hello
i have htc one v, after a week working with the phone, i faced a problem!!
my camera dont record a video, and the gallery dont play the videos.
i even changed the rom but the problem is still with me
i am very hopeless
please help me soon
What rom is this on?
Which Rom are you using ??
Make it clear...

Its most likely you are missing a set of codecs. I can only recommend downloading a media playing app like VLC, this will play most files types. Without anymore information about what rom you are using with what kernel it is hard to say anything more.

Well it seems I've had a persistent problem with my rooted G2. I used the visionary method and everything seems good. But recently anything video related freezes. Ill try to play a youtube video (Strong Wifi connection) and it'll freeze. Like ill still hear the audio but not the video it just stays black or on one image. & everytime I try to watch videos I have stored in my sd card the video player crashes or shows nothing.
Anyone had the same issue? I'm pretty sure its not a hardware problem because ill play PSX or angry birds and it runs perfectly fine. Anyone have a fix for this?

Hi
Whenever i try playing a flash video in the browser (or in skyfire), after i press the play button, the progress bar is moving, i get the audio, but there's no video - the video area remains black.
I'm experiencing this for about 2 months now, in which i switched ROMs (iceandfire, cyanogen), updated the flash player several times, updated skyfire several times (it happens both in skyfire and stock browser), cleared cache of those 3 apps, cleared data, tried to uninstall and reinstall...
nothing helps...
Any ideas?
Thanks
Edit: found a similar thread at cyanogonmod forums:

I'll keep an eye on it over there. I''ld delete this post if I knew how...
I also had this problem, then I downloaded the 10.2.idontknow and it worked again!
i am using the cm 7.0.3 and adobe flashplayer 10.3. seems no problem. i did not do any extra setting. so give it a try.
I have a similar issue. Mine will play fine in the browser, but when I open the video in Youtube after starting a video in the browser, it will start to play, but only audio plays - no video. I am currently using a stock, non-rooted G2. I didn't have this
problem with my last G2 running CM7 though...

I have the same issue. However my YouTube app works fine. An interesting point is videos that automatically open in full screen from the browser work. I'm on cm7.0.3 with the latest flash.
I used to be able to resolve the issue with an older version of flash but now when I do that YouTube gripes that I must update flash player.

Wow I must be lucky, because I've never experience this issue. And I watch youtube dailymotion on the browser and never had this issue

I've had the black screen of death too. Only audio on random embedded videos. Like worldstarhiphop.com for instance. I'll try a fresh rom install and see if that works if no fixed is found in this thread. It's the only thing hindering CM7 based roms.

from the cyanogenmod forums (the link i posted in my first post):
@dewd write:
"Yes. I did 2 things to make it work.
1. I updated to the latest version of Flash in the market (10.3.185.22).
2. I used ROM Manager to "Fix Permissions" (and rebooted).
After these steps I was able to watch Flash movies.
This did not fix Netflix, It plays movies with sound, but no picture. "
it worked for me, took a couple of minutes to fix permissions but then i was able to see flash videos again.
i checked it only in 1 website though...
I have same problem...
Apparently the fix permissions method didn't work...
So I tried what @Tommebaas recommended, and downloaded an old 10.2 version of Adobe Flash Player.
It worked! thanks @Tommebaas
Here's a link to the version that did the trick for me:

10.3 is better and runs flash that 10.2 can't, so that's not really a fix if I downgrade.

What does 10.3 run, that 10.2 can't? I don't view a whole bunch of sites with Flash. But for what I have viewed, I've never had an issue as far back as 10.1. It seems like a lot of the recent updates have had more to do with tablets (and very minor performance enhancements) than anything else.
I moved Flash to SD and it works for me now.

the 10.2 install fixed it for me, idk what is suppose to be special about 10.3 but um if it doesnt work its not better than 10.2 so yeah.
When I record video on my phone, doesn't matter which app, either stock, or ICS app, it won't play properly.
It will either play 2x speed with no sound, or normal speed with skipping audio.
Same thing happens if I transfer it to my PC or another phone.
If I play other videos that weren't recorded using this phone, like ones from my old X10 or regular movies, it plays fine.
Any ideas?
does anyone have ANY ideas?
I cant figure this out.
Still waiting, anyone?

try lowering the resolution or use advance stock kernel by doomlord

Very vague. What rom and kernel are you using? Try being more specific when you ask questions so people know what you're running, otherwise you'll keep getting no possible solutions.
Here is what Happening with me.. Music player automatically gets stopped when I open the gallery for viewing images in HTC one v.
I've also tried installing other music players like n7player and poweramp but the problem is still there.
Are you also facing this problem. Please tell me if there is a fix.
Do a hard reset ..
If the problem still persists get a new device
I've tried hard reset but still problem persist, but now I've installed player pro and its working fine now..

This might explain your problem!
I think that it's not the phone's problem. It's because when you enter the gallery, you can play videos, and if you play videos their is sound right? well if they don't stop your music it will play at the same time as the sound in the video. If you use another music player (eg. cloudskipper), in theory it should not stop because that app is not made my HTC, and HTC can't stop it from playing. If you think it's the phone's problem still, i suggest you bring it back to HTC for a repair! Good luck!
I'm new to XDA!
Please press "Thanks" if i helped!
yes it is phone problem, and you should replace your device... i dont have that kind of problem...

Try reset and formatting all sd card data and then keep only music, images, videos in sd card, no clutter...
I had a Q&A section added in this forum. Please post all future question related threads in Q&A. Thank You.

Had this prob... This is what I did...
Go to app manager and force stop music app and all music related apps (if I'm not mistaken there should be three of em), then clear data... This fixed it for me... No need of reset...

Basically when I first got my HTC evo 3d I had a version of YouTube app that enabled me to leave YouTube running with screen locked so I could listen to the audio. Now it is impossible and my older app won't work properly on ics or jb, I'd like to sort this on my one x so it still plays the YouTube audio in lockscreen if anyone can or thinks they can help please do, if needed I can send the YouTube apk for looking at to see if the framework can be modded in newer apps to enable this

The app actually does run but you cannot sign into your YouTube account on it, as I'm not an app dev I have no idea how to mod the newer app to play audio on lockscreen, I am but a humble pc builder lol
