FLash a kernel with offline charging. Leave the phone still, plugged in to the wall outlet for a couple of hours, after that unplug it and use Flashtool for a kernel flashing in fastboot or maybe another ROM, in flashmode. Tutorials on how to do that you can find by searching in XDA.

i cant connect my phone in fastboot or flashmode

[HELP] bricked XPERIA S by silly mistake

Hello friends,
I am new (and dumb too) to XDA and all the root and all these things.
I just rooted and unlocked bootloader of my Xperia S.
and flashed the Jelly bean AOSP ROM as in following thread.
[ROM]JB AOSP 4.2.1 alpha 2
I was playing in recovery mode and I don't which option I choose but I think something like "Wipe Partitions" or "Format partitions"
After that I rebooted phone but it just went dead.
I think the battery was low (~15%) when I messed up.
Now it's not responding to anything, no boot, no recovery mode, no fastboot, no flash mode,(vol + or vol - with power) :crying:
Only thing was that I put it on wall charger at 2:00 am (no LED), at morning 10::am RED LED was strong on, but still no fastboot and flash mod e while connecting to pc :crying:
Still I kept on charging whole day ( I saw some threads regarding XPERIA S UNBRICK )
now after ~8hours, connected to pc but still detection.
Also I want to mention that When LED was on while charging and the I connected to pc , IF LED went ON , then phone not detected by computer.
and after sometime the LED went off , then Device says it connected as in screen shot below, but no fastboot or flashmode.
Please help me. Sorry for bad representation.
Hi, the i'm not a phone wizz but it happen't to me a few days ago as well. Tried everything almost bought a new phone because i thought it was bricked....
Now it's alive and kickin'.
For me worked:
Mine randomly started up till the battery was empty, 2-3min and that was enough.
Download the Emma flashtool, it's from Sony itself.
Install the flashtool and start it..let it settle.
With the red light on when it starts try to get it in plug in the usb in the phone (it's already connected in the pc) while holding the volume button down, and when you're lucky the flashtool will recognize the phone and will collect the correct software/ROM/kernel. Just hit the install/repair button and that worked for me, it installed the correct software and it was alive again...
Wish you all the luck.

Thank you for your reply.
I did it but when connected phone with vol - , red LED was strong on , but device didn't detected by OS, nor Emma, nor with flashtool.
but after 1 minute the LED went off and at the same moment device detected in PC OS (as sound of new hardware detected sound of windows heard) and flashtool log was-
09/042/2013 22:42:12 - INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
09/042/2013 22:42:12 - INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
no response from Emma. Also no flashboot or fastboot :crying:
Have installed the fastboot drivers for your phone?
If you connect your phone with vol- or vol+ you shouldn't get a red light, it should be blue or green.
Try charge phone for a while then download a jellybean kernel (e.g. *.sin file), then adb push the kernel to the phone. Boot into recovery and refresh rom.
This will require adb and drivers both available in the flashpoint folder.

OK I will try. But the phone RED LED going on as a charging indicator only.
(Generally when phone shuts down at 0% battery and if we boot it up without charging, it turns on and turn off , after i fyou connect the charger, the instance the RED LED goes on but screen remains blank, After sometime the screen shows charging battery )
the same case is happening with me.
Should I remove battery, will it void its warranty?

So u can charge ur phone? It sounds like all u need to do is reinstall a kernel then a rom. No need to remove battery. If you connect urban phone to a usb, when off, and hold a volume key you should not get a red led. You get a red led when u don't have flashmode and/or fastboot.

Have you tried a 'hard' reset of the phone/power.
Phone may be in a loop with power still on or some other state.
Hold the power button -and- volume up button for a good 10 seconds.
You may feel the phone vibrate once then a few seconds later it vibrates three times in rapid succession.
This should indicate the phone is powered down.
If powered down, it may then be able to recharge itself and if you're lucky show a battery charging icon.
When recharged, I'd use SEUS to reload the stock firmware.
Good luck.

Its getting red LED because battery is not charging I think.
And can You explain the process written or a link to tutorial .
One more question
Will my warranty be void if I remove my Battery?

Step 1 - Download a kernel.
Download a kernel like nova (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=35055975). this will Download a zip file, open the file and extract the file kernel.elf. note nova is a jellybean kernel.
step 2 - Push the kernel file to the phone

[Xperia S][INFO][REF] All that u need to know before u begin
Step 3 - boot the phone into recovery and install a Rom zip file then reboot.
Step 4 - hit thanks.
Not sure about removing the battery. I have never need to do it.I guess it would be ok if you don't damage anything or break any security seals. Btw u know when u charge your phone when the battery is below 90% it displays a red light hey.

Make sure your phone is absolutely off
Put it to a cool place like refrigerator for a couple of hours
then flash a kernel so fast by fastboot.exe
If works you can full charge your device and you are lucky.

ION doesnt exiting from flashboot mode help

hello friends, i am flashing a new .ftf firmware into my ion but while flashing i got some error and then my cell automatically boots and it goes into bootloop.
i tried to do soft reset (volume up+power ) while cell is connected to pc via usb and it suddenly goes into FASTBOOT mode (blue led)
now it doesnt exiting from it. It constatly showing me blue light from past 3 hrs.
What should i do guys?
in flashtool connecting in flashboot mode it showing me DEVICE NOT FOUND
pls help me asap
pls somebody help me out
Sorry for my poor English, hope this will help:
First try another USB port on your PC, maybe you have some driver-related problems.
If it doesn't work, try another PC so Windows will try to detect the driver itself, wait till the installation finished (everything will be checked as green V mark, none of them is red).
thanks honey, but my problem is my device is soft bricked and it stucks in fastboot mode since last 5 hrs what should i do?
should i wait till all battery gets empty?
or should i kept it for charge?
i am on locked bootloader
Yes, but first try to let Windows detect your phone. If it's detected then you only need re-flashing stock ROM. If you're in FLASHMODE, you need your PC detects your phone.
You said the led is blue, so I don't think it's flashmode... for flashmode, the led is green, solid, no blinking.
And there is a topic for recovering from soft-brick. Have you checked it yet? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1849170
I don't see any BIG problem with your phone.
You're failed to flash the .ftf, so you'll get bootloop.
If you don't know what to do, the easiest way is bringing it to SONY CENTER
i refered that thread, but my problem is different, it unable to do soft n hard reset,
my laptop doesnt recognise the cell, i am unable to go into flashmode, my cell is stuck on blue led(fastboot mode)
what should i do in this case?
Ah ha, it's fastboot, but in the OP you said FLASHBOOT so I thought it was FLASH MODE... :-s
Wait for the battery drained. Then re-plug the charger, if you see the red led, then it's OK. If it's still blinking, wait more.
Now run Flashtool, choose Flash Mode like normal but you don't need to press the volume down or whatever, just plug the phone there for charging. When the phone get about 10% of battery it'll auto flash (~10-15mins).
After successful do charge your phone till full
thank you so much my friend...
when i connect my cell to wall charger it blink purple light.
so i decided to drain the battery full..
how much time it will take to drain?
it draining battery from past 5.30 hrs.
at that time my battery % was 36%
guys now my cell showing red led constant.
but it doesnt go into flashmode what to do?
You left ur phone completely drained out, then plug in the charger it' solid red, no blinking right? If so, unplug the charger, start flashboot, choose flash mode, choose ftf file, and then it ask you must boot ur phone into flashmode right? Plug ur phone and wait for it to be charged, after 10-15mins it will auto flash.u dont need to manual boot into flashmode because it's impossible
Sent from my LT28h using Tapatalk 2
when i connct to pc only red light blinks not green one.
should i do remain my cell in that condition?
As I said above, just leave it for about 10-15mins. The phone will auto turn on and auto flash Rom for you. And leave your flashboot as it is till your phone os flashed

ok i will try this tonight
yesss.... finally recovered my cell

as long as you cant do the power+vol up till it vibrates 3 times, u cant connect to flashtool/fastboot.
imo, what u can do now: charge the phone for some hours then do the power+vol up again. if it still wont vibrates, leave it for couple of days, hoping the battery will drain, then charge it, do the same process. still wont vibrates (or if u want faster way), bring it to sony service center.

Ok, first let the phone plugged into the wall outlet, not through usb. Let it charge at least 48 hours. After that, flash again the ROM. You should have enough battery for the flashing to go through without any problems.
P.S. While the phone is charging do not press any buttons. Do not try to power it on, just let it be.

very helpful links. thank you!
I was able to flash my device. Flashing finished succeed but phone still won't to turn on :/
edit:
device had too low energy to turn on. now everything is ok. this is quote which helped me:
~ If you get bootloops, try to flash between loops. As soon as you notice loop, hold volume down and plug the phone into PC with FlashTool ready. Once the loop starts you have very little time to flash, before the loops drain the battery. If you can not flash, the battery will have to die and phone reset. Then start over with red led.

No, keep it on the wall charger overnight if you cant access fastboot or recovery and then report back.
I think I have the same problem here. I already searched everywhere and I'm loosing my hopes. I'm trying to revive a Xperia Ion and this is what I get:
When I plug the phone in the wall charger the red led turns on for some minutes and then turns off, no green leds, my phone was in charger for months, changed charger and cable.
The same happens when I plug on PC, when the led turns off it is detected as "Somc flash device" in windows device manager and this shows in flashtool:
INFO - Device connected with USB debugging off
INFO - For 2011 devices line, be sure you are not in MTP mode
Nothing changes if I plug in pc with volume + or - pressed, it don't goes into fastboot or flashmode.
I hope you could help me. Thanks
