovery, first download one on your pc (stock ROM available on Xda) and then transfer it to your sdcard. Now install the zip through recovery.
Does that work for you?

You're not telling us much but if I had to guess I'd say you flashed a recovery after formatting system so there's no ROM to boot. ADB push a ROM to your sd card then flash in recovery.

The actual situation is that i was about to flash cwm recovery using galaxy nexus toolkit it asked whether i want to install it on 1.boot 2.recovery 3.user data etc etc and instead of recovery i accidentally selected "boot"... And then whenever i switch my phone on cwm recovery menu pops up instead of my stock rom.

[Help Urgent] Cant Access Internal on pc

i tried rooting my galaxy s3 and i followed a guide i apparently cant post cause its an outside link, all was going great but i didnt realize that i wasnt supposed to unzip the Team Epic root from recovery folder, so when i tried to install from zip it wasnt a zip it was unzipped. I was thinking i could just put the zip on the internal but now i cant access it i get the feeling this is because of clockwork... so what should i do? i just need to install the zip folder if i could get it on my internal, if i could figure out how to go to stock thatd be good i just need to access it again. Help anyone? i thought it said something about not booting into the rom cause it deletes some files so it wouldnt work, is it safe to just power off? (i removed the battery once, do it again?)
You need to get the Team Epic zip on your internal sdcard. If you can not get there without rebooting that is ok. You will lose the cwm recovery when you boot. At that point you need to download the team epic zip and start over from the beginning. No harm done.

so you are absolutely sure if i remove the battery and boot normally to access the internal that i will be fine and it has not deleted files?
sorry im such a complete noob at rooting and stuff
WARNING: Do not boot into Samsung's ROM without first applying our Root .zip. Samsung's OTA updates install /system/etc/install-recovery.sh and /system/recovery-from-boot.p, which cause Samsung's ROM to replace the recovery image you had just flashed with the stock recovery. Our Root .zip removes these files, thus preserving your custom recovery. Follow the directions below to boot directly into CWM recovery.
Ya all that says is you will lose what you just flashed, basically starting you over.

If you flash a custom recovery and do not also flash the Team Epic Root from Recovery ZIP (or something similar) the ROM will detect that you have a non-stock recovery when it boots. The ROM performs a signature check and if the recovery fails the check it will replace it with the stock recovery. That essentially puts you back at square one.
You can then download the Team Epic Root from Recovery file and save the ZIP to your internal sdcard. Then start all over.
- Power off the phone Boot into Download Mode (Vol-Dwn + Home + Power)
- Run ODIN and connect your phone.
- Load the CWM recovery (do not have Odin reboot when complete).
- Disconnect the phone and pull the battery when complete.
- Power up the phone in Recovery (Vol-UP + Home + Power)
- Flash the Team Epic ZIP.
- Reboot.
- Enjoy your rooted phone.
If you fail to flash the Team Epic file before rebooting the rom will not "delete any files". It will simply restore the stock recovery.
Flash this in Odin instead of the custom recovery. It will root you and reboot. You can then get the custom recovery with goo manager or ROM manager.

[Q] clockworkmod help

I installed cwm using ROM manager. Right now, there is no problem with phone's working, and I was also able to backup my stock ROM. The problem is, when I flash a new ROM (using rom manager), it ends up in the same stock ROM with factory reset. I can't also boot into the clockworkmode recovery. What shall I do to replace the current cwm version with a working version?
Go into download mode and reflash ur stock rom with odin. You will also have stock recovery back.
Re-root and flash cwm with your stock recovery.
Thats it.
Youre a lucky guy if your phone still wants to boot after rommanager cwm...
Just to make sure, you can flash roms WITH rommanager, but not FROM rommanager.
The ones in their list arent compatible with our gio.

Thank you..
Since I am a beginner, can you please tell me about getting into download mode and reflash using odin.
I can still boot into my stock recovery. I have downloaded 'cwm 6 for gio' from xda. Can I install this using 'install from sdcard' option in stock recovery? Will it get updated properly or end up in bricking my phone?
(Sorry to ask very basic questions)
