HTC ONE X: Cyanogenmod 10.1 - Tweaks Tricks and Hidden menus - HTC One X

Hey everyone if u are on this forum then you have upgraded to the new cyanogenmod 10.1 custom ROM and you are looking for the best way to improve your experience.
If you are however, you are not a cm 10.1 user here links and instructions on how to do so.
If you want to install cm 10.1 from a stock ROM( Phone fresh out of the box) there are a few things you need to do....
1) Unlock your bootloader.
2) Install custom recovery. (TWRP is highly recommended for HTC one x)
3) Root your device.
Steps 1-3 can be done following this instuctional https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9b-BReM6HF8&feature=youtube_gdata_player
3) And last but not least install cm10.1
Cm 10.1 is only supported best on hboot 1.39 and upwards ahere's an instructional on how to do that http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2156686
First of all many of you are wondering what will happen to my beats audio if I update to cm 10.1. There is good news and bad news. Bad news first, beats audio is NOT part of the cm 10.1 firmware. But, the good news is that an alternative to beats audio is available.
To get the new awesome beats v5 simply visit the link below on your android and download. Open up goomanager and click flash ROM search for AwesomeBEATS_v5_Aroma.zip then click order and flash selected and wait for the magic to happen. This may take close to ten minutes so be patient. ( TIP: remember to wipe your caches and when asked for ROM base choose cyanogen mod base )

NOW FOR THE HIDDEN MENUS AND TRICKS!
Many of you want to access developer options after upgrading but can't find the option. Don't worry because its there.

View attachment 2177566
Next are some cool game like features in the settings menu.
In the about phone menu tap Android Version repeatedly until you see this awesome screen.
View attachment 2177578
Then tap and hold the bean and u will be taken to a screen with floating BEANS!! how awesome is that? You can also play around with the beans using your touch screen.
View attachment 2177579
Next, in d same about phone menu, tap CyanogenMod Version repeatedly and you will see the same screen as before but with cm heads. Tap and hold for the same animations.

Although I feel every young flasher will already know all of this, still a nice effort for a thread

Thanks but I didn't know these things when I started off so I'm just trying to bring more information forward.

You are linking to a thread that's about downgrading the hboot of the AT&T version of the HTC One X. In that thread they say: 'S-Off required to proceed.'
Since we aren't able to S-Off the international version of the HTC One X yet, I think the link to that thread is pointless That thread btw also links to files compatible with the AT&T version of the One X, not with the international version.

I'm sorry but I had the Evita in mind. The info will be updated soon. btw I used the same method to upgrade my Evita's boot without s-off

upgrading is supported by HTC and is a whole different story than S-off and downgrading

Very helpful, thanks

Is there a way to boot directly in to recovery with the power menu?

Yes it possible if u have an app which supports a custom boot menu like boot menu or too manager. Or if u have cm 10.1 go to settings>system>power menu and check reboot menu.

[Q] So I just rooted and flashed Cyanogen

... But I no longer have the Market, or any of my contacts... in fact, it seems that everything is gone.
Can someone tell me how this is properly done? :/
And by the way, if anyone has any decent Gingerbread ROMs, I'd love that
I had the same issues so I went back to virtuas 0.8.1 wich is sweet. I think I'm going to wait intill cynamod 7.0 comes out, speaking of that does anyone know what the progress is on that? How far away can we expect? I'm super pumped

You need to download the gapps zip aswell. The zip will contain the Google apps your looking for. I know for a fact cyanogen links them on the first post of all this treads along with making them available on rom manager. Just go to the first post click his link to the rom and you'll find it on his CyanogenMod forum. They could be right under the download link to the rom.
First post, download the Google adding and install like you could any other zip.

just check out the cm7 in the g2 development section and youll see how far they have gone, and when itll be released.
You didn't also flash the Google Apps. You need to do both. CM doesn't include the Google Apps per a copyright dispute with Google. The other ROMs include them just because CM was the first big ROM and Google asked them to stop.
Google Apps can be downloaded separately from the CM site, ROM Manager, or XDA.

[Mod][Stock][Root][1.29.401.11] Remove Menubar for odexed Stock Rom!

I decided to open my own thread with the Menubutton-bar hack just for stock Roms! Many people asked for this mod in blubbers thread and the links and availability for the ODEX Stock versions where not there
I personally use the standard button configuration Back - Home - Recent with the addition of LongPressHome -> Menu because i think the hardware buttons should be working the way that they are intended, and also i don't need the menu button that often!
However i will also provide the second version of this mod, with the following buttonconfiguration: Back - Home - Menu and LongPressHome -> Recent
Information:
other android.policy.jar mods will be lost (e.g. volumebutton mods, advanced powermenu)
[Side effect]Arrow keys on htc softkeyboard are only visible in ICS conform apps, don't know yet why they don't show on legacy apps
Prerequisites:
Stock Rom
Odexed
Root
CWM Recovery or any compatible
Installation:
!!Requires Root!!
Just download the file, place it on the Sdcard and flash from ClockworkMod Recovery!
If you like the mod, please take a few seconds, and click on the "Thanks" button below!
The following downloads are available:
1.29.401.11:
box links and xda dl are the same files
{Back - Home - Recent} + Long press home -> Menu: lphome-menu.zip
{Back - Home - Menu} + Long press home -> Recent: recent_menu.zip
Stock file if someone wants to clean the mod, or before flashing any OTA update: stock.zip
Credits: blubbers for the initial mod and idea
for deodexed stock roms, or any custom rom, go to his Thread: [MOD|1.26|1.28|1.29] Disable the annoying ICS 3-dot Menu [deodexed]
Anyone tried this mod with Bricked kernels sweep2wake?
i used bricked with sweep2wake on 401.7 and had no problems, but i reverted to stock kernel because of random reboots with bricked
thanks mate works good on stock 1.29.407.11
works fine thx!

[Q] Android Revolution HD ROM

Hi guys recently installed the latest mike1986 Rom after switching from Leedroid Rom, however I noticed Android Revolution HD Rom has the annoying three dots that take up the screen unlike leedroid. I know that Android Revolution HD is a no visual change rom, my question is there a way to TWEAK OR REMOVE the annoying three menu dots. Thanks in advance.
Read the first three posts in the thread, they are there to help you.
this should help..
There is a way to remove the 3 dots, however the new 7.0.0 android revolution has been released and HTC has incorporated a way to remove the 3 dot menu and use the recent apps key as a menu button on the new 4.0.4
If you want the 3 dots menu fix for ARHD 6.x.x then it's here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1582506
question, since its about ARHD, i flash the rom but there's two options, one is for rosie (hope thats correct) and one is for performance wise, last two steps before completing the process, and i think i took the wrong options, and after rebooting my home screen is black.
which option should i take?

I can't remember all three options but if you're having issues just choose the stock one, the one that says all animations remain untouched

Yes, you must download the boot.img for 7.0.0. And flash it frist, then sw and then the rom

Alter look and feel of recent apps UI
Seeing as this thread has a non-specific title that relates to the ROM I'm running and I can't yet post on the main revolution thread due to my small post count I shall ask my question here.
I'm running Android Revolution HD 7.0.0 with franco r10 kernel and have 'no-sense'd it using ROM cleaner.
Is there a way to change the look and feel of the recent apps UI to be like the stock ICS one that you get on the cm9 ROMs? That is, a vertical scrolling 2D list rather than the 3D card shuffling you get by default on the One X.
Searching the forums here and the rest of the net I think I've got as far as working out it's in SystemUI.apk, but I've no idea if that is interchangeable between ROMs; I doubt it is.
I realise this is a very minor annoyance, but any help would be greatly appreciated!

Aniboot - the app that lets you choose & flash any boot animation

Pretty cool app I just found - it's called "Aniboot".
Free install:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...1bGwsMSwyLDEsImNvbS5zb2NhbGRldnMuYW5pYm9vdCJd
Just install it. Select your resolution (1280x720 for me) and it shows you dozens of boot animations. Just click the one that sounds interesting, then click on "preview" to see what it looks like. Then click "install" if you like that animation.
The app is fast & easy to use.
If you guys find any boot animations it doesn't have already, then just send the developer an email to ask him to add it!
EDIT 12/29/12:
The Aniboot app requires root.
EDIT 12/29/12:
If you're on the new 4.1.1 JB official release, you might be having trouble using this app again? If so, then just flash the attached zip in CWM or TWRP and after doing so, the custom boot animations should start working again. Thanks go to user "Anbech" for the zip on his thread here:

NM!

Sorry, I should have said it's only for root users. I just assume everyone at XDA is rooted, since it is a "developmental" forum.
Fantastic app. Some great choices in there, and it's free!
this also doesn't work for the S3 if the ROM you use has touchwiz.
Great app. Provides great ba's. Great for those that are sucks of the gay unicorn on aokp

[Q] ROM Toolbox Pro Issues

Hello Everyone,
I recently downloaded the "ROM Toolbox Pro" app onto my HTC One V. At first I wasnt sure of all the things you can modify your phone with, but after looking and playing around for a few hours I got the idea. I noticed that you can change your [3G] icon to different colors and so forth for other icons on your phone. When I reboot the phone after applying a new boot logo, and Icon it didnt work at all. My first thought was that maybe you cannot modify anything with the Stock ROM? If anyone can tell me any information about this, that would be wonderful!
Also if I need to switch my ROM to something else, can someone please send me a link to a good ROM for the HTC One V that doesnt have any issues, and the full setup on how to do it? That would be wonderful!
Thanks alot,

First it would be helpful to know if u primoc (us) or primou, that way u can be told were too look but here is a guide on lots of stuff,
How to flash a custom kernel and rom

People say it is a daily user read the op
Here is codefirex primoc this is a full jb 4.2.2
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2152960
One major problem to some no camera since it's kernel is ion based. I like this room a little more to cm10.1
If u are primou I'll provide u links if u like as always read tutorials and the instructions in the developers ROMs introduction post of what ever ROM u choose. Some ROMs have a little different way of that rom being flashed in order for it to work. As always i am in no way at fault for any thing or way that u may totally f up ur phone during the process of flashing my ROM or any other ROM/kernel.
Good luck and welcome to xda

Boot Animation - Install
I've had problems with getting new fonts on my Samsung Player 5 (ROM: Chip1.5).
Worse, the Boot Animation and Randomizer won't let me change the boot animation any longer. It was working (especially when I had the standalone Boot Animation app). Not sure what happened?
