About Theme
Recovery gone App.
This is a heavily modified version of the theme by thecoby.
Simple and intuitive.
Port the theme as much as you like.
You use this theme at your own risk.
Compatibility
The theme stays compatible with new versions of TWRP until TWRP changelog says otherwise.
Theme will work on any device with a resolution of 720x1280.
MultiROM theme requires MultiROM recovery.
How to use:
Download the theme of your choice and rename it to "ui.zip".
On SD card open TWRP folder and create a folder called "theme", without capital letters.
Copy ui.zip to theme folder.
Restart to recovery.

What's the difference between the dark and the dark_minimal theme?
The minimal themes only have one highlight color (dark holo blue).
The main advantage of the minimal themes is their reduced boot time compared to the multicolor versions.
They're ment to be used as base for porting or creating other single color versions.
Can I use this theme on my *devicename*?
Most likely yes. The themes can be used on any device with the screen resolution the filename of the theme suggests.
For example, the "1080_*variant*.zip" can be used on any FullHD device.
When I reboot to recovery, the theme isn't applied. Any ideas?
This is most likeley due to wrong naming of the theme folder or the ui.zip.
Make sure the folder is named "theme", without capital letters.
Also check if you accidentally renamed the downloaded zip to "ui.zip.zip" (common pitfall when renaming the zip in windows explorer).
When I reboot to recovery, I get a "recovery bootloop". Is my phone broken?
Nope, this is most likeley due to a bad download.
Please download the theme again using another browser or app. For instance, ES File Explorer's build-in downloader has proven to be unreliable for the dropbox links I provide.
I like what you did there, but can I has more/other colorz?
Colors are a matter of personal preferrence. I try to keep the themes neutral, and the colors used are (mostly) in accordance with android design guidelines.
For other colors, you'll have to modify the theme yourself. I will gladly provide the source file for the images to everyone interested.
Will you make a dark/black Play theme?
No, because I don't want to maintain more versions of the theme. But everybody is welcome to contribute to the thread...
Will you help me to port my favourite other theme to device XY?
No. But this guide provides insight on how you can do it.
RECOVERY REPACK FAQ
What version of TWRP is the repack?
Always the latest available for a certain device.
As I don't keep track of all TWRP threads, please remind me if there was an update for your device.
I'd like a repack for *devicename*, how do I make one?
Download and unpack Android Image Kitchen.
Unpack the zip.
Download the zip containing the custom curtains (splash images).
Get the recovery image you want to modify from the TWRP download site.
Copy the recovery image to the Image Kitchen folder.
In windows explorer, drag & drop the recovery image on the "unpackimg.bat".
Unpacking will create two new folders (ramdisk and split_image).
Rename the splash of your choice to "curtain.jpg" and drop it into /ramdisk/res/images.
Hit "repackimg.bat".
This will create a "image-new.img", which you can then flash away using your preferred method.
My preferred method for installing the recovery is GooManager, so how do I flash this .img thing?

Actually, if you weren't in recovery, you don't need to reload either.
Only if you delete the ui.zip, while in recovery, then reload theme is required.

I like what you did there, but can I has more/other colorz?
Colors are a matter of personal preferrence. I try to keep the themes neutral, and the colors used are (mostly) in accordance with android design guidelines.
For other colors, you'll have to modify the theme yourself. I will gladly provide the source file for the images to everyone interested.
Will you make a dark/black Play theme?
No, because I don't want to maintain more versions of the theme. But everybody is welcome to contribute to the thread...
Will you make the Play theme MultiROM compatible?
No, simply because I can't. The XMLs of both themes already differ to much to merge them.
Will you help me to port my favourite other theme to device XY?
No. But this guide provides insight on how you can do it.
RECOVERY REPACK FAQ
What version of TWRP is the repack?
Always the latest available for a certain device.
As I don't keep track of all TWRP threads, please remind me if there was an update for your device.
I'd like a repack for *devicename*, how do I make one?
Download and unpack Android Image Kitchen.
Unpack the zip.
Download the zip containing the custom curtains (splash images).
Get the recovery image you want to modify from the TWRP download site.
Copy the recovery image to the Image Kitchen folder.
In windows explorer, drag & drop the recovery image on the "unpackimg.bat".
Unpacking will create two new folders (ramdisk and split_image).
Rename the splash of your choice to "curtain.jpg" and drop it into /ramdisk/res/images.
Hit "repackimg.bat".
This will create a "image-new.img", which you can then flash away using your preferred method.
My preferred method for installing the recovery is GooManager, so how do I flash this .img thing?
Use the theme. It now supports direct image flashing from the install page.
Via Fastboot. Most useful to know how to (especially in case things go sideways).
Via app. For a variety of devices, Flashify has proven to be a good app for flashing recovery images. It's under (very) active development and I highly recommend to give it a try.
Alternative apps (can be device specific): SGS4 Flasher, ... (please help me to populate this part)

The Note 2 has a 720 x 1280 screen, so the One X version might work. Check the OP for the link and report if it's working, would be nice to know...

These new themes are outstanding, very professional looking. For a few seconds I thought you may have forgotten the settings menu, then I saw the settings icon in the upper right corner, what a great touch.
I would love to see TeamWin use this as their standard ui, instead of the existing rather ugly one. Great job on this and thank you for sharing it.

Pretty cool theme...
But I already have Holo theme...

N7/TWRP 2.6/Theme trouble
Renamed zip to ui.zip (no caps). Pasted it into the TWRP theme folder. (no caps in theme).
Reboot to recovery and the blue/black team win splash screen comes up. It "blinks" out
And goes back to the splash screen. Blinks out to black briefly and shows the splash screen
Again. Keeps doing this, but will never actually go into recovery. I reboot and delete the zip
And it will go into recovery. No matter which one of the theme zips I try it will not load. Any help
Would be appreciated.

Check the zips size. It should be above 1MB. I had same symptoms because of bad download with ES Explorer downloader

You were right. I used es downloader on all 3 themes. 26.79kb on all of them.
This time i used the browser to download the files. Size was correct and TWRP
Is now themed. Thank you for the help. Thanks for not telling me "Google is your
Friend" and instead gave me the answer to my problem. Very much appreciated.

Black won't save battery as the pixels are still lit up. But on an AMOLED screen it'll save battery as individual pixels can be turned off.

By off the screen you mean out to the right? This might happen if u use AM/PM. Theme is designed for 24h clock.
But u can easily change the x alignment value in variables section of the ui.xml in the zip. The correct values for AM are commented next to the variable itself.

Now thats kind of a task. The "screenshots" are made with Inkscape which I use to create the png sources. So depending on what pages you are interested in, the answer is "maybe".
Expect to find the tabbed Interface for install, wipe, backup, restore and mount pages. Also the sort options for the filelist uses tabs as toggles.
Downloading and testing would be much quicker for the both of us.

This is the best theme I've seen yet! I added it to the TWRP theme collection thread with credits to you and links back to this thread. Hope you don't mind.
EDIT: I found one issue (at least with the "Light" version). In recovery, when you go into Settings/Screen it says "Brightness" but there is nothing there to adjust the brightness higher or lower.
Also, if you could make this theme for the new Nexus 7 (1280x800) I know there are many of us who would be very grateful.

Right, the brightness. I found that even with the stock themed 2600 recovery the N4 lacks the brightness slider. So my question is if you ever had this option?
In any case I will change the text element and make it conditional, it then only appears if the option to adjust brightness is available on the device (like the slider). Thanks for pointing that out.

Great theme, tried the dark one and in the "set backup name" screen the keyboard and the whole page is off to the right. When tapping on the letters sometimes it types the wrong one.

Can you please confirm the issue exists in black and light as well?
I just compared the xml files and they are all the same, apart from some color values.
Does the position of the blue input text line and the cursor change when you change between "Set Name" and "Encryption"?
Does the keyboard work ok on encrytion page?

Just tested, same thing happens in all three files.
The position of the blue input text is to the left of the keyboard button. It does the same in both screens "Set Name" and "Encryption".
The keyboard otherwise works as usual.

O boy, someone must have put the keyboard images from the N7 in the N4 theme folder. Stupid mistake, but all is good now. Thank you for reporting.

Already at it, though I'm aiming at new Nexus 7. But as a by-product devices with 1080px screen width will get their holofication as well...

The splash screen is baked into the recovery itself, so there's no easy way to replace it. Might try repacking the recovery image later.

No files at all in your recoveries/flo folder????
EDIT: Nevermind... The links are working again.

I flashed the light theme with light curtain. The curtain updated but the recovery is still the stock look. Did I do something wrong?

Nope, all good. The repacked recoveries do not contain the theme itself, but only the curtain.

All themes updated for TWRP 2.7.0.0.:
Added vibration settings page (time zone setting moved to actionbar) - ALL

HOW TO USE AROMA FM:
Download this flashable zip.
Flash the zip in recovery.
It will copy the flashable Aroma FM package to \TWRP\aromafm.
Go to "settings" and tick the option to use Aroma FM.

Complete rework of Holofied Black, Dark and Light:
NOTE: The size of the XMLs for these themes has quadrupled, thus the themes need longer to load when entering the recovery.

THEME FAQ
What's the difference between the dark and the dark_minimal theme?
The minimal themes only have one highlight color (dark holo blue).
The main advantage of the minimal themes is their reduced boot time compared to the multicolor versions.
They're ment to be used as base for porting or creating other single color versions.
Can I use this theme on my *devicename*?
Most likely yes. The themes can be used on any device with the screen resolution the filename of the theme suggests.
For example, the "1080_*variant*.zip" can be used on any FullHD device.
When I reboot to recovery, the theme isn't applied. Any ideas?
This is most likeley due to wrong naming of the theme folder or the ui.zip.
Make sure the folder is named "theme", without capital letters.
Also check if you accidentally renamed the downloaded zip to "ui.zip.zip" (common pitfall when renaming the zip in windows explorer).
When I reboot to recovery, I get a "recovery bootloop". Is my phone broken?
Nope, this is most likeley due to a bad download.
Please download the theme again using another browser or app. For instance, ES File Explorer's build-in downloader has proven to be unreliable for the dropbox links I provide.
I like what you did there, but can I has more/other colorz?
Colors are a matter of personal preferrence. I try to keep the themes neutral, and the colors used are (mostly) in accordance with android design guidelines.
For other colors, you'll have to modify the theme yourself. I will gladly provide the source file for the images to everyone interested.
Will you make a dark/black Play theme?
No, because I don't want to maintain more versions of the theme. But everybody is welcome to contribute to the thread...
Will you help me to port my favourite other theme to device XY?
No. But this guide provides insight on how you can do it.
RECOVERY REPACK FAQ
What version of TWRP is the repack?
Always the latest available for a certain device.
As I don't keep track of all TWRP threads, please remind me if there was an update for your device.
I'd like a repack for *devicename*, how do I make one?
Download and unpack Android Image Kitchen.
Unpack the zip.
Download the zip containing the custom curtains (splash images).
Get the recovery image you want to modify from the TWRP download site.
Copy the recovery image to the Image Kitchen folder.
In windows explorer, drag & drop the recovery image on the "unpackimg.bat".
Unpacking will create two new folders (ramdisk and split_image).
Rename the splash of your choice to "curtain.jpg" and drop it into /ramdisk/res/images.
Hit "repackimg.bat".
This will create a "image-new.img", which you can then flash away using your preferred method.
My preferred method for installing the recovery is GooManager, so how do I flash this .img thing?
Use the theme. It now supports direct image flashing from the install page.
Via Fastboot. Most useful to know how to (especially in case things go sideways).
Via app. For a variety of devices, Flashify has proven to be a good app for flashing recovery images. It's under (very) active development and I highly recommend to give it a try.
Alternative apps (can be device specific): SGS4 Flasher, ... (please help me to populate this part)
AROMA FM
Download this flashable zip.
Flash the zip in recovery.
It will copy the flashable Aroma FM package to \TWRP\aromafm.
Go to "settings" and tick the option to use Aroma FM.

I use 2.6.0.1 and the Theme not work. I have make the folder and copy the zip in this but Theme is stock.

Please make sure you follow instructions to the letter.
The folder name must not contain capital letters. Have you renamed the zip to ui.zip?
Please double check and report.

Ok working fine. I have renamed from Ui to ui.

have tested light and have had no problems - TWRP 2.6.0.1

Awesome! This theme is gorgeous on this phone. Spent some time looking for TWRP themes for the HTC One and apparently didn't go far enough through the theme pages in our forums as I ended up finding it through a Google search on the Galaxy i9000 forums which led me to the GS4 forums and eventually to the HTC One link.
