I can no longer hold home to get to the task manager. Holding down home does nothing now and I can't figure out why or what I could have done to cause this other than this mod which was the last thing I did to my phone. Restarting doesn't fix it. Anyone know how I can restore this function without reflashing?

Set a gesture to open it. I double tap screen to open it. I have nova launcher prime instead of touch wiz. I set the home button to also go to the task manager.

I want to know if it is possible to make a shorcut to the homescreen that brings up the pop up menu that opens when you hold the Home key.

What use would it have? Basically all it would do would be taking up space and not offering any real gain since it is only a long press of the home key away...

I'm making my homescreen look kinda like honeycomb. I got the dock to look like this
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",

"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
And i want the requested shorcut to put on the "recent apps" part of the honeycomb dock

While I am yet to see a shortcut for the default "recent apps" both of these apps come to mind (not to mention are free if you want to try them and see if they are comparable for your needs)

While I thank you for the links, I don't see myself using either. I tried both, didn't really like them. Just wish I could mke that. stupid pop up an icon

I'm not sure at what point today this stopped working but whenever I hit the power button to turn my screen off now the screen just goes off. No more fancy tube TV effect.
Anyone know how I could go about re-enabling it?
I'm rooted running the most recent CM9 Kang rom. Let me know if you need anymore info.
Everything else is working fine.
Turning off window animations disables it.

Any chance you disabled it in the settings? I don't use CM9 but I know CM did have a feature with removal of that animation.
I thought I may have disabled it earlier so I looked all over for an option to enable and cannot find one.

Like many of you, I love my S3. One thing I HATE is the multitasking implementation. Holding the home button for 2 seconds is tedious and slows down the experience of a blazing fast phone
I have managed to overcome the problem and thought I'd share it in case this issue was frustrating others too. Essentially, it allows you to tap the bottom right hand corner of the screen to bring the multitasking bar up. This can easily be done with one hand, and I find makes using the phone a lot faster
Steps:
- Download GMD GestureControl (there is also a free version, although I am not sure if this will 100% work on that)
- Swipe right to 'custom gestures'
- Set up like this

My wife's regular issue, stock, non-rooted phone, not mine, which I haven't updated to 5.0. When you click on the Chrome button you get this:

The number after "document" down there keeps going up every time you close and re-open. It's 90-something now. If you click on the home button or a new tab, you get a normal functioning page. But when you open up a new session you get this confounded thing. How the heck do you fix this?

Try uninstalling all updates, wiping data/cache and reinstalling chrome updates from play store

Those are the stock lollipop soft keys
Hello.
This is my first time using a smartphone, and I'm new to IT as well, so forgive me for being dumb.
I recently got a Nokia G20 (Model number: TA-1336). It has Android 12.
Whenever I "shake" the phone, or just move it a little, the screen turns on. I believe it has something to do with motion sensing, but I couldn't find anything in the settings to turn this feature off.
Please help me.
On another note, is it possible to get rid of the google search bar at the bottom of the home screen? Without disabling the Google app, if possible.
Thanks very much in advance.
If this has been asked before, I'm very sorry for causing trouble.
Thank you very much WilliamMike, your advice fixed the first one!
The search bar, however, I still can't remove. The internet says to either install some NovaLauncher (which I'd prefer not to) or disable the Google app (this could break some features I assume).
Sorry for taking up your time, I appreciate your help!

Any idea where to go from here?
