How to get OTA - HTC One X

Sir i have htc one x (asia) rooted but i am on stock htc rom with kernal virsion of "3.1.10-g62b3f63
[email protected] #1
SMP PREEMPT"
i dont think that i have changed and kernal but this is the kernal after i got root access.
I wanna get ota upeates as htc has started giving updates to one x +
So what should i do with my one x (rooted) for getting ota??

Hey why u need get ota's if u rooted? Because the custom roms driver before ota come to u.
If u want ota u have to do unroot and go back to full stock.
U can use RUU .

Update is still not available for hox so no need to go now back to stock...and why using stock rooted when custom Rom is much better?

Some guys says that if u have orignal stock recovery and boot.img , recovery.img files then u can get ota...
Is it true?

You need stock Rom or nandroid backup which is the right for your cid and then the boot.img and recovery.img from it so that you are then able to get ota...relock also and its fine

3.14.401.31 Rolling Out

CID 032 here.
A relatively small update has arrived saying some bull about better productivity. Was unable to make a screenshot and hit update.
Software version is htc one x 3.14.401.31 now.
Anyone?
do you have the complete filename from this ota
I can confirm this, also on CID_032.
The only release note is "system enhancement".
The update is 15Mb.
I think you shouldn't start a new topic post in the ota topic of jb update

I know it's probably too soon to draw any conclusions but I've been on this update for about 2 hours now and the battery drainage seems to be fixed...

Please help want to go back to Ics from jellybean

Hi guys been scouting the forums for a couple of days now .
I want to go back to ics from jellybean , using stock firmware , not rooted and S on .
Is there a quick and simple ruu that I could use to do this , until the next firmware drops , as 4.2 and sense 5 seems imminent.
Thanks in advance for your advice guys .
All the best ,
Chris .

Try to find any ICS backup for your device and restore it from recovery.
Check this >> http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975140
Thank you very much for your reply mate , excuse me for my noobness but which one would I choose and how do I find out what cid I am .
Thanks again for taking the time out to help a brother out
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
You can get your CID from this app >> https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=org.tritonsoft.cidgetter
Or you can type this command in fastboot >> fastboot getvar cid
Thanks again for your help mate , I'll report back with my findings

Apparently my CID is HTC_001
Does that make any sense to you ?

Restore with CWM. And don't worry that the cid of the backup is HTC_e11, all the WWE cids have same firmware.

Download the latest version for your device then restore it using custom recovery.
Don't forget to flash the stock boot.img manually through CMD.

Depends !!! If he's on JB 3.14 then he can restore a ICS rom perfectly, if he's higher then 3.14 then he cant.....
Hmmm I'm on jb 320 so does that mean I am stuffed guys ?
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
No just do this :
Fastboot getvar version-main
And post the exact outcome ! Then we help. But why do you want to go back to stock ICS when you can run stock JB ?
Just wanted to back it because I'm finding this a bit laggy mate to be honest .
For what the phone has horsepower wise seems slow .
When I had a ics hox for a while was very very snappy .
Also my favourite navigation ain't working propely with jb.
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Aha i get ya ! Well to be honest i don't have a way to get you back on ics. Its probably possible with an adapted kernel (repacked) or at least something like that. But i dont know how to fix that. And i havent seen the solution on xda either.
Sorry its JB for now and on to sense 5. Maybe it will improve a lot for you.
I can't say my phone is laggy at all btw. No issues here.
So is there a way of doing a repair install to see if that makes a difference and spoke to HTC support today apparently 4.2.2 ans sense 5 is in testing and is likely to be released within the next few weeks or so .
Sent from my HTC One X using xda premium
Yes. I need some exact info !
1: Fastboot getvar version-main
2: your type recovery and version number of it
Ok mate will do , just got back home from work ,I'll sit down later on the pc and do it .
Thanks for your help.

what i mean was a 4.1.1 stock rom. i updated to 4.2.2 but forgot to take a backup before i installed cm10.2. i didn't have a backup of 4.1.1 either but i download the nandroid backup for my cid and restored it fine through philz. mobile data was working and i was getting full bars at home so everything was fine but i didn't bother trying to call someone. i downloaded the update, kept a copy of the ota zip then updated again and all was good.
So i want nandroid backup for cid : htc_038, so i can downgrade my phone to android 4.1.1
Please provide me link for the same...

WiFi fix for sense 5 roms which doesn't have it

Hey guys I took the ota from maximusHD Rom which has the fix and removed a few files for maximusHD Rom so only the fix is inside.
Thanks to RichmondoUK and Football for getting us that fix so if someone is facing with stock Rom or another custom Rom based on sense 5 without the fix some WiFi problems, flash it and it should fix those problems.
https://www.dropbox.com/s/khullx0lonf0fmg/WiFi-fix for sense 5.zip
a few roms like maximusHD and viperX already are having that fix included and also some kernels are fixing WiFi ... So no need to flash on those roms

for example you have good wifi signal but network isn't really working or really slow...for example you should download with 250 kb/s but instead only with 5 or less...and that should fix it...

Yes, when i was hboot 1.39 i unlock the bootloader. But then i go back to stock rom, update my phone and now my phone is hboot 1.72. Can i use the old unlock_code.bin?
And when you mean flash via recovery, which recovery should i use?
Yes you can use the old unlock code and you need a custom recovery like Philz touch or the latest test version of twrp
