Help bricked note 2 - Sprint Samsung Galaxy Note II

Hey all any help appreciated. I was messing around with hidden menu and borked my phone. It started with unknown baseband then everything else started going downhill. I did nandroid backups to stock odin. I panicked and was out of options. I repartioned in odin and that was it. No internal memory and everything unknown. I tried everything stock ljc and used the t0lte.pit by garwin. Nothing worked im completely out of options. Any suggestions or advice?

What happens when you Odin the Sprint factory firmware? I hate to say it but in an Odin thread for the T-Mobile S4, it says in all caps, DO NOT REPARTITION! But then again, that was for the S4... I remember it was necessary to repartition the Sidekick 4G when going fully back to stock after enabling voodoo lagfix.
Anyway sorry, other than that, I don't know what to tell ya. Hopefully someone else knows more

my phone came with this firmware. is this just posted to revert to stock if on a custom rom or is there other significance?
Has anyone tried flashing yet?

So this must mean we can flash fash back to stock with odin if we have problems.
yup! this is our fall back ROM. now we need a triangle away to reset the counter!
It Works
I decided to be the test monkey on this one.
I had a nandroid backup of when I screwed my system so badly it just boot looped repeatedly. Restored that with cwm, verified it was still hosed, unpacked this zip, used odin to burn the .tar.md5 to the phone as PDA, rebooted.
It does some gear chunking while booting the first time then reboots - don't panic yet! On second boot it does some more rebuilding, then 'WELCOME!'
Bonus: CWM now sees the actual external sdcard as /sdcard and can find things like roms and backups on it. Edit: This CWM finds .zips on the sdcard, but doesn't seem to know how to backup/restore.
So is this for un rooting our phones?

After burning this with Odin I ended up with a CWM that I didn't expect - and I've never seen one that actually recognized the external card. However, with all the things I've been trying it's quite possible I ended up burning a boot image I forgot about. I need to try reburning this and see if anything changes, but can't do it right now.

Mine stock is T999UVLEM, whats the difference between the two?
does this restore everything, including stock recovery, but resetting the counter?
Strange - I had kind of a weird experience with this. I flashed via Odin as usual (as I've done a 100x before) and when it rebooted, it still had remnants of the previous rom I had installed. I didn't get the "welcome" screen as if I was starting from a new factory rom. but at least it got me back to step 1 and I could flash the Lean 2.1 rom again to repair my screw ups.

How do I find out if I have the original kernel from my carrier?

I bought a phone from Craigslist and it is in great condition, very happy with it.
But the seller told me all I had to do was flash any ROM and I would be set.
Of course, wiping the dalvik and cache files, first, etc...
But one thing I remember reading was, before flashing a new ROM I should Odin the phone to stock settings.
How do I go about finding out if the kernel that's on the phone now is proper?
Or do I just get the kernel files and Odin them back on my own?
(never Odin'd before)
Thanks in advance.
Best bet is to Odin back to stock ics and reroot and install cmw file. That way u can be fully sure of what u have. Starting always from scratch is best way to do things

So being this phone is from Telus (Canadian carrier), would anyone here be able to tell me if this would be the proper ICS/ROM for the phone?

I'm 99.9% confident it is, but better to ask than screw something up.

DO NOT FLASH CWM TOUCH through ROM Manager, KILLS IMEI and 4G DATA!

I see that there is a growing number of people losing their IMEIs and their 4G data service from T-Mobile, as I had the same problem after trying to flash CWM Touch through ROM Manager. After flashing the recovery, I turned of the phone and turned it back on only to receive EDGE speeds. After further research I also realized that my phone has a IMEI of 0. Even after restoring my IMEI through GEEK's method, my data speeds are still EDGE even after flashing complete stock rom through ODIN, data speeds are still EDGE. Just want to know if anyone else had the same issue, after flashing CLOCKWORK Recovery or Clockwork Touch Recovery through ROM Manager.
UPDATE: Would like to know if anyone flash Clockwork TOUCH Recovery through ROM Manager and not the regular clockwork, as I remember when I flashed the regular clockwork first, everything was fine until I paid the 2 bucks and got TOUCH Recovery, is when my IMEI and 4G were lost.
I originally had CWM touch 5.5.0.4 by using the DD method through terminal emulator in order to preserve my binary counter, but then I flashed the standard clock work recovery through ROM manager and then CWM Touch which caused my IMEI and 4G to go bye bye.
I flashed cwm through Rom Manager last week and everything seems to be working fine.

Is flashing the Sprint way when the phone first came out the wrong root method?I rooted that way but have stayed on stock bc of this imei method. What is the"correct way"to root?

I would like to know this as well. I rooted using the Sprint way and have not flashed one single thing because of the imei issues.
I used that method(sprint) and still have my imei. I've flashed FreeGS3 a bunch of times and a couple of themes without iussue so far.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
I used the Sprint method, and pretty much immediately flashed CapRom then redrum's FreeGS3 and Lean build, along with the Adama003 kernel. Then even flashed CM9 and AOKP. All of this was through the Sprint CWM. I finally got ancy and pushed TWRP through terminal emulator(since nobody had issues with losing IMEI with that recovery), so I would feel safe flashing JB AOKP.
I would suggest backing up your IMEI so you don't have to worry about it anymore, push a different recovery, and then go flash crazy! Here is the link to backup/restore: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=29514187.
Happy flashing! I'm really digging the new Wicked blue ROM!

I used the sprint cwm & odin...via some video found in this forum that said it won't trip the counter. Lost imei & only edge. The vid did say that it would work for tmo & I read other users posts after they had done it. I didn't do anything else after that, I only wanted it rooted. Not sure what I did wrong and I really want to know.
Curious...what do they do with the phones that are returned by a customer?
You guys can back up your imei now. Its in the development section. There's even a video walkthrough.
I've flashed, backed up, and restored through different ROMs including CM9, CM10, TW roms, and EuroSkank builds...IMEI is still intact.
Used Odin to Flash recovery then used ROM Manager Premium to update to latest CWM.

i used odin to flash CWM but then i try to flash CWM through rom manager and it freezes??
any help guys?
Thanks
This thread needs to be renamed as there is no proof at all to what the op said, they lost their IMEI and want some one to blame sadly they try to blame the peeps behind rom manager and cwm touch, the same people who put tons of energy and free time to make every phone better for us.
Please op change the title or mods change it, it is not fair to the devs who work hard to have one person who has 1 post to blame them
This post is a little bit misleading. I'm sure that Kush over at Rom Manager would not appreciate a post that scares people away from using his application. This may have happened to a few people, but to state that you will lose your IMEI when you flash Rom Manager is just not true. I may be wrong, but losing your IMEI probably has a lot to do with not taking the proper steps to correctly flash a ROM.
Omg guyz iz flashed a I9300 ROM and it screwed my phone! But it was probably the CWM! Stay away from CWM guyz!

[Q] In need to some help, need to reset or nuke my phone.

OK, so here is my deal. I got my SGS2 a little over a year ago. With the help of this forum I was able to root without issue and flash many of roms. I am now at a point in my playing around that I am having issues doing anything. I would like to just factory reset in Kies, but I can't even do that. For some reason (I have a telus phone), Kies thinks I am a T-Mobile phone, or at least its what I can tell. When I launch Kies and it displays the phone and the and its settings eg: PDA, Radio, etc they all say TMB. I have no idea if that has nything to do with it or not. I tried flashing the Telus radio via Odin, though nothing changed in Kies. The last ROM I used seemed to have screw my Clock Work Recovery and I cannot figure how to get it back. I have tried re-flashing CWR, but I don't think I really understand the difference between Touch and Touch-less. As you can see I am fairly lost at this point. I am turning to all of you for help. I am open to trying anything, just point me to some guides, tips, tricks. I have tried a ton of stuff with no luck. I know these questions get asked all the time and I apologize for making another. I would not be doing so unless I really needed the help as usually I am pretty good with this stuff. I appreciate everyone in this forums and all the time they have put in to bringing us great information. I am thankful to anyone that can help me out. If you need any further info please just ask and I'll provide it as fast as I can!

I have, actually I may be running it now actually. It just seems like I have a lot of over lapping stuff. Things that were not fully removed, parts left behind, etc. Is there a easy way to lock up what ROM is running. I assume it's the stock rom as I have the Samsung Apps application on my phone and that is removed with most custom roms. Like I said I really just want to nuke this biatch and start from step one again. She is running like crap atm.
If you flashed the stock Rom you won't have cwm any more. You'll have to reflash it. The phone will be like it was when it was new.
You can get the stock Rom from Sammobile.com for your device and carrier. You 'll have to extract the tar.md5 file out of it using 7_zip. Then flash it with Odin

I think the reason I am confused is if it worked, which it appears that it did why does it retain all my data? I would just like to totally kill the ***** to nothing. I'll try flashing to stock again with the site you provided when I get. I appreciate your help!

Im doing that now but I flashed a 4.3 rooted rom and now i get mobile network not available.
Im flashed to virgin mobile and really need my phone for my road trip.
Any help?
Will the stock odin version fix everything?
You're gonna have to start all over from scratch. You'll need to locate the instructions to flash and provision your phone to your current carrier. If you bought your phone already flashed for your carrier and didn't do it yourself then you will have to do it yourself via methods found here at XDA or take it to the place you bought it from and hopefully they can re flash it for you. If they can't then you're on your own. That's basically all you can do at this point so start searching the development forums here at XDA and I'm sure you'll find a thread that will help you.
Well if have baseband unknow and meid unknown. Goodluck finding a fix my phone worked. Fine then it rebooted on its own and restarted. With no signal i checked about phone and it lost.its identity. Unknow for everything just about . I just got a lg g2 and use my note 2 as a tablet now for my daughter. I searched everywhere for a fix. Hours and days fix trying everything. To fix it. Not worth the headache just get a new phone.

I suggest doing billards back to stock mc2. Then in dialer do ##yourmsl# then change everything to 10 0's save and then should have signal. Do hands free activation or *22804. If no signal you will need to flash a prl with custom hiddenmenu.apk or dfs.
