Hello
I wonder if i can flash sprint rom on at&t note 2
Thanks for all the answer
only if you want to mess up your phone...
Yea be carefull flashing Roms thats is not for your device model. If I were to flash another Rom ft a different carrier I would stay with Tmobile, Att, and gt n7105. Alot of times modems aint included in the rom or you will have an option in Aroma to Retain Modem. Another thing is you might lose LTE flashing Sprint or Verizon Roms because there CDMA and yours is GSM. I would just stick to your own device forums. Or atleast stay on the GSM/LTE Side (7105-i317-t889)

I flashed a tmobile ROM on my AT&T Note 2. I just needed to flash the correct radio. Everything worked fine. All Note 2's have identical hardware.

tmobile offical update for jellybean wont be until the end of 2012, so cant we just port the official jelly bean update from sprint? cause basically the sprint gs3 and all other carriers are the same internally except for the radio. so as long as we just flash the rom without the radio, we should be good ? i have no idea. idk. just a thought
I'm sure someone will try it out soon, but I'm pretty sure you can flash Sprint and att roms no problem

I believe all the carriers have pretty much identical hw except the radios. They most likely have the same partition mapping and so its probably ok to flash anothers roms.
That said, I would NOT do this without solid confirmation. Its basically an educated guess on my part. (A day or two ago someone said they flashed a Verizon rom and it worked, but again, I wouldn't take my or their word for it alone)

Ktoonsez built his touchwiz kernel off the sprint jb source so I'm with doc on this. It's most likely safe. I'm hoping T-Mobile will release their source soon.

Someone in general clashed Sprint and Verizon ROMs just fine. The only issue was getting radios to communicate with the software. I believe they got everything working on the Sprint ROM but Verizon had extra authentication methods.

There are unconfirmed reports that we'll get Jelly bean by the end of november which is really only 4 weeks from now.
Or we can be impatient and want it now.

graffixnyc released a modded version already. I'm working on a straight stock port of it but haven't had much time with it so far. (It boots and runs but I need to do more to it) I should get some time I can spend on it later today, I hope!

The OP could be telling the truth, but till a credible member verify this, I'll question the validity of his/her post. Still, even if it turns out to be true, It remains to be a question whether a sprint rom is flashable on ours or not.

You can flash a sprint rom just fine. will stuff not work without modification? yes, but you will not brick it.
Now, if you flash an international rom to a US variant you will brick because the partitions are different. But everything is the same on the US variants. You do have to change things in the build.prop and make other mods to make it work on GSM. The only thing bad would be if the sprint rom flashes a modem but that wouldn't even brick because you could just flash the correct modem
I also want to mention I released a straight stock port on the ATT forums. This release will work for tmo as well. You just have to change the build prob stuff to show it as a t999 instead of a i747
All the S3 from US carrier have the same hardware. It could be ported just that the radios will have to be changed. I wont doubt it if they do it :good:
OK guys no more talking, that's the official JB for the sprint version, ported for the T-Mobile
Check out. Working great on my phone.

No

Only flash ROMs made for the specific carrier. If you flash an international ROM onto a T-Mobile galaxy s3, your phone will be hard bricked and the only way to unbrick it is to get it JTAG'd, which can cost around 60$.

most ATT roms should be directly compatible with little effort for our tmo GS3. However, do not flash an ATT modems, that will brick your phone for sure.
I also recommend you use TWRP, seems to be less issues with it. good luck and welcome
I suggest you stick to flashing only what you find in this forum. At least until you have had time to get used to your new device. You will run into quite a few conflicting reports on what does or doesn't work well with this phone. Give it time and you will figure out for yourself which are right and which are wrong.
We have plenty of roms and a number of ports from the other carriers so it really shouldn't be necessary to go flashing anything from somewhere else.
Use the other forums for reference, ideas, and learning more about your phone. If you find a mod or app you want to try, just ask if your not confident about it.
Good luck and welcome!
Oh, just fyi, the reports about the i9300 and i9305, are correct! Do NOT flash any roms or mods built for those! Guaranteed Brick!!

I'd be interested in this too, because apparently the AT&T Note and the T-Mobile Note have exactly the same hardware. There was a post in the general forum that some guy supposedly installed an ATT "room" on his TMob Note and everything works fine. Seriously he said room like 10x which is why I think I glanced over the thread so many times without realizing what he was actually talking about.
Just flashed Jedi X and worked like a charm! Data and voice without flashing any modems...awesome

As long as you have the correcr modem N7105, AT&T, and T-mobile ROMs are interchangeable. In fact there are some ROMs in the sev section from Sprint and N7105 base due to multi-window support.

That's actually great news! The larger the base of potential users usually means more dev support.
what we actually need is a hybrid modem that at least gets HSPA+ on T-Mobile and AT&T... so we don't have to flash modems each time we swap sims...
Wow this just made my day! I am so happy about this. Time to flash!

Hi! I wonder can we install rom like I9505XXUAMDM on T-mobile or AT&T version? all of them used cpu qualcomm S600.
I thought of and deleted several asinine responses to this.
My final answer: NO.
But I'm just a random guy who doesn't like to do things which I'm pretty sure from reading the experiences of others will brick a phone. If you want to be another object lesson of what not to do by all means flash that ROM and let us know how it goes for you.
You could try it out for us. Only thing I wouldn't flash is the modem.bin, so if the zip you wanna flash has it, delete it before you go thru with it.
I also want to know this... I wouldn't be surprised if it were possible barring the modem from the i9505. I really want to debrand my phone.
^^^ you guys are dicks. Don't do it, it WILL brick your phone.

Bullsh!t, they have the same chipset. Once again, it would be fine as long as you don't flash the modem.bin
The i9500 is a different story.
Then, by all and any means flash your phone with the international ROM. Pop back in here afterwards and let us know how it went.

there's a way to get it to work.

Me too...
Now your kernel is likely wrong...and not running the hardware correctly.
Not to mention the radio, rils, and apn's...
You got lucky...And you should flash a rooted stock build via odin to clean it up and fix the partitions...imho
Then never do that again...lol
Must have been one hell of a party....g
