Hey Guys,
I been a member here for a while and dont really ever find the need to post anything because you guys answer my question in other peoples problems This time I am stumped. I cannot ge this phone fixed.
I have a Spring Samsung Galaxy S2 (Epic 4G Touch) that was flashed fully working for Page Plus. This was unknown to me when I got the phone and was asked to fix it. I flashed the stock rom back to it (HOME_SPH-D710_CL852097_user.tar) using odin. Thats when i learned it was a page plus phone.
So my question is, how can i get this phone to work on Page Plus again. I assume it was flashed with a donor phone that i do not have access to.
Thanks for reading this far and any help you can provide.
Also,
My friend is OK if I can make the phone work on boost if that is an option. I flashed a boost rom thinking it was a sealed deal......nope.
APN and MMSC settings have to be correct. Just flashing a ROM does not set the provider settings.

OK. Thats a good start.
Do you or anyone have these settings and the know how of how to change them?
I don't know the settings. There are a few tutorials in the general section. Google could help or our very own search function.
You may have wiped out the Pp flash with odin. That will require a new donor phone to fix. The APN and MMSC settings will need to be set after. But chances are you just need to set those as I am not sure if going completely back to stock wipes a provider flash.

I have flashed a page plus prl using QPST and that at least got the phone services running. Talk and text. still no data and mms.
I have googled and changed the APN and MMSC settings with no change in functionality. And I have gotten the sprint hands free activation to stop bothering me.
If the info is out there, I have googled my eyes out. Can anyone spoon feed this information if they have it.
I need data and MMS working on this messed up Epic 4G touch.\
Thanks again!

Is the phone registered with Sprint? Do you have mobile service with Sprint with that particular device?

Oh, I see. Have you tried perusing the MetroPCS thread for answers. I have never used MetroPCS and am unfamiliar with its hack(s). Sorry.

As he suggested, browse the metro pcs thread, since you can't actually post there yet. I too have no knowledge on it, sorry.
hey guys i lost 4g after switching a rom. i switched back to the old rom stil didnt work any body have a pic or am i screwed
What does your imei say?
And there is a q&a forum for these types of threads

If it shows H+ then that is 4g. Just different icon.
Sounds like you lost your imei.
Hopefully you did your research before modifying your $600 phone and you made a backup of your imei since this is a common problem and a way to prevent it/back it up has been developed. Otherwise., good luck. You can try to insert your imei again ( not a simple process) but it well never act the same again if its been lost.
Best bet is new phone
Check in you're settings menu and see what it says your imei is in about phone. If it says 0 instead of the imei then you lost imei

Follow ALL THREE steps to get your 4G back. It's easier if you go back to a TouchWiz ROM for the *codes.
thank you

Need a bit of help..... I rooted my phone and now I'm trying to get my phone as a hotspot. Problem is... Every app I tried to use in the app store doesn't work. And if I can get one to work, I can't get any devices to find my phone hotspot.
Sorry if I posted in the wrong section..... I'm a noob to the rooting process and to this site
You can find that info in the Sprint Galaxy S3 FAQ.
You haven't searched.

Now, depending on what software your on, crawjr over in the dev section has came up with zip files to allow use of the native stock tethering app. Im on the MD4 software right now and I use the native hotspot all the time.
All you have to do is zip it using CWM or TWRP...easy as that.
here is the link:

Hi I'm a S3 T-Mobile user and I been trying to get my girlfriend to root her sprint s3 so she could use the hotspot for free instead of paying for it and also to trick out her phone. My phone us rooted and Im always trying out different ROMs. I did brick my phone when I first got it. But thats because u downloaded a ROM and didn't notice the download was incomplete. So now she's having trouble getting any signal in our new apartment. So my question is, if she root her phone and try a different ROM. Would it help getting a stronger signal. Are they any ROMs or kernel that would the signal problem.

Honestly, it's just Sprint. Rooting will allow her to flash different modems but unless you live in an LTE area, you probably won't see a major difference. I'm not sure about the ROMs or Kernels but I don't think they would change the signal she's getting.
+1 you can try out different modems.
ROMs have absolutely nothing to do with coverage, signal, mobile speeds, whatever you wanna call it.
+2 plus this thread will most likely be moved. Question go in the Q&A section.

Hello all,
Basically, I bought (very cheaply) a sprint S2 Epic from a friend, whom had it already flashed to page plus. Everything worked when they had it (3g data, mms, sms) now I already have page plus and want to switch over from my old droid x to the new S2. Is this simplier than I am making it, or does this require a re-flash with my number? Any help will be greatly appreciated.
Ok, i got the phone on my number on page plus. I have voice and text but no data and the roaming icon is on. I've searched some threads and saw the PRL fix but mine is updated to the newest Verizon one 53166. My phone is not rooted, so i couldn't do the other fix where it changes the Sprint to Page plus on the notification bar. I would like to get this working correctly soon, and would be willing to paypal someone a little money for some help here. Thanks

You don't have to be rooted to use pc Odin. Try flashing a jb modem(gb27 is as good as any), and then update your prl and profile, reboot, and see if that helps.
Edit: Kenny, would you be so kind as to move this to q&a please? OP, for future reference, questions go in q&a, not general:thumbup:

Sorry about that, won't happen again.
Anyway, thanks to Viper32 for helping me solve this problem. The phone needed to be re-flashed, which is hastily did for me and now everything works flawlessly.
