[Q] A Few Questions - AT&T Samsung Galaxy Note II

I've been wondering....
1. Is there any really close 4.2.2 or 4.3 TouchWiz rom's yet that have S-Apps on it yet?
2. If not what is the best, or closest TouchWiz-esque 4.2.2 or 4.3 rom?
I just just feel like all CM, AOK/SP roms feel naked Without TouchWiz or S-Apps, yes I know there's some alternative S-Apps for CM, AoK/SP roms.
3. Has anyone thought of trying to incorporate ChameleonOS With TouchWiz like the MyMiUi?
4. And there really still is no sign or mention of a Official Sammy 4.2.2 or 4.3 for us yet is there?
I wanna upgrade to 4.2.2 or 4.3, but I don't wanna TouchWiz and keep looking at my rom/phone feeling like something is lacking or missing from it.

For a touchwiz Rom I like cleanrom 5. If you want an aosp Rom go with slimroms or beanstalk

Rom Sizes

I am curious to know why the SGS3 roms based on touchwiz are so large?!? They are roughly 650MB compared to AOKP which is about 160MB. Even the debloated stock rom about 350MB. Not bashing our Rom devs, just wondering what could take up 300-490MB.

well the stock rom is around that size too...
I'm curious about that, too. My Nexus S only had ROM sizes about 50mb. But one thing is the ROM didn't have any APPs, I had to flash those separately.
anything on a base rom (TouchWiz, MotoBlur, Sense) they all are way above AOSP stock size. Nexus S is based on AOSP stock. There is an insane amount of bloatware and crapware and "extra functions" that our stock rom comes with. Just the way it is.

[Q] GS3 return to sense ui

I have a AT&T GS3 and am running cyanogenmod 10 stable version but it is set with a pure android os, and i liked all the features that the samsung nature ui offered. Would it be possible to put back the nature ui??

No. You either have to choose between AOSP or TW. TW being the original.

if you want to return your phone to factory touchwiz style and settings, i've attached a link. these are the stock firmwares for each carrier. download the correct one and there ya go. i've also attached a link with directions for using odin to flash if this is what you're wanting to do. read over this and understand what you're doing before proceeding. cheers
stock firmware (touchwiz): http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1968625&highlight=stock+firmware
odin software and samsung drivers: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1671969
personally i'd prefer AOSP roms better than touchwiz
there are only a few things i really love from TW like the S Notes...
but again if you want TW, just download stock rom and flash it with odin
alternatively you can actually download TW theme for your CM/AOKP rom too(if you want to stick with CM/AOKP/AOSP roms while want the TW looks and feel)
I dont really want all of the bloatware by just flashing a stock one. Im a noob to this, could i flash a different kernal??

Like I mentioned, you can't have TW on a AOSP ROM. But you can flash a custom TW ROM if you really want those features. You'll find them in the Dev section (not the original).
There are also debloated stock firmware on here but after getting a taste of custom ROM, I believe you'll want to stick with them

there are several solid roms in the android development section are debloated versions of stock touchwiz. all the garbage has been removed and some cool features have been added in. i've heard the cs rom and graviton are good. read up on these and make sure you understand how our phones work in general. i wouldnt start playing around with roms, kernels, etc until you know more. wouldnt want to see your phone bricked.

[Q] ATT GS3 I747 ROM touchwiz based

Hello everyone,
I was fedup for my samsung bloatware and stuff so I decided to root my device and was using CM 10.2 for sometime.
so far I liked this custom ROM. But due to some touchwiz specific features I want to go back to the touchwiz UI, specifically for camera, multi window etc. but the bloatware which comes free with it scares me off.
so can you please suggest if there is any custom ROM available which is based on touchwiz and at least provide android 4.2.2 if not 4.3
or if there is any other ROM out there ( non touchwiz based ) which does provide samsung camera and multi window functionallity.
with thanks.
What you need to do is have a look at development forum and look thru the roms available for the features you require. that's your best bet at finding what suits you.
^^ This ^^
As these threads usually spiral into arguments about which rom is "better" than another and are full of opinion, this thread is closed.

[Q] Build AOSP ROM

Hello Developers
is someone able to create an AOSP (KitKat 4.4) ROM for our Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini? It would be great if we have a "vanilla" Android version for our Smartphone and this can be used as base for other ROMs. Would be great if someone could build it
Greetings

Most ROM are based on AOSP or CM (which CM is based on AOSP) :/
And if you want a minimum ROM, there's few ROMs are even less 'bloat' and more 'vanilla' than AOSP itself.
I think he meant that he wanted an actual aosp rom, not just an aosp based rom. While we don't have a pure "aosp" rom for our phones, cyanogenmod is pretty close, slimkat is also pretty bare if you're into that. I'm sure a lot of people could port it, it just remains to be seen if any developer is interested enough to actually do it.
Yes a pure AOSP ROM would be great. The whole ROMs which are aviable for our device are based on AOSP so I think it wouldn't be so difficult to build one from AOSP isn't it?

Slim kat is equal to Slim ROM? In that case there is already a port to the S4 mini in the developer section of this forum

most stable AOSP rom

Alright, so my dad has the Sprint Note 2 with Ma7 stock TouchWiz rom rooted. I don't want to put him through a whole firmware upgrade so I was just going to install an AOSP rom, it has to be 4.4 because he nor I like 5.0. I would like to know which one is stable and won't require any updates. The reason he wouldn't switch to AOSP before was because they had bugs. Thanks

CyanogenMod 11 (Android v4.4.4) is my current daily driver and very stable. I run Nova Prime launcher on top of it for a bit of a TouchWiz-ish feel, and then I'm running NoteBuddy to get some of the basic S-Pen functionality back so that the S-Pen isn't a complete waste. I've tried to move up to CM12 several times, but it's just not as stable and now Android 5.1 is dropping, so basically that instability is going to start all over again...
