Hello all, I have a quick question I was wondering if someone had the answer to. I have tried searching but could not find what I was looking for. Basically I have a friend that has the Verizon variant of the Note 2, and another friend that wants a Note 2. I am trying to help them both out if possible. Now my one friend uses Sprint as his provider, and wants me to see if there is a way to flash the Verizon phone for use on Sprint with his plan so he does not have to renew his contract. I know there are stock ROM images of the each Note 2 out there. Is it possible to just flash the Sprint stock firmware, modem, etc to the phone and have it work? If not, is there another way? And finally, if it is possible, would all of the features work? Thanks so much for your help!
He can but will more than likely not have access to 4g lte on the network

do you know what can be this consequences?
I plan to use this phone on Mexico and a ROM @ sammobile has been release for I317M, with MExico Carrier.
Dont worry. It should work fine.
I do this all the time when im bored to death or when I fix phone's
And they don't want carrier specific junk apps

This might be a stupid question but do I have to do anything different when flashing roms because T-mobile is switching to LTE now? I am running a Galaxy note 2 t889v from Wind Mobile in Canada and we do not have LTE.

This does belong in Q&A...
No, the same ROMs you've been using should continue working.
As before, do not flash any modems without being ready to deal with the consequences.

Hey guys
I'm coming from the Galaxy S3 ATT forum (with bell). Just bought a Note 2 with Videotron and now I feel like I'm back to square one on XDA
For the S3, everything that had D2ATT was compatible with Bell. Can the same be said with T-Mobile and Videotron ? Like T-mobile roms and TWRP are compatible with Videotron ? Is there anything I should look out for or is it the same ball game than att/bell but with tmo/videotron ?
Thanks in advance ! can't wait to start rooting and flashing.
peace
What is the model number of it? I did a quick Google, by their website didn't say.

Okay, so me and my brother both have android smartphones, but I got a new Galaxy note 2 and I need help flashing over to it, and then helping him flash over to my old phone because his screen is messed up. If anyone out there is good at flashing phones, could you please message me and help me out? It would be greatly appreciated. :fingers-crossed:
What are u trying to flash to ?

Sounds like you want to activate a new phone and activate your old phone for him and this should be in Q&A.

We mostly do android development around here. Plus what your asking can also reach into taboo topics on this forum. You might wanna look elsewhere on a different forum for that.
Edit: Ok, i'm gonna be nice (mods don't yell at me) First of I AM NOT going to explain how, but I will tell you what you need to do. You need to look into what is called ESN swapping. You need to be aware that this subject is in a legal grey area and is not discussed very openly and not at all on this forum. My recommendation would be to find another carrier that supports using that phone without changing the ESN. They are out there, and sometimes cheaper. Good luck with whatever you do, but trying to get this phone on your carrier involves things we don't discuss here and that are possibly illegal.
Again, mods, i'm just being nice, but trying to stay within the rules.
Okay, Thanks!

I have a d2tmo but I want to switch to prepaid. What is the best GSM carrier to go with? I live in NY.
Check for Straight Talk or Simple Mobile. They're both pretty decent for prepaid services.

And "Best" is always a relative word and in this case is based on signal strength/pricing/phones available
I was on the simple mobile website and I saw that I can order a sim from them. One of the questions was what type if phone and there was an option for an unlocked GSM (which right now my phone is not) but there was an option for T-Mobile compatable. So if i choose that one does that mean I do not have to unlock my sim? I know it is easy to unlock but if I don't have to I will just get that one. Anyone have simple and know the answer?
