As the title says: please someone cook a stock based rom for the international version of the optimus g e975. I am a total noob and am therefore not able to cook one myself. Romkitches is not compatible with our phone but does support the nexus 4 (mako) though. If one is able to explain or provide info on the process of cooking a booting stock based rom for lg phones I might do it on my own.

this is a great idea. i was a bit disappointed when i upgraded to the LGOG (from HOX) that there were only as AOSP/AOPK roms available. right now, I get by with a rooted stock rom. it would be nice to have a custom rom based on stock.
on another note, it would be awesome to start with a stock based kernel with swipe2wake or double tap 2 wake. it's an upcoming feature of the OG2 and used to be my favorite kernel mod for the HOX.
if i wasn't so caught up with work I'd be more that willing to help out.

The OP is mentioning Modem for "E975".
As far as I now, to install this on E975 you will need a compatible Kernel and there is none, if you install Houstonn Kernel you will have non working camera!
aw, it's such a pity though, the Rom had a lot of promise. I just checked back there and I saw that the thread was closed at Aug 4. Bummer.
maybe the kernel will mature eventually and bring a working camera. i don't use the camera that often but i need it sometimes to take picture notes. i'll keep an eye on the kernel thread.

I just had a read through a couple of tutorials. there must be a way to keep the stock kernel, only root it and debloat and deodex all the system data. I have no clue of compiling a kernel and adding stuff like slide 2 wake though. I will try to contact the dev of romkitchen and maybe get something out of there. I cannot imagine it to be that hard. It is kinda urgend, cause my phone keeps crashing with cm10.1 -> bluescreen and system crash....I will have time on the weekend though. If somebody is willing to help me we can meet in IRC. AT LEAST GET ME SUM TUTORIALS TO COOK A STOCK LG ROM I have some here but they seem to be old. I have no other sources.
Bro I have stock based flashable zip for e975. I personally made it for my personal use but I think I should share this to you guys since you want a flashable stock rom. It's 600mb rooted, deodexed, debloated and zipaligned. It will take sometime to upload this since I am living in a slow internet country.

How you deodexed the rom coz im getting error while doin tat...!!
+1
I'm also cooking E975 international 4.1.2 stock based rom, but still testing because there will be modded kernel with overclock possibles and also option to choose what stock applications you want to install, possibility to choose few performance options (internal sd-card buffer, memory management, dfsync ON/OFF, swappiness etc.) with Aroma installer
My priority is to cook and mod rom and kernel that is stable as LG's orginal rom, but it will have many performance and battery improvements.

To deodex just use dsixda's Kitchen but make sure you set the correct API level. Here's a list

Good to see this. But i think overclocking is not needed since Optimus G s already a biggest battery sucker.....1.5 Ghz quad core is far far bettr....Evn in ECO mode (1.5ghz dual core mode) it works smooth.....also swap is also not needed coz more than 50% Ram is empty...!!...

Same with me system files from CWM backup can't be use so here;s what I did.
1st you must install Terminal Emulator from market.
Run this command
su [Enter]
tar -c system/* >> sdcard/system.tar [Enter]
Click to collapse
It will take sometime to finish so be patient.
Once it is finish you will see the system.tar file which includes all the system files. It's weird because I restarted my phone before seeing the system.tar folder inside my sdcard. (maybe you can do that too if you don't see it)

I have done the same before but there are missing files. You don't even know if your busybox is working or not. Try using the commands to check if you have working busybox. I encountered many errors before like "sh: tar not found".
It's great to see this, I miss so much my days of testing roms (SGS3). The OG is perfect with the stock rom but I think that the visual aspect is kind of lame. If you guys can improve the menus and the visual aspect would be perfect!!!
P.D.: Maybe add some features of the OG Pro Rom

I'm pleased to present my repack of the stock ROM for the HTC Vision! READ THIS WHOLE POST BEFORE YOU START! No, really, it contains everything you need to know.
Remember that if you use this ROM, you do so entirely at your own risk!!
About MoDaCo stock ROM repacks
Unlike a MCR (MoDaCo Custom ROM) release, a stock ROM repack is as close to the stock ROM as possible. Only root / Superuser and an insecure boot image is added. The benefits of the repack are providing a rollback option in update zip format as well as providing an online kitchen to remove parts that are not required.
A MCR release of this ROM is also available!
Requirements
In order to use this ROM on your device, you must have a custom recovery image installed (Clockwork Mod).
THIS ROM SHOULD RUN ON BOTH THE G2 AND THE DESIRE Z!
Features
Repack of the 1.22.531.8 (OTA) ROM
Pre-rooted with su and Superuser Permissions by ChainsDD
Insecure boot image (ro.secure=0)
Changelog
Please see the post below this one for the changes in each release.
Installation
To install this ROM:
Download the zip file of your choice from the links below (or the online kitchen) and copy to your SD card
Restart your device in recovery mode
PERFORM A NANDROID BACKUP FROM THE MENU
Select the option to apply an update zip, and select the zip file you copied to your memory card
Upgrading
No wipe is explicitly required in order to use this ROM (unless you are coming from a 'Sense' ROM), however if you do encounter issues of any kind, it is recommended that you wipe your device and reproduce the issue before raising it here.
Downloads
This ROM is now available in the online kitchen - see the post below for details! In addition to the kitchen, a prebaked download is available.

Works perfectly. Very snappy. Using it with the ROM kitchen is a nice way to customize exactly the ROM you want. I used that to keep my old email.apk that doesn't ask for a alphanumeric password every time I want to use the phone.

Pual, I for the life of me can't seem to get this overclocked. I should be able to overclock this using the steps in the link below correct? Oh, and by the way I love the rom. I used baconbit, which was great until i found out I couldn't use my extended battery on it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=813681
I've done a total wipe and installed your rom and my app with titanium. Here's the link.
I've put the ota ko file in the root of the my sd. And ran the attached .sh files in gscript, but all i get is errors.
Edit: nevermind I see that the OP to the overclocking post no longer supports it. I guess ill have to go with the new kernal and hope it works with extended batteries. Thanks for reading.

1.To enable themes create a folder named theme in /data/system using any root explorer( very important for themes to work)
2.use exdialer instead of stock dialer (exdialer already in rom )
3.to use alternate launcher open milocker app and go to settings and go to lock home key option and do as mentioned in it.

Pardon my ignorance, but what is MIUI exactly ? Another custom build of Android, just like Cyagenmod is ? What are its fundamental differences compared to Cyanogemond ?
edit : wikipedia's description provided me with part of the answer, but on what basis should i choose your cyanogenmod our our miui ports ?

Thank you. For my needs, stability is more important than the UI. According to the description of both of your ROMs, the Cyanogemnod port seems to have less bugs. Can you confirm that ?

deodexed rom will take more space from the internal memory
since our phone have less internal memory its better to use odexed rom and also odexed will be faster
since our system memory is also less it was hard to odex it. that was why i uploaded deodexed rom.

I say overclock it for about 15-20% which I think is the safest for such low frequency device, anything above it as stated will cause instability.
Ok, I've commented about this several times in the CM10 Discussion thread and nobody seems to give a rat's bum...

Why not just run v20f? Once you put in the APN info it runs just fine with AT&T and with the additional tweeks it offers better battery life and a newer improved Adreno driver plus it offers the quickmemo you love its a win win for you.

Have you tried reflashing the camera and the lib files as well ? i know the lib files have something to do with editing photos and stuffs, cuz i had to flash them after installating the 4.2 camera with new ones or editing would not work, maybe try to reflash the right lib files that comes with the camera version you are using.

You can extract them from the .zip of the rom you are using or a basic CM10 if you are using camera 4.1, if using 4.2 you are gonna have to find the complete package that comes with the lib, look for the thread called "android 4.1 to 4.2" and extract them from its package or extract them from a CM10.1 package (not sure that works tho, used the android 4.1 to 4.2 package in my case)
As for the files, you need to extract:
In the zip, they are in system/lib and are named libjni_filtershow_filters.so libjni_latinimegoogle.so libjni_mosaic.so and liblightcycle.so
Once you extracted the files, (backup or rename the old files 1st) copy them to your phone's system/lib using a root explorer (es or root explorer w.e you like to use) and make sure to change the files persmissions to r-r-rw and reboot your phone.

If that doesnt work, l really dont know ...

It wouldn't work to use those lib files from CM10 because this issue is with all CM10 based Roms

How about flashing the 4.2 camera with the CM10.1 lib files ... you can get them from the "android 4.2 to 4.1" thread i mentioned above, why not give it try instead of assuming it wont work =)

It's not a problem that can be easily fixed. It has to do with the proprietary drivers.

Thank you for this!! So nice to not have all that silly bloatware.
Just an FYI, I could not flash this using TWRP, had no issues with CWM though.
phone seems alot quicker, the fast dormancy App, does that work with our phones? Or do we have to do it through ADB?
The setting we need to change is on the line 302780?? I think.
I thought ths App only worked with the phone model for the guy who created it?
Will it be possible to make one for Rogers? I'd love to help in any way possible.
hey houstonn,
you think this will work on the telus?

I have weeded out a good chunk of the included apps using Titanium and I must say I could not be more happy with this phone. I got rid of apps that I know I would never use, installed a few stock Google apps to replace, but left that apps I felt like...maybe that could be useful. The biggest change came after disabling Fast Dormancy(thank you VERY much to jonasl). My Android OS usage in Battery Info went from being 50-55% usage to 14-23%. No more wake in BetterBatteryStats related to fast dormancy.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2018894
For Sasktel E973 users...the MCCMNC # Sasktel uses is 302780...so to do this via ADB your commands would be as follows:
$ adb shell
# su
# sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
update dcm_settings set fastdormancy="0" where numeric="302780";
.quit
# reboot
And if you want to revert back to having it enabled with default values you would do:
$ adb shell
# su
# sqlite3 /data/data/com.android.providers.telephony/databases/telephony.db
update dcm_settings set fastdormancy="1,0,0,1000,5000,10000,5000,5000,1" where numeric="302780";
.quit
# reboot
For other Canadian Network MCCMNC #'s ....

The apps that I have successuly uninstalled via Titanium in no particular order:
-Calender
-Calender Widget
-Email
-Email Widget
-Facebook
-Favorite Contact Widget
-Finance
-Media Home
-Memo
-Memo Widget
-Music 3.1.007
-Music 3.0.33
-MusicFX
-News
-Notebook
-SmartShare
-Twitter
-Video Editor
-Video Wiz
-Nuance Voice Control
-Voice Recorder
-Weather
-Google Play Books
-Google Play Movies
That at is all.....cheers all

I was not aware of that.. my phone has been more or less in testing since I've gotten it. I haven't check out much on the fast dormancy.
maybe i'll just wont include in on other roms. thanks.
I've Updated the 2nd post with the links for Rogers and Telus.. They are purely there for testing right now. I have not tested them yet.
Make sure you nandroid and use that backup if you have to.
Any chance you would be interested in making this debloated? The thread with the debloated ROM is pretty much dead. If this one works as well as others are saying, then having a clean stock Rom with all the junk removed like in member markdexter's post would be awesome, and a real time saver. All the carrier and LG crapwear is the main reason I'm using the CM Rom.

Dear Brothers,
I am not a great dev but a helping hand for a few dev. Here I am bringing something that I haven't seen anywhere on XDA (In any LG Optimus Phone Forum).
Its one of the unique features of our LG Optimus G Pro Phones. The Q-Voice (Earlier Quick Voice) & Q-Translator App. It was earlier working for only F240 (Korean Models) but now it will work on all G Pro Models (All E & F Series).
Notes:-
1) You need to have Google Search installed and activated for Q-Voice to work.
2) You need internet connection for Q-Translator.
3) You need to be rooted to make it work.
4) Zip need to be flashed through any custom recovery.
5) Manual Instructions are given below.
Download (md5:5d38140321f8dfb39c886822291a34e2)
Manual Instructions:-
1) Download zip & Extract files.
2) Copy applications of "priv-app" folder (LGNLPService.apk, LGTTSPAService.apk, PersonalAssistantbin.apk, Qtranslatorbin.apk) inside your "system/priv-app" folder and give permission "RW-R-R".
3) Install all apps of "data/app" folder of the zip like normal app.
4) Reboot & Enjoy.
Please do let me know if there is any troubleshooting needed.
You are doing this or any other modification with your own wish and so none other than you is responsible for the damaged occurring to your mobile.
Screenshots from my Optimus G Pro are given below for purpose.
Thanks & Regards
BOND

Brother,
Edit build.prop and make the below lines like mentioned:-
Code:
ro.product.locale.language=en
ro.product.locale.region=GB
Then do a factory reset, wipe cache and data, and dalvik cache. Then everything will work in English, that's for sure. I am using like this only.

Ok Brothers,
May I know what error you are getting? Have you installed Google Search and use google search for once to make Q-Voice work ?
Which ROM where you using?
If its not working for E-988/0 Series then please edit your build.prop through build.prop editor and change the model no. to K240L. Because its working in my K240L after changing my build prop only. All the needed application is working.

Hey so just wondering which version of g3 ROM are u using, since I hear that 5.4 has calling bugs & 5.3 is better. I'm trying to decide on this ROM or beanstalk for my att lg g pro e980. Or am I just better off staying with stock kk 4.4 & using xposed framework. I would prefer to have almost everything working & would like great battery life since I'm on phone all the time? Thanks in advance.

Once you try a decent G3-wannabe ROM you'll not want to go back to stock. Sadly, there are none about that are reasonably bug-free; but if you don't trip over what bugs they have, they are much more pleasant than stock LG Kitkat, which is drab in comparison.
Beanstalk: I don't know if a build for the e980 has been updated for a while? If going with a Kitkat Cyanogenmod ROM, then PAC-Rom is probably the best of them. It's stable and packed with green peaness and country goodness.
Lollipop Cyanogenmod ROMs, while noticeably snappier in performance, aren't really feature-complete yet, and you might not have a quality experience unless you enjoy a more vanilla android feel (I don't think Themes are working for CM12 yet, so they all seem to be inalterably hideous).
> I would prefer to have almost everything working & would like great battery life since I'm on phone all the time?
To take advantage of all of the LG features, then stock or Sphinx v3.0 would be best. If you can live without the Qremote and whatnot, then you probably can't go wrong with a PAC-Rom or CarbonROM or even the Oneplus CM11S.
why can't my qtranslator be installed?
qvoice can be installed but qtranslator cannot. every time when I download the the applicaton from the data folde, it keeps telling me that it is not installed :crying:. why :crying: I have changed the permission! my phone is LG optimus gpro .
Q translator is working great in my g2 running cloudy 2.2 but I can't make Q voice work well... I have Google search ... I 'll be back after a couple attempts
The link have an error,, can You upload it again please
