Adobe Flash Player - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

Does anyone know if its possible to get adobe flash player working on this device? I know its not support for android anymore but I know other devices are still able to use it.

It only works on a select few browsers, chrome not being one of them. I flashed clean rom the other day and it worked on the aosp browser. I believe there are other browsers in the play store it will also work with.

Works on Next Browser and Boat Browser. Two of my favorites.

It possible in Only Defult Browser

Works in Dolphin, I specifically have to have a browser with flash that works. I will add a caveat that flash is not 100% stable, ie sometimes going into fullscreen or coming out of fullscreen freezes/crashes. It usually works on the 2nd try though.

I have it working with Firefox, so far no issues.

ICS and browsers

So I'm tired of using like 3 different browsers for different applications. I use Firefox because its what I use on my desktop and I like the look and feel. I use chrome for the simplicity and speed sometimes, going to try switching to chrome on my desktop, I liked the bookmark sync Firefox has I think chrome has it too. But not everything works on chrome... I have to use stock browser for things like checking my sub trust account. And then there's Opera browser I like because I can make everything in desktop mode. What browser(s) do you guys use and is there just one I might be able to use instead of all 3?

I tried that but I really like the sync bookmarks that Firefox has. Possibly chrome too, haven't looked yet.

You can request a desktop version of almost any site with the stock ics browser by just hitting the menu button and checking that option.
I use Opera Mini for everything.
The Chrome browser doesn't have flash?? Is it going to get it?
I'm currently using the stock ICS browser in CM9 and it gets the job done. Previously I used Dolphin Browser HD.
Im using stock browser too its really fast and can do java/flash within less then a second even on bad days!

I used to use dolphin but was having issues. I found the stock browser can get the job done but I don't use bookmarks.

The AOSP browser works the best for me.
I think it is up to the user I used to use dolphin hd with the gb roms. But I have always been a fan of chrome so when ICS came out I switched to that and have no complaints I keep the stock browser installed just in case there is something that chrome cant handle chrome still is in beta I think. And the stock ICS browser is not that bad at all.

Unfortunately Adobe dropped support for mobile, so only the stock browser can do flash. I remember when they announced the chrome app it said something about not supporting flash. HTML5 video works great though!

Prefered Browser
I have tried them all as well. I like Boat Browser. No flaky UI issues like dolphin, fully functional layout kinda Mozilla like. flash works great with it.
It is also very customizable. Imports bookmarks and is very fast. My $0.02 worth..
I like Maxthon. Give that one a shot. It has tabs and a nice fullscreen mode.
The only issue I don't like is the tooltips that pop up, and so far there is no setting to turn them off. They have told me they are working on that though.

Honestly all I run on my pc's and Macs is chrome. But on my phone as much as I have tried to use Chrome there's always little bugs that frustrate me. In my book, dolphin hd is the BEST browser for mobile platforms.

i am gonna have to say chrome for this one...... i dunno why but for what i need it for it works just fine. The only thing that i have found that bugs me is that the 2 finger zoom thing that is in the "browser" is not supported here. Yeah, yeah i know its dumb but ya know what i use it from time to time when pinch2zoom is not as easy to use, for example when my 2 year old baby wants to sit on my lap doesnt want to move because he "wants me". ya know stuff like that.....just sayn...

Dolphin Browser HD 8.5.1 APK (Supports Flash)

Since Dolphin Browser HD recently dropped support for Flash on all Jelly Bean devices, including the Nexus 7, people have been needing the old version of Dolphin Browser HD for use with Flash. Well, here you are.
APK Download: http://dl.apktops.com/app/201206/Dolphin_Browser_HD_8.5.1.apk
If you need Flash Player, check this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1771463
Thanks
Thanks OP, very kind of you!
*Edit - Although Flash seems to work fine, when trying to go full screen it crashes out immediately. Currently Firefox does not have this problem.
This is great. I miss the pinch to zoom and the more functional address bar though. Not a poblem.
Anyway to tell the Play Store not to update it?

As of right now, no. I guess that's the price to pay to have Flash working on it though.
Maybe if everyone keeps giving it 1 star for disabling Flash, Dolphin will get the message and add it back.

Thanked
Did this yesterday and it's been smoooooth sailing so far. I'm new to Android and this made things a ton easier. :good:
I wonder if there is a way to change the apk or program to make it think your are running ICS so it still enables flash, besides editing the build.prop. From the Google Play update log it sounds like its merely disabling flash on JB while still allowing it to work on ICS/GB, so the flash supporting part of Dolphin is still there, its just being disabled.
I've been using XScope Browser.
Seems like Flash support is a little bit better on that one, but I haven't tested it extensively. Amazon Instant Video can be played full-screen, which is nice. I tried that with Dolphin, but it kept crashing.

[Q] Adobe flash double clicking

Hi everyone. I bought google nexus 7 today and manually installed flash. I know that google chrome on android 4.1 do not support flash, so i installed dolphin browser. So here is a problem, when i view flash content and tap on a screen, for example, a checkbox on a flash website it checks and unchecks. That means that browser does a double click. I tried to install any other browser. Opera doesnt show flash content, mozilla does but VERY low quality. I tried a lot of non popular browsers. Only one works fine, mozilla firefox beta. I tried to install any versions of adobe flash player. Nothing changes. So here is the question, am i the only one with double clicking flash content? How to disable double tapping? Thanks.
It's in dolphin setting. Click on setting then Web content. Then flash player always on. So you don't have to click every time it wants to load flash.
Or download the stock browser.
Happy hacking

The problem is that browser makes a double click, when i make a single click.
Good luck I've been looking for flash that worked worth the hell since I bought my nexus, had I known it was anti flash like crapple products I would not have got it.

Can't blame Google for Adobe abandoning it's users.
As for flash, doesn't Dolphin browser disable flash by default on JB devices and make it impossible to turn back on? If so you may need to download the old stock browser on the market.
I've found that doing more of a long press eliminates the double press problem.

same here, i pulled apk from my gnex n put it in /system/app of n7, set permisiions, n boom!!! works pretty good.
I use "Dolphin Browser Beta" and it works like a charm. The videos are all pixelated like in Firefox.

Best secondary browser?

in browser settings tick java script and set plugins to on demand, I get an occasional force close but can watch flash content
EDIT latest version of flash can be downloaded from the official site, just scroll down to Flash Player for Android 4.0 archives and download
Glad it worked
Works great now, thanks!

I use Boat Browser. It works pretty good for flash. Never have a problem at all with it. I've on ocassion had problem with stock AOSP suddenly closing out on me before. Firefox works not too bad too. but my favorite seems to be boat when it comes to flash integration.
I suggest the stock browser. Another I can try is Dolphin, I prefer it respect to Firefox.
