Ok as some of you know I have been experimenting with AOSP 4.3 lately, and I have build it now from source (with the help of a lot of external repositories. although every file in /system/app and /system/framework is from the real aosp. so that means there are zero modifications to the system. This first build I really messy, I have compiled it with very much pain lol. It's kinda "frankenrom" right now since I have merged different builds together to get the best working system. but it works! And that's a big word when talking about the static aosp. (this is mainly because of the cm repo's else it would have never booted).
The performance is about the same of CM-10.2. it scores around 25k in antutu, but that's the last thing I care about right now.
I think we can get AOSP to work completely for jfltexx, it's not so hard with combined power.. it's hard to do it on your own tho.
Vanilla-O-Meter: 86%
(This represents the percentage of AOSP vanilla repositories used for last build)

Thanks The RIL is working but it is not receiving anything, so that's a problem. the current way to hang up a phone call is: "adb shell radiooptions 10" :silly::silly:
but not being able to get called is a real problem, it just rings and rings at the person who calls but phone received nothing, also not in logcat. But the reason for that is the telephony provider of AOSP is not properly supporting the samsung ril,so i'm working on that (it's not easy XD :silly
For now Ill switch back to CM because all that time i'm not reachable. Keep checking this thread for updates.
edit: btw, if people want to experiment, please do! I cannot afford to be unreachable all the time
I like what your doing on xda but I noticed when your opening a thread I it's not maintained and dies out.

don't worry on this one lol, it's aosp. it's my number one priority since 1.5 years XD
I have currently made a new github organization (https://github.com/AOSP-S4) where I will store all the repositories

Already fixed Incoming SMS, now incoming Calls is the target, I think the reason is that the signal strenght is extremely worse (not in the bar but as in values 1500 dBm 780 asu, its should be like 90 afaik. So working on that. :silly:
Also able to build it completely from source without any stops so everything gets compiled, no frankenrom combinations
Last 3 issues:
- Call incoming
- Bluetooth
- Camera
Hi Brood,
I was wondering if you could explain what the differences are with your [JSS15J] AOSP vs other AOSP versions out CM10.2 etc etc ???
I am sure i am not the only one very curious about this. Maybe a little bit of info on the process and so on.
Cheers mate !!!

Well. this aosp build has been compiled from sources. it uses pretty much CM sources, in order to be able to compile. Although the roms apps/framework files all 100% stock aosp 4.3. It had no modifications whatsoever zo its a sort of base ROM for developers. The most awesome roms are made on aosp. for example CM which is the most popular. CM is heavily modified but a true example of an aosp rom.
Then you have the samsung aosp builds... Which is the least actual aosp of all 3. The ROM is way to big to be a real aosp build. It contains loads of extra stuff which is their framework , but the worst part is. Closed source. So endless painful reverse engineering rom building.
Aosp is the initial mother ROM of all Android roms. Also for sammy stock fw. But if you compare 200mb (aosp) to 2.1gb (tw stock, bloated) then its just a big joke. they make their system so over the top large that it just redeems about 4gb of your total sdcard. Instead of optimizing the stock ROM. They only bloat it richly and add many crap that you dont want.. I love Samsung phones but im my opinion TW is a load of junk. I remeber doping my first antutu test. Just out the store. Phone went black. Reaching about 90 degrees Celcius.
In general the hardware of Samsung is always +1 but the software is always constructed very poorly. Without keeping any optimizing in kind. Samsung just wants tot release as much devices as possible. They do not care about the bugs it seems. Which is good because TW is one mega bug
I just hate tw since im a developer i guess. The way it works is just awful compared to aosp
I installed cm10.1 2 hours after i got my device lol.
Anyways. If this project is stable then this beats the google edition at any time. In usability
Guys I got great news, incoming calls and sms is working! :victory: Now camera and bluetooth :fingers-crossed:
btw this last build I compiled had a different hwcomposer, and it made a lot of difference, the screen is not running in vsync atm, it looks really laggy but it runs over 60 fps (when the fps meter goes about 60 in the antutu benchmark test with the knights you know it), anyways, that will not come in the next build, it will include a proper hwcomposer and kernel (since they seem to coop I noticed )
next build has working incoming call and sms. I also have found a patch for S4 camera, so I hope it works :fingers-crossed:
ok taking videos is already working, taking pictures is not (just like on cm because of the build.prop issue, which is kinda weird tbh).
Actually it just stacks up nicely along the "issues" from cm-10.2, mainly because I use the whole CM hardware folder probably
So glad your still working on this one docter frankenstein

its getting less frankenrom every minute I'm currently compiling the whole system (from clean) and detecting errors/fixing them, and of course directly to github. else I forget it XD. Too much weed to remember everything
Anyways, when the camera works I'm happy, i don't care about bluetooth at all. but that doesn't mean it gets lower prio in fixing though
What I notice btw is that the system feels really clean, I have never got 25.8k at antutu before (also not with oc xd, and this kernel is just a very nasty build, recompiled like 10 times getting dirtier and dirtier XD)
Looking really good. I am following this thread from now on!

asap. I'm so extremely messy atm, have been compiling all night. actually almost 5 days in a row now XD.
Anyways, I'm going to post it now, DO NOT MIND THE BUILD.PROP, it's from CM10.2 and not even from me. It's the only build.prop that makes the camera take pictures.. I know this sounds extremely lame but it's really true, I've tested it many times with great disbelief. got crippled by my own sense of logicness. (only the host builder name and date is different, no extra lines tho :/)
Anyways, this build contains gapps as well. I know it's not allowed but if JBQ leaves the AOSP team I can easily do this in this dirty build :good:
You can also use the first build's zip and copy over: Phone, TelephonyProvider, Contacts and Dialer
Everything is working (afaik) except bluetooth, I removed the apk so it won't fc all the time.

Going to take a break after the link has been posted because i have not sleept for over 48 hours already xd.
If you like to help me, be my guest, and download the manifest. it may include some small errors in building. But i can guarantee there are only very few.

Good luck and have fun testing guys, i'm off for now (I think xd)

4.3 has root protection idd but it's no that bad, Ill try rebuilding it with superuser added.
What you guys can do is adding:
- Settings.apk from
- /system/xbin/su
- /system/bin/.ext/su
- /system/etc/.has_su_daemon
All those from CM10.2 in AOSP4.3 zip, reinstall and it should work I think
or from Google Edition rom, like jamal's rom.
edit: included partially disabled SElinux boot.img, adb has root all the time.

CyanogenMod9.1 weekly - TeamNDVRu https://github.com/TeamNDVRu/
CyanogenMod 9 is a free, community built distribution of Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) which greatly extends the capabilities of your phone.
This is stable release, marching towards 9.1 release.
Code:
#include
/*
* Your warranty is now void.
*
* I am not responsible for bricked devices, dead SD cards,
* thermonuclear war, or you getting fired because the alarm app failed. Please
* do some research if you have any concerns about features included in this ROM
* before flashing it! YOU are choosing to make these modifications, and if
* you point the finger at me for messing up your device, I will laugh at you.
*/
This is an alpha, with most critical functionality working.
Working with Senior CyanogenMod team members, we have this project unleashed. The time for cm9 HOX alpha releases is here!
A cooperation of mdeejay and tbalden and all the good folks who have contributed to the open source community around HOX.
Thanks jonas2295 for the banner!
tbalden is one of the maintainers of official htc-doubleshot cm9 device / kernel tree and as such member of TeamDS, and recently started to hack for his HTC One X (endeavoru) as well. Most of you will/might know who mdeejay is, a long-time developer on xda and rootz, who now owns a HOX device too and decided to hack cm9 for this device as well.
Thanks and credits:
- the awesome ladies and gents who are creating, helping, rocking cyanogenmod and the cm team
- all you folks who contributed to the opensource scene of android, this time especially endeavoru and endeavoru cm9!
- all the kernel hackers who was stabilizing the released htcdev kernel sources, especially showp-1984, riemervdzee, TripNRaVeR, kholk and everyone else!
- the creators of tf300 and tf201 device trees all around the interwebz
- tgascoigne for the camera mode patch in cm repo
- htc, google and all the worthy companies who make it possible
Kernel since alpha12 is based on htcdev original source with cherrypicked sweep2wake patch by showp-1984 and updated bt driver. Kernel proved stable so far and deep sleeps very well. defconfig we use contains support for nfs/cifs/tun.
https://github.com/TeamNDVRu/htc-kernel-endeavoru
Device tree is a derivation of other tegra3 device trees like Transformer Prime, and GPS patches from the xda thread CM9 Development repositories. Tree orchestrated by mdeejay and tbalden:
https://github.com/TeamNDVRu/htc-kernel-endeavoru
Vendor blobs are from latest update by htc.
https://github.com/TeamNDVRu/android_vendor_htc_endeavoru
Issues: (we always keep this list up to date!)
- WiFi direct doesnt work
- MHL output is rotated incorrectly to portrait in horizontal mode (but workaround added since alpha 8 for hw decoded videos/youtube. Use bsplayer from playstore, almost all videos play with it in correct rotation in hwoverlay)
- No FM radio app in ROM. But Spirit FM works from market (it's commercial!)
- You tell
Works:
Mostly everything else, including camera/camcorder, airplane mode on-off, USB and Wifi Tethering, Burst shot in Camera
INSTRUCTIONS:
- First time flashing CM 9 to your HOX (or coming from another ROM)?
1. Unlock your device and install Clockwork Recovery
2. Do a Nandroid backup!
3. WIPE
4. Install the ROM
5. Optionally install the Google Addon
6. Download boot.img as well,
7. boot into boot loader (adb reboot bootloader). Use fastboot and ‘fastboot flash boot boot.img’ through usb to have the correct kernel/boot image. Otherwise it won’t work/boot.
8. 'fastboot erase cache' is recommended if you have booting issues
9. anti Wifi drain advice: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=28797990&postcount=1490
Be aware that if you're not using the kernel provided here, you might have issues with bluetooth reconnection, if the kernel doesnt have updated bt drivers of nvidia kernel 3.1.10.
Regarding MMS, some advice, if you have problems with it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27484163&postcount=308
HOW TO REPORT BUGS OR PROBLEMS?
- Was your problem a hard reboot? Get us the file "/proc/last_kmsg".
- Was your problem a soft reboot or a "boot loop"? Run "adb logcat" and get the full output.
- Pastebin links preferred.
- For now, please leave comments in the forums. We will be monitoring for activity as we continue to fix known issues.

how can we solve this problem
video recording on AOSP the image is stretched
i'm recording a perfect circle
will try the ROM later
currently using your kernel on Trip's CM9 ROM and it's running great so far, plus sweep-to-wake's integration is really awesome
thanks!
Sweet finally an official (going to be) Cyanogenmod 9. Looking forward to some rock stable, bugless and optimised ROMs.
I hope this ROM will be developed longer than Alpha 3 build.........
Just tested rom.. and wow..
Ok, gps fix is great.
no incompatible apps (that should be compatible)
Echo is fixed
My only trouble was the leds did not work for missed calls or new messages.
I've read that it was a problem with using Franco's Kernel.. but then again I haven't had much luch with those leds.
Charging led works though.
Any Ideas?
Great rom and keep up the amazing work

FAQ
Q: Do I need to wipe everything while upgrading from earlier CM10.1 build?
A: In general: only dalvick-cache and cache. But in case after upgrade you got bootloop (or stuck at cm logo or getting fc after boot) then you shuold wipe data.
Q: The 'Developer and Performance options' from 'settings' are gone. Where are they?
A: Touch the 'Build number' seven times in 'about phone'. Then they will appear.
Q: I have SD card bug, What to do ?
A: Connect your phone to usb at boot, your sd card bug will gone (NOTE: This bug Fixed in RC5)
Q: my phone freeze or white screen on Opening an App, what to do ?
A: go to the hwa setting app and disable hwa for that app, mostly browser need it (note: not needed from RC5)
Q: I'm facing touch hang in lockscreen
A: don't panic! just relock your phone and then unlock, however cybojenix said he is working on this bug and it will be fixed soon
Q: I can't use mass storage from RC5
A:
Use MTP
you can read this article to get more info on mtp/ptp
and for ubuntu users, follow this guide to use mtp
and mac users can follow this guide
(Note: mtp Is default since RC6 )
Q: When I powered on my Phone it goes into blackscreen
A: Reboot your phone into recovery and then reboot phone, This is bug in 3.0 kernel and currently we don't have any log on this bug and due to no log we stuck here
Q: When ever i open camera, my phone reboot
A: This is so strange bug and it only for few users with 3.0 kernel and right now i'm out of idea for this problem

just checked, doesn't work, but it will need implementing at source level as well. If you haven't merged the sources by the time I'm free, I'll merge it together
Also, tested wifi, scanning doesn't work (but didn't give it long so it might work) but manually connecting to network does
another first for the p350, first armv6 to have working wifi

The AOSParadox Project 2.1
What's CodeAurora Forums ?
Code Aurora Forum (CAF) is a consortium of companies with projects serving the mobile wireless industry. Software projects it concerns itself with are e.g. Android for MSM, Femto Linux Project, LLVM, MSM WLAN and Linux-MSM. Code Aurora is basically AOSP plus all Qualcomm specific enhancements and optimization.
What's AOSParadox Project ?
AOSParadox is a vanilla ROM. Our goal is to pick the least amount of commits possible on AOSP code. While trying to add features, when CodeAurora provide us with chipset's specific sources ?
At the opposite of most of ROMs that you can find, the trees are made by ourselves to be integrated in this new ROM type.
What should I be aware of ?
Everything is custom and made to work with CodeAurora Forum's sources so custom kernels won't boot (ramdisk is different, selinux rules too, ...).
Extra features
Code:
- Snapdragon camera
- Compatible with layer themes
What doesn't work ?
Code:

Most of you would want to skip to Step 1.3 as that's why I created this post and everything else is almost similar. If this works out (especially 1.3), please give me feedback.[/B]
[B]1.1 [U]Enabling softkeys:[/U] [/B]
1. Make sure you have got / & /system mounted as rw.
2. Go to device/system/build.prop.
3. Scroll down to the extreme bottom.
4. Add this line there :
[I]qemu.hw.mainkeys=0[/I]
5. Save the file and reboot. (To be sure that it has got enabled and we're gonna disable the hard-keys in the next step.)
[B]1.2 [U]Disabling the Hardware keys:[/U] [/B]
1. Go to Device/system/usr/keylayout/generic.kl.
2. Scroll down and find the following keys and add # before each of them.
It should then look like this:
# key 139 MENU
# key 158 BACK
# key 172 HOME
3. Save and Reboot.
[B]Alternatively[/B] you can go set the long press and short press of the hard keys to "No action" from settings , in newer builds. (But [B]back button would still work though[/B])
[B]1.3 [U]Disabling the backlight of the HW keys:[/U] (Permanent as long as a systemless SuperSU is available.)[/B]
1. Download this :- [url]https://www.dropbox.com/s/lbx8fogscy8v0xc/DisableSoftkeysBacklight?dl=0[/url]
2. Have [B]a systemless version of [user=631273]@Chainfire[/user] 's SuperSU flashed [/B] (very important)
3. Go to /su/su.d
4. Paste the "DisableSoftkeysBacklight" you downloaded inside su.d
5. Change permissions of the file (Give Owner read, write and execute permissions.)
6. Now reboot.

Gr8 ROM !
I found it odd that CAF task manager and CAF appops weren't there. Is this strictly CAF when it comes to just the kernel?

Yep. Pretty much as CAF as Sultan's kernel is. And nope. No app opps or task manager here. We've kinda stuck to as less bloat as we can manage.
ROM working fine on Multirom (secondary). Its always good to see a new ROM surface
@Quasar then would you mind removing all of those really outdated AOSP apps that are really useless? xD
Also I don't know about you.. but I'd think that CAF App ops is extremely useful.

Well, it's just gallery, browser and music. Also, CAF App Ops needs some commits that we don't want to use. You could download App Ops from the play store, though.
Booted on render, lost WiFi, but booted.. Going to try tyr and ak...
*update..
Tyr doesn't boot and ak loses WiFi too..

Don't really need those anymore since Google fixed the systemupdateservice wakelock. I haven't been on this for a full cycle yet, but on falcon, the SOT almost doubled with this ROM, so I don't think you'd need anything.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I like keeping my ROMs minimalistic as well.

Yay more AOSPs.
Pretty smooth ROM. I would love to see some basic features being added.
Thanks a lot for this great ROM.
@Quasar
Will you add the backup functionalities on addon.d in the future? Or it will stay as it is?
This is exactly what we need! Looking forward to this ROM and if you don't mind ,just a suggestion.. Please don't add any "extra" features such as app side bar app circle bar, floating window etc.
Battery life is too good on this ...
Network traffic and this will be the dream!

This ROM uses one heck of a lot of modules. Including prima wich isn't build "in-kernel" anymore (this way we always use the latest one and we match caf format)

If there are outdated... Why wouldn't we update it simply?
The ROM (on all the concerned devices) is quiet young. Once we added a few features (clean all task) and fixed all the bugs. We will start working apps by ourselves.

It will stay as it is to match CAF as much as we can.
Status bar says 3g even though it says lte in quick settings and no lights on capacitive keys. An option for softkeys would be awesome if possible. I also tried to flash open gapps stock package and I got an error that there wasn't enough room on system. I guess it's an error in the updater script. Works fine in CM. Thanks for the ROM I've been waiting for something like this for a while.
There are three major bugs listed and you are calling it stable?

From official Paranoid Android team :
"We’re really excited to announce that we are releasing our Nougat flavour of Paranoid Android. We have a lot in store - with a mix of both features & improvements.
First & foremost, we have moved our code base to be fully CAF based. This brings many improvements to your device. The key improvement here is that Qualcomm hardware is better tuned on the CAF base and with our additional optimizations we can provide a smooth and fluid user experience that will let you enjoy using your device without any lags.
On first launch you’ll notice a clean setup with a beautiful wallpaper from Hampus Olsson who’s teamed up with us again and created several beautiful pieces of artwork. For those of you who don’t know, Hampus is a multi-disciplinary artist whose work stands itself and we’re glad to have him onboard. We have also added several new features and made improvements to the UI of the system that we believe would enhance the overall experience.
Pie
We’ve been working hard on redesigning this key feature of our portfolio and we’re really happy with how it has turned out. The whole design has been reworked and it fits in well with the overall feel of Google’s Material Design. This gives you the opportunity to use more gesture based control for navigating, rather than using the standard Navigation Bar at the bottom of your screen. Expect improvements and additions in the future.
Color Engine
We’re proud to announce our newest feature - Color Engine. Color Engine allows you to seamlessly change the colors of your device to be in Light, Dark (Pixel) and Black modes with a variety of accent colors to choose from. This makes changing the theme of your device really quick without having to install any extra packages on your device.
Pocket Lock
This feature prevents any form of accidental input when your device is in your pocket by disabling input sources. You can simply release Pocket Lock by long pressing the power button as highlighted by the minimal UI incase of any sort of obstruction or dust on the sensors.
Accidental Touch
Accidental Touch is a feature useful for many, especially the gamers out there. It prevents any sort of accidental touch on hardware buttons while the touchscreen is in use. This means you won’t experience any unexpected behaviour while playing games, web browsing or even when attempting to reach your finger out to the edge of that humongous display.
Major features:
- Reworked Pie
- Color engine
- Pocket lock
- Immersive mode
- Buttons customization (including navigation bar)
- On the spot controls (OTS)
Minor features:
- SafetyNet Compatibility
- Battery/Notification LED control
- Recent tasks locking
- Battery icon customization
- Google now page in default launcher
- Accidental touch
- Three finger swipe Screenshot
- Substratum (OMS) support (Color engine will be deactivated if you use Substratum)
- Quick pulldown
- Various performance and battery improvements
- Display Burn-in protection (for OLED screens)
- More to explore "
Device specific features for OP5 (List is being updated):
- Offscreen gestures
- sRGB support (OnePlus 3(T)/5 specific)
- Alert slider customization
Specific device performance and battery optimizations
- THP usage in kernel and memory allocator
- Specific boosting in performance critical scenarios
- Two-step input boost
Note: Custom kernels are explicitly unsupported and will cause issues
unless they state that they are AOSPA compatible or AOSPA based!

Precision about this build : its UNOFFICIAL .
I asked permission on Twitter, to arter97, thecrazylex and xboxfanj to make an unofficial thread on XDA, which has been ignored by the ones being active on Twitter (I know 2 of the 3 arnt active, but one of these guys is, and purely ignored me)
Thats why this thread is here, and I plan to update it
Édit : @TheCrazyLex answered to me, approved the creating of a XDA thread
EDIT 2 : One of PA members confirmed lack.of support for OP5 with PA Nougat, as support will begin with O. If you want pa_cheeseburger based on Nougat, install my builds ?
I won't ever include any mods to the ROM, like add blockers, Xposed, OOS Camera app, or whatever else. This ROM is and will stay the simplest possible, a simple Paranoid Android build for the OnePlus 5.
My phone starts to lag, why?
If you encounter slowdowns after weeks of using, please run these commands on a terminal app on your phone (assuming you're using Magisk)
su
/data/magisk/busybox fstrim -v /data
Phone should be as fast as the day you just clean flashed
if this command doesnt works, reboot into TWRP and run :
fstrim -v /data
If you guys want to build your own pa_cheeseburger builds, take a look to my instructions
Nice! Welcome and tks!

The camera with PA is pretty much identical to OOS for picture quality and for low light shots its better however 4k EIS is not as good as OOS.

!!IMPORTANT!!
My device is slowly diyng, so i decided that our last battle would be the Android 12 port. Unfortunately, for this reason i don't know when i will stop to work on Mi5, maybe tomorrow, maybe next year... The good news is that everyone is free to use my repos, and can easily compile almost all Android 12 ROMs with a few edits.
Notes for developers :
hardware/xiaomi repo is a dependency for IR HAL, be sure to add the repo to your manifest or the ROM will compile fine, but won't boot (bootloop)
Starting from this and this commits the LA.UM.9.6.2.r1-04100-89xx.0 msm8996 QCOM HALs are MANDATORY, the new graphics blobs requires the new display HAL. New blobs with the old HAL breaks surfaceflinger, be careful. Also, take in mind that WFD require libdisplayconfig.qti which is NOT provided in old display HAL repo.
If the ROM you are trying to build use Lineage OS touch HAL disable the keyswap feature, its crashing at boot and the device enter in bootloop state

You can try, but probably the ROM won't boot.. Also, if you are using a 3.18 kernel you must flash a recovery for 4.4 kernels and format the internal memory, as i wrote in the first post
is there any hope for fingerprint?

Wow that was really quick! Thank you for all your efforts.
I can't enable mobile data, it just says this, but seems like mobile data isn't broken. How can I make it work? APN looks fine.
I flashed the rom, it offers great experience. I will report my long usage experience and important bugs I found. But I think the rom is bugless
Microphone, handset and speaker were working during outgoing and incoming calls in the rom published a week ago, but in the compilation dated 12.02.2022 they do not work. And Ram memory is used a lot by the system compared to android 10 version. I think it's due to the kernel. These are the important bugs for now, I will give new notifications as my experience increases. Thanks

Thanks for the report, unfortunately the new audio HAL breaks the audio calls, i did not realized that there were a regression because i'm not using the phone as primary, i'm uploading a new build right now with the audio fixed plus all latest changes i made in these days
Regarding the memory usage, use a greater amount of RAM doesn't mean that there's something broken, there's no sense to keep the RAM unused and load everything from the disk everytime, unless there's some process that leaks memory and eats the available RAM for nothing it's normal.
However you are absolutely right regarding the memory usage greater than android 10, and it's not related to the kernel, i've used the same kernel and my branches on PE 10/11 before starting the development of android 12, because i needed a working build enviroment, and the memory usage was lower compared to android 12

Actually the only things broken are double tap to wake and key swap function, which i consider minor bugs. I found what's breaking the functions, but not yet understood why, i will try to take a look deeper next days

Actually the only things broken are double tap to wake and key swap function, which i consider minor bugs. I found what's breaking the functions, but not yet understood why, i will try to take a look deeper next days
Enjoy

That's odd, i never had that issue.. But what happens if you touch the switch? It remains disabled or turns on but mobile data are still not working?

Thanks for the quick reply. Moreover, the new version came very quickly. you are the best. I will enjoy the wonderful Rom. I will continue to report important bugs that I find.
Some errors I encountered
-The flash does not work when taking pictures.
-The numbers I made phone calls to do not appear in the call log.
-Home button has no touch function
does this ROM have thermal protection where it forced shutdown while the phone getting hot? it'd be less usable rather than thermal throttling at certain thermal limit

It turns on but after a few seconds it says no connection and turns off automatically, and system puts exclamation mark to the mobile data icon on the status bar.
