Navbar Project - Some Help Needed! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Whattup, fellow Phablet Users?
I have an idea I'd like to work on, concerning the Navbar in Touchwiz ROMs. If anyone has an insight they can lend, it's highly appreciated!
To see any of the things I'm mentioning here:
- Download any Root Explorer
- Navigate to System>Build.prop
- add 'qemu.hw.mainkeys=0' to the bottom of the Build.prop
- Reboot device!
- To remove the Navbar, just erase 'qemu.hw.mainkeys=0' from the Build.prop and reboot again
First off - Can buttons in the Dialer be resized? To be specific, when the Navbar is activated in a Touchwiz ROM, instead of flushing together--as in an AOSP ROM--the buttons in the Dialer are raised (also, the actionbar is revealed).
- For instance, when checking a voicemail, you'll see how the buttons overshoot the numeric keys. I'd like to shrink (flatten) the buttons a bit, so that when the Dialer is opened--and the navbar is active, the buttons will flush below the numeric keys.
Secondly, remaining on the Dialer/Contacts, the actionbar.
- It is only in the Call Logs that the actionbar poses a slight problem; it covers the 1st entry in the log. Now, is there a way to get the Call Log to sit nicely under the actionbar, just like shown in the Contacts? That's what I'm aiming for there.
Thirdly, the Camera. The Navbar covers part of the Camera buttons when active. Is there a way to raise the Camera UI to flush better with the Navbar (as in AOSP ROMs), or completely remove the Navbar when the Camera is active? For instance, at the Lockscreen, the Navbar is absent, even when activated.
These are my ideas! Again, if anyone has any insight on this, PLEASE SHARE!
Thanks, again!

Softkey modding how to

Hi guys,
I was wondering if anyone could point me to somewhere that tells me how to mod my softkey navigation keys myself. Almost all the flashable or custom files have the layout as stock but with the menu keys enabled - I want it so that the back and recents buttons are on opposite sides (back is used more often, so why not have it on a side easier to reach with your thumb?) and the menu buttons enabled but hidden.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

[REQ] Capacitive Button Toggle

So I've searched and found ways to disable my capacitive buttons, both the use and the lights but I haven't found any mod that will toggle their use on-off on the go. I just feel that with so many ROMS including some type of pie or gesture control I don't always need the buttons. Especially when one of my young kids is playing games on my phone and accidentally bumps the buttons. I'd love a mod that toggles the buttons almost like a lock, that can be disabled when I do need the buttons. I know I can edit the Genric.kl file and then reboot each time, but it would be really cool if someone could make a simple toggle. What do you guys think?
Sent from my... wait- I don't know what device or ROM I'm running anymore!
i can be wrong but in order to implement that type of toggle it would be necessary to reboot after the toggle so the changes can take effect. Whenever I am on an AOSP-Based rom I have a copy of my keylayout folder that I just copy of to disable the HW buttons instead of doing the changes manually.

[Root][App] GMD HideSoftKeys

I'm developing app that allows to hide soft keys without modifying the system and without reboot. In only hides soft keys and leaves notification bar intact. After hiding soft keys I replace them similar auto hiding bar with Back, Home, Recent Apps and Menu buttons.
It does NOT modify system files. If something unplanned happens, just reboot your device and it will restore your stock navigation bar.
Unique Features:
* Hide soft keys on any rooted device (Phone UI only).
* Auto hiding navigation bar replacement - swipe trigger upwards to show it.
Differences to other status bar hiding apps:
* Does not remove notification bar
* Does not modify system
* No need to reboot
* Stock Notification panel and settings panels are fully working
* Stock recent apps list is fully working
* No problems with receiving phone calls

I'm collecting new ideas for future updates
It works on the GNEX. Lol I've been using it for a week or more.

Thanks, updated supported device list :fingers-crossed:. Do buttons look ok?
Hi there...
I just try your app and have few comments.
- Softkey could we biger, just like original. It is not necessarily to be smaller because - they can be hidden
- Vibrate on key press is missing thing for me
- After few turning on and off my phone reboot (Gnex, stock 4.2.2., I9250XXLJ1, JDW39)
I am not developer but I was always askin why someone don't make hiden navigation bar (buttons) and activate it just like we swipe our notification bar. Just like that and but very smooth. Al that PIE's and invisible areas was too laggy and don't enough responsive to me. You are very close to my idea and if this will work I think your app have potencial.
Good luck
Hello guys, i have my own implementation of this, I made it long time ago, but haven't released to public until today
Check it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=41195717
Grate app bro. Confirm that work on GSM GNexus with stock 4.2.2 rom.
Send from my awesome-superb-f.... ng incredible Galaxy Nexus
0.93:
- Added Google Now button when Home is hovered. Added animation.
- Added option to hide QuickNav bar when empty space on bar is pressed.
- Added option to keep/hide QuickNav bar when pressed anywhere else on scren.
- Added option to delay bar hide after pressing soft button. Pressing new button resets delay.
Donator here: Could it be possible to be able to disable the glow and maybe to add another section where you can be able to change the nav bar icons from a respository of sorts? Thanks! Keep up the good work!

Try newest development version. I added theming funtionality.
hello, developer. Pro buyer here. Your app is very nice indeed and works great. I'm using it on my gnex with rooted stock rom. I just have the following observations:
1. It seems the app makes scrolling of the recent apps stuttery.
2. May I request for an option to use the stock 3-dot menu icon, instead of the 3-bar menu icon? The 3-dot icon blends better with the stock icons, in my opinion.
3. The menu icon randomly appears. (I have disabled it.)
Thanks!

[Q] Change location of Navigation Bar (Softbuttons) in Landscape mode?

I just bought the Nexus 7 2013, and coming from the original Galaxy Tab (2010) the absence of hardware buttons drives me crazy because of the Navigation Bar (I hope this is the right term for it) which I dont like.
Reasons:
- I press the buttons accidentally when using the keyboard
- It is a waste of vertical screen space when in landscape mode
So is there any way to put the navbar to the right in landscape mode (like on most phones)? Like some magic build.prop hack?
I am currently on cm11 official nightlies, but changing roms or patching the source myself if necessary is an option too.
Any hints?

Its not an ideal solution, bit you can use phab7 -
http://forum.xda-developers.com/xposed/modules/mod-phab7-v0-99-reboot-ui-switcher-t2545080
Chose phone ui, and it will put them on the right in landscape. I say its not ideal because it spread's the buttons out and causes the Google now ring to be off center. Unfortunately it doesn't support tablet ui (apparently google took it out in 4.4+), but phone ui, and split menus work on KitKat.
I personality use pie controls from gravity box, and force immersive on any apps I want fullscreen with Xutilites -
http://repo.xposed.info/module/com.nagopy.android.xposed.utilities
So all my games/chrome/play magazines/etc. automatically go immersive, I hated having to switch it on and off all the time, so this worked for me. I also use gravity box to make the nav bar smaller, so when it is there it takes up less room. The nav bar will still pop up with the keyboard if you go this rout tho. You could disable it completely with gravity box, but you would have to really like pie controls for that lol. Gravity box -

These are all Xposed framework mods BTW, I am assuming you'd be comfortable with this since your running a custom ROM. I hate the lost pixels as well. Best of luck reclaiming the rest your screen
Thanks for the detailed reply :good:
I am very satisfied with the results with phab7.
Adding a 4th icon to the navigation bar was necessary to have them look centered again.
I am completely gapps free - so the google now problem does not apply to me

Features i'd like to have on my OnePlus5T

As the title says, there are some things i miss from my old nexus 6:
-[statusbar]click on clock and open clock
-[statusbar]click on date and open calendar
-[statusbar]doube tap to lock the screen
-[navbar] settings where to change color (static custom color, color from app[like statusbar])
-[navbar] settings to add text cursor
-[navbar] settings to hide navbar after X seconds or permanently or to swipe up to get the navbar
-[navbar] settings to change spacing on navbar elements or to order them
-[navbar] long press back button to kill app
-[navbar] custom apps on fast double click/long press on navbar icons
-[volume buttons] settings to move text cursor with volume up/down or inverse
-[lockscreen] change apps shortcuts
-[homescreen] swipe to left/right for google now or some other custom app
-[ambient-display] change how notifications are shown (like stock pixel/nexus)
can someone tell me if there are apps (magisk compatible) that can add this features?
PS: tell me also if there are some other cool feature that we can get on OnePlus5T
Give the LineageOS team time. They'll come up with firmware that'll incorporate all of that. And speaking as a user of the original G1, I miss hardware keyboards.
A proper working notification slider.
