[APP] Auto Brightness - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

Since Xperia Ion, S, SL and other devices in this category have a hardware for ambient sensor, but Sony did't gave the auto brightness option in the display settings. Here is a small app which I recently found for enabling auto brightness in your phones. Download from attachments.
Download it from here and enjoy ! :good:

Just tried it an it works! Thanks!

Change Smoothing time to 3000ms under sensitivity in settings, that would help.

SONY XPERIA S has auto brightness enabled, and it's always ON.
Ceck it : Go out in bright light, and then put your finger on the sensor. You'll see the difference.
TIP : Settings/Display/Brightness : Must be set over 60 % for the auto brightness to work, if you set your brightness under 50 % it will not work. Enjoy auto brightness in SONY XPERIA S without an app to do the job.

didnt work for me. i have xperia SL. trinity rom 2.9 and doomkernel >.<

[Q] customized light sensor

Is there any application or script available for customizing light sensor. So that we can set display light, key pad and button light intensity.
For example: for light 0 to 100 lux , display 40 percent. For light 101 to 200 lux display 60 percent. Etc etc

Cyanogenmod has these settings, you can set any values. Also Runnymede port to DZ has RCMix3D settings, there you can just chose 3 modes (default, lower, lowest).

None that I have found... CM7 has a great built in editor in cm settings. It can even reduce flicker, how sensitive it is (light sensor), and soft key lights. Takes some testing but it works great!
Don't forget the thanks button for the guy who helped you! I wouldn't mind one either

MIUI is a great ROM. Ofcourse it could be great if we can control display light settings
My app Lux does what you want (for the display, at least). The next update will let you manually enter lux/brightness value pairs. Currently it reads in lux values and lets you 'link' them to brightness values.

Yeah I'm using Lux, it does what OP wants quite well.
EDIT: Oh you're the developer, thanks for writing the app!

Thanks for the application.. I just bought it. it is working for me ofcourse atleast for brightness. It would be great after having buttons and key pad customization.
I am exploring the application and let you know in case of any suggestion.
(Thanks button hit already)

Thank you.. Now I hope some battery life improvement as well. If Cyb3rGlitch is a developer of that application then he/she tried to fill a gap in android system, which I would have tried if I were a developer ;-). He did a good job anyways..

The problem with changing button brightness is that most phones don't honour the change. I'm going to hold off adding the feature until I get my hands on an official Google phone like the Nexus Prime.

Hmm ic
Well as far as desire z is concern i have tested customization feature of MIUI and cyanogenmod. Those worked well for button as well. The thing i noticed in these was that at the lower level of light i could not configure light intensity. i.e. at very dark level and at the normal room light level the output for display was same. But was trying to get almost 0 % for totaly dark room and atleast 20% display for nominal room light condition.
I am also searching for these feature in your application... I hope i will explore as much as possible.
That could be a limitation of the physical light sensor.

There is a way to disable auto brightness, look in my MIUI thread.
Haha I have the exact same problem, flashed it today and noticed it.
Thought It should be less bright than stock, but that's not?
you can download a program from Market call Hatcyl Auto Brightness that fixed my brightness problem.
Thanks for the app suggestion! This was driving me crazy as well.

[Q] Light sensor

Do xperia arc and arc S, have light sensor? If they do, why isn't there any option "auto brightnes" in Display settings? Is there any mod to enable "auto brightness"?
Sorry if any similar theme already exists, but I can't find search button (no kiding, dead serious)

It has a light sensor and its auto-brightness works very well. But the firmware does not provide its control option.
If you use a power widget style app (Extended Controls for example) you can choose auto brightness.
I notice my screen changing brightness depending on situation (and if I cover the sensor with my thumb).
You can changes the auto-brightness settings with different apps if you have root. I personally like the stock setting.
Greetz
Looks like XDA people have already made an app for this exact purpose!
(You need root)
