[Q] bootloop on stock bootloader - Kindle Fire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

it loops the roms logo. i think it was a bad flash so the rom won't boot.
i am on the stock bootloader and have no idea how to get into recovery. when i plug the device into the computer it doesn't recognize it. do i need a factory cable or is there a fix for this? =(

Yes, you need a factory cable to get into fastboot so you can wipe data, or access custom recovery so you can reflash your ROM.

Just remember to always factory reset before flashing your ROMs.

Yep, you need a factory cable. There seems to be a lot of that going around lately.

[Q] Can I stop this?

My Kindle is pissing me off.
I tried to unroot it by downloading the update onto my kindle fire.
I renamed it as update zip and flashed it.
IT worked until popups said force close calendar storage and force close android.process.acore.
Then it shuts itself off and reboots.
So I deleted everything in the kindle drive from my computer.

Are you able to connect to your device using adb or fastboot? if so your best course of action would be to enter fastboot if possible and then reflash twrp and fff. when you have done this go to twrp and do a factory reset/wipe data and then wipe cache and dalvik and then try update.zip again

this is a problem that i experienced..it has only one solution..u have to be very very quick..quicker than ur kindle fire is..skip kindle registration and allow to force restart..coz u dont grt enough time to do everything mentioned below..very quickly navigate to more(by tapping top right settings icon)as soon as u unlock the screen and quickly go to device and then select factory reset from device settings..u should complete whole of this process of navigation and selection before ur kindle fire shuts down..once u factory reset from your kindle fire stock ui(and not from recovery software that u install) the force close of different processes stop..
ultimately u have to factory reset IN AND FROM STOCK ROM before..it will take atlest 3 to 4 attempts to do this..8th or 9th attempt succeeded for me when i tried this for the first time..u ll lose ur sd data..make sure u make a backup..
hit thanks if this works

That means when u flash that update.zip, it would install stock bootloader and recovery softwares in places of fff and TWRP..this will be the case if anyone tries to flash latest stock rom without wiping data in TWRP..what i meant was u will not have twrp installed after flashing that update.zip so go to settings by tapping icon on right top corner and goto more>>device>>reset to factory default..
u should also note that u should be so quick that u have to give it some time after u start factory reset..so that kindle fire finishes deregistering itself and doing other stuff before those 2 or 3 processes force restart kindle fire..

HELP! Cyanogenmod Broke My Kindle Fire!

Hello all,
Right now I am getting very pissed at my kindle. I rooted it with KFU and installed TWRP and then flashed it to twa_priv's CM10.1/SGT7 ROM. After flashing it and gApps it got stuck on the cyanogen boot screen/animation. I tried to reboot it but it doesn't even show the option to go into TWRP anymore. It shows the orange Kindle Fire logo then goes straight to cyanogen and the logo just keeps spinning. I am getting ADB status when I connect it to KFU but I can not do anything with it or put it into Fastboot. Any help would be greatly appreciated at this point!

You shouldn't be mad at the Kindle, it didn't do anything wrong.
On the other hand, you probably failed to wipe system and factory reset before flashing the ROM (installation instructions are in twa_priv's SGT7 thread btw). Unfortunately, short of opening the case and list of other things that are outside the scope of this conversation, you're going to need a factory cable to get into fastboot.

I have the wall charger if that's what you mean by factory cable. Any more instructions you can give me so I can get back into TWRP?
If you're getting adb and the Kfu works why cant you just change to fadtboot from there?or re install root from here, adb should be able to give command line to access twrp

Personally I would say go with Skorpn's. They are made in small batches with great quality, fairly inexpensive, fast shipping, and everyone who gets theirs from him seem quite pleased with it overall. He's got a pretty good reputation on XDA so you should probably look into it, if not for that reason alone.

[Q] Kindle Fire continuous reboot after flash

The Kindle was running a modified Android Jelly Bean ROM (that I think I found somewhere on this site) - it was essentially stock 4.2.something built for the Fire. It was having charging issues, so in an attempt to fix it I opened TWRP and flashed it back to the stock OS (after making a backup, fortunately). It now reboots every 10 seconds or so. FFF has disappeared.
I've tried everything in the KFU--booting into Recovery Mode, rooting again, installing TWRP again, installing FFF again--but none of it works. Most of the time it gets stuck on "waiting for device..." after trying to reboot into Fastboot Mode.
EDIT: It seems that the issue is stemming from not being able to put it into any boot mode other than normal...
Anyone have any ideas?

The Kindle Fire starts booting normally, but then shuts off prematurely or reboots spontaneously before the device completes the startup process.

Not the case—it boots up completely. Also, it says that the solution is to install FFF, which I can't do. The battery was also charged to full when I made the post.

I'm guessing the time from start to reboot is probably closer to 30 seconds then. You apparently didn't do a factory reset in TWRP so you'll need a factory cable to get into fastboot.

I just timed it; lasted 22 seconds. I did not do a factory reset, did not know it was necessary... Do I have to get a factory cable? Is there any other option?

Gnex constant reboot

Today my Gnex randomly rebooted, then got stuck rebooting. it now starts gets all the way to the home screen then reboots, then the cycle starts over. I am rooted runny shiney rom. nothing new installed recently and as stated before the phone was running normal the rebooted out of the the blue.
I have cleared cache, davik and done factory wipe, all to no avail.
the text on bottom of my bootloader reads:
Product name-tuna
variant- toro 32gb
hw version-10
bootloader version primemd04
baseband version-i515.fk02 cdma-unknown
carrier info-none
i cant flash the factory image because the phone doesn't stay powered on long enough to stay connected to the computer. apparently when i re flashed and root i forgot to make a back up so i can not restore that way either.
You could try pulling battery put back in and hold volume buttons and power to get into fastboot mode and flash factory image. Maybe you already tried this but maybe not so thought I'd throw my thoughts your way.

I Have the correct drivers, and have used fast boot before. i think i get the error because when i factory reset it, that turns off the debugging mode.

Debugging mode is only important when you are trying to use adb while booted into Android. In the bootloader, debugging being on or off doesn't matter. It also doesn't matter in recovery either.
Something is wrong somewhere, drivers are usually the best place to start as it is probably the most common reason why the device doesn't communicate with fastboot. Other things to try are different USB cables and USB ports.

Well looks like you know what your doing so looks like you have a major issue beyond my skill level. Sorry i couldn't help. Never tried it but Odin may be a thought. If you can get into recovery you could side load using adb also.

Have you tried the flash-all it seems to do some formatting that may help but I think it does that later after the radios. Warning it will wipe your phone including sdcard.

Have you tried connecting it into download mode, and then flash an odin image through odin? with that method you wont need to actually put the image onto the device but rather odin just copies it over for you while flashing the phone at the same time.
Same issue
My phone started randomly rebooting, and wont stop, it can't get past the lock screen without crashing on me. However i went into recovery, wiped everything, and flashed back to the stock rom ( i was running the shiny 4.3 rom) and the issue is still persistng, anyone know what can be done, or is something possibly wrong with the hardware?
