do u guys think that a waist holster will hold my phone with a tpu case on the phone? will it be enough room in the holster? thx for your input
I found some stuff online saying that the Captivate with a Body Glove case is roughly the same size as an HTC Evo, so any Evo case would work for that. TPU case looks similar in size to BG
ok,thx alot for the response. so i should try an Evo case?
Best Buy has a Platinum series holster with a snap on case that looks pretty nice.

Has anyone tried this because I'm using body glove case and would like a holster. I have imo a decent case and screen protector so the holster doesn't have to be expensive.

It is a little snug. I am getting used to it and it is a little easier to get out. I don't get it out a lot and once we get bluetooth dialing, I will get it out even less.
I just got one from eBay did a search for captivate holster got a nice leather one with belt loops and a clip with magnetic flap for around 8 dollars I believe works great with me silicon case that I have on my phone without a case on your phone its a little loose however.

The Captivate will fit in a Verizon Motorola Droid X leather case with or without the Body Glove case.
I am looking to get the slimmest case possible for my Captivate. From the research I have done so far it looks like the BodyGlove TPU or the Innocase II Surface might be the best options. Can anyone who has some experience with these cases comment on how much bulk they add to the phone?
Thanks.

The cheap Ebay/Amazon silicone rubber cases are probably the thinnest.
What's wrong with a skin?

I use the Amzer Luxe Argyle style case. It's thinner than the Bodyglove. Only problem is the power button is a bit harder to push through the skin.

Hmmm... I don't think those are very thin. In fact, from the very first post in the thread you you link to: "The case is pretty thick".

I considered it, but I think I want a bit of impact protection. I will likely skin it underneath the case so I can use it without as well.

military grade screen protection all around.
no bulk no case no nothing. except film,
The Body Glove Mirage has been working great for me so far. Its quite thin
I just got my argyle case off ebay in the mail. I am thoroughly impressed in the quality and fit, very well worth it for the $8.53 I paid. I like it more than my body glove TPU case.

Same here...only one i've seen so far is the otterbox....but it's very bulky. I hope theres other option coming soon.
Yeah bought the otter box but I will be returning it. The case makes the phone too large. Also the clip holster is huge as well.
I bought the bodyglove case from att.com and picked up a universal bodyglove smartphone pouch this morning at walmart. Now my phone is protected and I can carry it on my belt.

I tried an Atrix 'thin' case from a mall kiosk today for $10 and was about to grab it until I found I couldn't really use the fingerprint scanner. It seemed that either the hole wasn't big enough or the material was too thick around the fingerprint reader.
I too am looking for a belt-clip case that swivels with no magnet for the Atrix.
write to seidioonline... they make great clips...
I'm using the feather case in a droid x plastic belt clip swivel holster. Works great! The holster is a lil taller than the phone tho. It worked great on my captivate as well. Would def. Recommend to anyone that wanted easy access to the phone asap

Why no magnet? Does that cause a problem?
Reason I ask is that I found a Duracell leather carrying case at the dollar store that has a magnetic closure in the flap. I figured I'd wait and get the protective case (probably a Body Glove Mirage or an Incipio Feather) first than then confirm that it fits in the Duracell case before buying it. It's a really nice looking belt-clip carrying case.
magnets are what causes it to go into the car docking app i believe, so it would cause it to launch whenever a magnet gets near it
I am using one from an old Samsung blackjack and it fits perfect. A lot cheaper than anything coming out also!
I bought a nice universal one for 30 from att fits perfectly and I can charge while its closed

Followup about the Duracell leather case. The Atrix naked will barely fit longwise. With a Body Glove Mirage case on the phone, the Duracell case is too tight.

I don't believe that is correct. AT&T sells an AGF Premium Leather Case for $39.99 (too pricey for me)
The description reads:
AGFs Premium Leather Pouch is made from beautifully crafted leather. This case is equipped with special sleeper magnets so that when your device is placed in the case, it automatically goes into sleep mode and helps preserve your battery life. AGFs Premium Leather Pouch also includes our 180-degree rotating belt clip, allowing for adjustable placement and maximum comfort. Our attractive magnetic flap, with a contrasting leather stripe, makes securing your phone amazingly simple. This pouch has all the utility you'd expect, paired with the style you want.

So apparently magnets don't make the phone activate the car docking app.

Yeah they really do. I absolutely love the clip for my Blackberry 9700. It was a shame they didn't have a solution for my Captivate (without using their case). Definitely hope they do something for the Atrix though!
Anyone have any thoughts on which case is better?--the Case-Mate Barely There or the Incipio Feather Hard Shell.
I want something that won't increase the thickness of my phone too much but will still offer some protection. Thanks!
I have the incipio case and it's pretty nice. Adds a bit more girth, about 1mm in every direction, feels good in my meat paw. It definitely adds some good protection, which is what I'm more concerned about. It has that soft feel plastic and rubber that everyone loves. Biggest complaint is it's a lint magnet.
I have both ordered and they should arrive the first part of the week (according to Amazon). If no one else replies before then, I'll get lots of pics of them both and post my thoughts.
Pacifik: is that the double cover case? I saw that in the Verizon store and didn't like how it had both the silicone case and the hard shell. I'm looking at the one that's just the hard shell (found on their site--I can't post the link because I'm new).
LiquidHonesty: Thanks! I'll be interested to see which one you like more.
I love the look of both these cases. Does anybody have any suggestions for a belt clip holster that will fit either of these cases? I've always used the Seidio combos but the Surface case is thicker than these options.

It is the dual cover case, the hard plastic locks the silicon in place. Need extra protection from all the big machines I work with.

Haven't had a chance to try out the Case-Mate case, but the Feather case is good if you want the LEAST amount of protection, while still having a case on. It is a very nice case in terms of material, because it feels very soft almost like a hardened suede type feel. As with all snap ons though be careful that you don't get sand in the back or that could really scratch up the backside.
Feather case though doesn't protect the top and bottom corners of the phone as well though. I've dropped my nexus s a few times that had a feather case and the corners were always the ones it landed on.. Must've been my bad luck, but in any case, my corners are a bit dented up.

Well the case is 138.6 x 72.6 x 2.3 mm
The Galaxy nexus is 135.5 x 67.9 x 8.9 mm
So about 3-5 mm larger on the width and length, and the thickness would be about 2mm thicker.
isnt the case mate one loose on GSM phones?
Has anyone seen these cases in a store? Would love to see one in person. I thought I read somewhere here that bestbuy has the case mate but I didn't see it at mine.

for the LTE or GSM version?
I have the Incipio Feather Hard Shell case from Verizon. It was between this and the glossy body case they had. I asked the rep if i could try on different cases to i could get a feel for the one i want. This one was hands down the best looking and best fitting. Its a 2 piece case yea. It does attract lint. But its really an awesome case. I got a Zagg screen protector also, and with this and the case, it gives my phone a really premium look. The added thickness isn't really noticeable if ur just using the phone as u normally would IMO. I would honestly choose this over any case out there. Great for, nice stylish look and great protection.

Just to clarify, I'm pretty sure you have the silicrylic case not the feather.

Get the seidio surface, mine just came today and it puts the incipio case i got from verizon to shame.
It's really thin, the fit is perfect, and it doesn't attract fingerprints or get stuck going in or out of your pocket.

just a standard battery, i HIGHLY doubt the case will fit with the extended battery. Especially because there's a front piece and a back piece that snap together.
from the youtube review it looks like it's missing the cut off for the 3 pin connector.
